Sansa really is underrated. I’m rewatching the show rn and she may be a “slow” learner but the fact that she’s alive and where she is now is not just luck. She does understand the game and plays as best as she can ever since “how long do i have to look?”.

It's the Tyrion that came out after David&Dan tried to make their own storyline for Tyrion after season 4 (where Tyrion's storyline gets super different from the books) as opposed to sticking with what GRRM wrote. David&Dan aren't bad writers or storytellers, but they aren't even close to GRRM. One of the problems that has arisen from them making up so much of the storyline since season 4 is Tyrion's character has suffered (especially starting in season 7, when he doesn't even act like the same person). So if you count the David&Dan Tyrion as the real Tyrion then you're right, but I do not count that.

From the books other names can be mentioned like Aegon Targaryen and Jon Connington, but their story is not developed enough. Mance Rayder is just the free folk leader and not a GoT player.

Sansa was not even known to be alive to be the heir to winterfell until basically the last season, it was her “playing the game” that brought the knights of the veil into the battle of the bastards and then again her “playing the game” that sent John to parlay with Dani and ultimately brought them victory over the white walkers and then Kong’s landing. She played the game and played it well in my opinion

Anthony Akl If the final season was 10 episodes, I’d be inclined to agree with you all, but it isn’t. He’s dead. Listen to what D&D said about his death in the BTS featurette. They aren’t intelligent enough to write something so vastly complicated. GRRM is, but he’s a co-producer and I’m sure they have taken writing cues from him, but not on this level. Maybe MAYBE it’ll happen in the books (man I hope so), because LF is too smart to be lured into a trap that Sansa and Arya set. But the show? Nah. They used it for Sanaa’s character development. It sucked I agree, but if we see him come back, it’ll be in a flashback possibly. I doubt they’d make him a wight. Hodor yes, but not LF. There are theories that Baelish didn't actually die, but it's clear that Baelish is a better player. Sansa got the upper hand yes, but Baelish started the Game of Thrones and is responsible for many deaths and most of the story.

I would have placed Tywin on number 3 and Cersei on number 4. Playing the game of thrones is not only by manipulating others or how good you are in politician, you also need to be a skillful military leader. Another aspect for Tywin is that he accomplished more in his life than cersei.

Check out the tyrell story... I feel like littlefinger lost playing an unnecessary game at the end, for me he would be like top 3 (Tywin I think is a better player than him), but I don’t think no one played the game as well as olenna... she outlived all the players from her time, her family was always on the rising and also she could manage to win any conversation or negotiation like no other(she could made littlefinger, Tyrion, Varys and even Tywin speechless)... I still think that the way the show got rid off her is somewhat unrealistic and I hope that won’t happened in the books while littlefinger is a bit possible because of bran’s presence(but his plan was a bit out of character)

First by convincing Lysa to kill Jon Arryn who was hand of the king(Robert) then Robert makes Ned his hand, Ned finds out Cersei's children are bastards and threatens to tell Robert, Cersei orchestrates Robert's death, Ned loses his head. The war of the five kings begin. He really deserves the number 1 spot.
Respectfully, you may like Sansa but don't fall for D&D's trick of believing someone is smart and capable simply because they have other characters say she is. Arya saying she's the smartest persons she knows is laughable. Think about it, how often have we seen her "great intellect" at work. But although I don't particularly care for Dany either cause I think she's a little too Mad Queenish, she actually has major accomplishments under her belt whereas Sansa was a hostage for nearly 5 seasons and did very little to change her situation during that time. She just went along with the current instead of trying to change the direction of the flow. Dany is proactive and a get things done type of person not a big shit talker when she's safe and protected like Sansa. And Dany knows how to use what she has to get what she wants. Sansa never master this ability. She has survived primarily because her name is Stark and people keep her alive because they want the North not because of her wits. If it weren't for Theon....Reek, lol...she would still be a hostage at WF trying to put a candle in the window for so someone else could save her instead of finding a way to save herself. Oh and also, like Jon, people want to follow Dany. Sansa has never shown the ability to inspire devotion. Not sure how the High Sparrow even qualifies for this list. He never expressed, onscreen or in print, any desire to sit on the Iron Throne. If aspiring to the Iron Throne is the most basic rule in the game of thrones, then perhaps this list should be titled; "Top 10 Best Game of Thrones Political Strategists" or something similar. He restored his family name after his weak ass father almost destroyed their house. Then he held the entire Kingdom together under the mad king as the hand of the king. After that he single-handedly won the war his dumb daughter Cersei failed to prevent. Not to mention Cersei continued to undermine his power by fucking with the Tyrells. Without Tywin there would be no house Lannister. Cersei is alive because of Tywin's power and what he built. Cersei should not even make top 20 of any list. Cersei is not going to live as long as Tywin did and she will be the one to destroy their house.

It's the Tyrion that came out after David&Dan tried to make their own storyline for Tyrion after season 4 (where Tyrion's storyline gets super different from the books) as opposed to sticking with what GRRM wrote. David&Dan aren't bad writers or storytellers, but they aren't even close to GRRM. One of the problems that has arisen from them making up so much of the storyline since season 4 is Tyrion's character has suffered (especially starting in season 7, when he doesn't even act like the same person).
So if you count the David&Dan Tyrion as the real Tyrion then you're right, but I do not count that.

If the final season was 10 episodes, I’d be inclined to agree with you all, but it isn’t. He’s dead. Listen to what D&D said about his death in the BTS featurette. They aren’t intelligent enough to write something so vastly complicated. GRRM is, but he’s a co-producer and I’m sure they have taken writing cues from him, but not on this level. Maybe MAYBE it’ll happen in the books (man I hope so), because LF is too smart to be lured into a trap that Sansa and Arya set. But the show? Nah. They used it for Sanaa’s character development. It sucked I agree, but if we see him come back, it’ll be in a flashback possibly. I doubt they’d make him a wight. Hodor yes, but not LF. There are theories that Baelish didn't actually die, but it's clear that Baelish is a better player. Sansa got the upper hand yes, but Baelish started the Game of Thrones and is responsible for many deaths and most of the story.

I feel like littlefinger lost playing an unnecessary game at the end, for me he would be like top 3 (Tywin I think is a better player than him), but I don’t think no one played the game as well as olenna... she outlived all the players from her time, her family was always on the rising and also she could manage to win any conversation or negotiation like no other(she could made littlefinger, Tyrion, Varys and even Tywin speechless)... Respectfully, you may like Sansa but don't fall for D&D's trick of believing someone is smart and capable simply because they have other characters say she is. Arya saying she's the smartest persons she knows is laughable. Think about it, how often have we seen her "great intellect" at work. But although I don't particularly care for Dany either cause I think she's a little too Mad Queenish, she actually has major accomplishments under her belt whereas Sansa was a hostage for nearly 5 seasons and did very little to change her situation during that time. She just went along with the current instead of trying to change the direction of the flow. Dany is proactive and a get things done type of person not a big shit talker when she's safe and protected like Sansa. And Dany knows how to use what she has to get what she wants. Sansa never master this ability. She has survived primarily because her name is Stark and people keep her alive because they want the North not because of her wits. If it weren't for Theon....Reek, lol...she would still be a hostage at WF trying to put a candle in the window for so someone else could save her instead of finding a way to save herself. Oh and also, like Jon, people want to follow Dany. Sansa has never shown the ability to inspire devotion.
