What they absolutely don't want is you to do is stand up to them. After attempting normal ways of getting them to stop, for years, you end up getting desperate for it all to stop, especially when it impacts your physical and mental health and you will do anything to make that happen but of course if you are dealing with a warped, sick mind, they will somehow rationalise that they are the victim. either party could be a victim. you can not make assumption 1 party is automatically wrong make that assumption. as right now your line of thinking is showing the bias. your presumed a judgement without giving context to the situation. now if you give us detail version of the story of what happened. you let a judge decide who is the victim here. facts of the case and what laws you suspect was broken. then u have a better argument. make sure to provide sources and evidence if you can.

Well of course another aspect of this is that more often or not a perpetrator already has a prior history of mistreating women. They may have already been arrested for domestic abuse or have forced themselves on a woman but have somehow managed to either blag their way out of it or paid the victim off. The type of man who forces his attentions on someone when they are fully aware the woman isn't interested has deep issues and should be careful about how they behave because at some point the chickens will come home to roost, as the saying goes.

I have it in a text. I filled out an application for an appliance installer. I was interviewed. I told him some things about my previous employer. He used it against me and didn't hire me. I did not know he denied my application through a 3rd party website. I called the company multiple times to find out about my application. He is now accusing me of lingering around his facility of employment. I walked in and asked his secretary about my application. She said he would get back to me. He never ever did. I left him a 1star review about my experience with his company. He messaged me back and said, "If I do not take my review down". He is going to call all the appliance companies in my state to not hire me and warn them about me. This is clearly Defamation of character. I took a screen shot of his text to me.

The statute of limitations is ridiculous to me. The only issue holding me back from a large defamation lawsuit against a well known blogger is the statue of limitations in California. I was a student when the defamatory article was published and couldn't afford a lawyer or a lawsuit at the time. Over the years, the unfactual article has affected my life in every way possible (employment, financial gain, mentally, physically, emotionally, and more.) I'm curious if there's ever been an exception made in a unique circumstance, such as my own? Lawsuits are expensive and defamation could affect the victim long-term. Placing a statue of limitations on that is an injustice itself.

In Maryland I cannot record someone. I can only record visibly in a public setting but video taping anything audible violates the Wiretap act. We appreciate the question. Probably not based on the limited facts you've presented. Opinions are protected speech. Also, speech that is false and that is conveyed to a limited audience for good-faith reasons (i.e. without actual knowledge of its falsity) is protected by qualified privilege. So even if was false and defamatory opinions that relied on last facts and could still be actionable as a possible claim, it would nonetheless be difficult to prove the person who made the statement had act actual knowledge. Now, there are caveats and situations where a claim could still exist. However, the odds are not in your favor. Hope this helps or is at least informative, even if it may not be good news.
hi. i dont know if you would know or not if this is defamation or i could sue over this. but i recently went to an interview, i had a friend who was recently hired in. the interview went well. they told me they would get back to me that afternoon. a week went by and nothing from them. i contacted the recruiter and she tried to get a hold of them took almost another week before finding out i was denied. i asked why she said something that was just bs, so i asked if i could talk to HR and find out what went on and why. so HR called me, and started to lie about me and slandered my character making things up about myself for the reason they denied me work.
How about when supposedly my ex made an assumption, shared it with my parent which resulted in my parent no longer being willing to help in family court. Mine also involves hacking, harrassment and stalking, both on the internet and now by my home. They are all in the public eye, mostly in America although I live in the UK. Well of course another aspect of this is that more often or not a perpetrator already has a prior history of mistreating women. They may have already been arrested for domestic abuse or have forced themselves on a woman but have somehow managed to either blag their way out of it or paid the victim off. The type of man who forces his attentions on someone when they are fully aware the woman isn't interested has deep issues and should be careful about how they behave because at some point the chickens will come home to roost, as the saying goes.

I filled out an application for an appliance installer. I was interviewed. I told him some things about my previous employer. He used it against me and didn't hire me. I did not know he denied my application through a 3rd party website. I called the company multiple times to find out about my application. He is now accusing me of lingering around his facility of employment. I walked in and asked his secretary about my application. She said he would get back to me. He never ever did. I left him a 1star review about my experience with his company. He messaged me back and said, "If I do not take my review down". He is going to call all the appliance companies in my state to not hire me and warn them about me. This is clearly Defamation of character. I took a screen shot of his text to me.

The statute of limitations is ridiculous to me. The only issue holding me back from a large defamation lawsuit against a well known blogger is the statue of limitations in California. I was a student when the defamatory article was published and couldn't afford a lawyer or a lawsuit at the time. Over the years, the unfactual article has affected my life in every way possible (employment, financial gain, mentally, physically, emotionally, and more.) I'm curious if there's ever been an exception made in a unique circumstance, such as my own? Lawsuits are expensive and defamation could affect the victim long-term. Placing a statue of limitations on that is an injustice itself.

Without the specifics, its hard to say. Although, odds are if we had to speculate, you probably don't. The statement is likely protected by a qualified privilege in these circumstances. And, in most cases, you probably would not be able to overcome the higher burden of proof needed to win and overcome the privilege. Although, this is nothing more than a generic guess. You will need to talk to an attorney about the specific details in your case to get a better answer.

We appreciate the question. Probably not based on the limited facts you've presented. Opinions are protected speech. Also, speech that is false and that is conveyed to a limited audience for good-faith reasons (i.e. without actual knowledge of its falsity) is protected by qualified privilege. So even if was false and defamatory opinions that relied on last facts and could still be actionable as a possible claim, it would nonetheless be difficult to prove the person who made the statement had act actual knowledge. Now, there are caveats and situations where a claim could still exist. However, the odds are not in your favor. Hope this helps or is at least informative, even if it may not be good news.

hi. i dont know if you would know or not if this is defamation or i could sue over this. but i recently went to an interview, i had a friend who was recently hired in. the interview went well. they told me they would get back to me that afternoon. a week went by and nothing from them. i contacted the recruiter and she tried to get a hold of them took almost another week before finding out i was denied. i asked why she said something that was just bs, so i asked if i could talk to HR and find out what went on and why. so HR called me, and started to lie about me and slandered my character making things up about myself for the reason they denied me work.
