    • @janellejulianajoy

These statements are technically and cryptically true.
Bran didn't want to be anything other than a Lord or soldier and after the fall and becoming the three eyed raven he pretty much desired nothing.
He was the new three eyed raven. There isn't a NK to hide from any longer. He doesn't have to be held up in a tree for nine hundred years to see things.
This was never his plan, this was his already his fate.
As stupid as much of the writing for Bran was towards the end my bigger question is why was he King period. Forget what he could or couldn't see, why him?!

The final 2 seasons were crimes against humanity. The 'Long Night' was over in a blink. Dany's snap was unbelievable. 'Bran the Broken' was absurd. Such laziness by D&D should never be forgiven.

Long Night was the largest and most expensive night shoot in history, and an entire hour of nothing but fighting. Dany's snap was the most amazing moment in the history of television. Bran the Broken was the pinnacle of GOT and it's overall message on the role wisdom should play in human society, a role sadly lacking in the modern day.

I am absolutely done with the character assassination they did with Daenerys and Tyrion just to springboard Sansa and Arya. They botched Dany so bad that I wanna cry. And people use constantly say "Oh duh, she was always going to go crazy, didn't you see who her father was?" The character assassinations Dumb and Dumber carried out on this show still sends my blood boiling.
    1. Tyrion suddenly lost all his wisdom and only ever seemed to say stupid things.
    2. Dany suddenly became a blood-craving mad woman despite a strong character buildup that needed more than just her trust issues with Jon to destroy.
    3. Jaime went from being a guy on the road to redemption to an idiot over an incestuous relationship.
    4. Brienne of Tarth went from being a fierce warrior with a purpose to a blubbering woman who can't handle her man leaving.

Hence the deep connections between the two throughout the series, such as the NK always knowing where bran was, even in bran’s visions. @@danielbrown8812 Actually he went after Waymar Royce (who had the Stark look) and Will because they were prepared to fight with their swords. As warriors they saw it as a challenge. Gared never challenged them. He wasn't a threat and they let him go because they knew he would tell others. So, basically the WWs were saying Winter is Coming. I too thought that the most complex story was the WWs and it's probably the BEST story as backstories usually are. I sure hope GRRM finishes his books so that we get to know these stories and why there must always be a Stark in Winterfell. To avoid the stupidity of all the wights pulling Viscerion out of the frozen lake, because u know, they can't swim, and couldn't attack Jon and co. because of this. The night king stands on the frozen lake, witb a lot of dead wights there from the previous litter battle, he raises his arms, as if to bring them back, whuch they do, but then Viscerion bursts through the ice, witb an almighty scream and we zoom in to see his eyes opening blue, cut to black. That's just 1 of the many silly things that could easily have been changed, like the ringing of the bells, lots of different things to do there. I know D and D can write some great stuff and its very easy for me or others to criticise, but season 8 had so many things that didn't fit with what we were told from season 1 to 7. A pity such a brilliant show, and it was brilliant, went out the way it did.
I think once Dany landed in Westeros is when the show really fell apart. It was like once her struggle to get there was over, the show just changed. There was just something off with how they wrote Dany once in Westeros. Just never seemed to fit.

The first few years of their marriage was spent apart as Ned fought in many wars with Robert. By the time he was home for a bit, he was nevertheless worried that the truth of Jon's parentage would get out. The Point wasn't to just keep Cat in the Dark, but Jon as well. @Thunderflare99 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yeah, all those Dothraki showing up after capturing King's Landing made no sense at all and was an obvious blunder. That is an excellent observation about the time/space: in the first episode they made it clear how long the journey from Winterfell to King's Landing was, then it later appears to be a brief journey. Yes, Ned should have told his wife the truth about Jon, she deserved to know her husband didn't cheat on her, and Jon didn't need to be treated the way he was.
I know it's debatable about when the show went wrong, but I think the writers fell in love with "gotcha!" moments and surprising fans of outcomes they didn't expect, instead of giving fans the ending they wanted and deserved. No one wanted to see Daenerys flip out and become the evil she swore not to be, and everyone wanted to see Arya kill Cersei.

The wall was not just to protect the north from white walkers, it was to protect them from the "free folk". Also the white walker stared at Sam, but you could argue that it did nothing because did not see him as a threat. You could also argue that since Sam is the storyteller, he simply made this up to embellish his own story in the retelling - assuming you believe Sam is the writer of The Song of Ice and Fire. Needless to say, I agree with all the rest of the points. Very disappointing end to a great story.

Probably read the books at least 5 times, I still don’t see the foreshadowing of Danny’s decent into madness. She was cruel at times, isn’t that one of the disadvantages of monarchy in general? And because her father was mad does not mean she would be mad, genetics doesn’t align so predictably. If anything, it is a marvel she still had some decency in most of her chapters. But as far as monarchs go, there’s nothing mad about Danny in my opinion. She is a young woman learning how to rule, let us not forget she went through shit. I don’t buy the Danny theory, book or Tv. - Jamie’s complete character regression in the final episode.
    - the incest between Daenerys and John that we’re just supposed to be cool with
    - Bran’s entire character past episode one (best story my ass)
    - Daenerys Mad Queen switch (again - erasing almost all character development)
    - How the hell Sam got away from the White Walkers

    • @SerbAtheist
      @SerbAtheist 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      1) Jamie didn't regress, but advanced from a cynical bastard to a true night who does his duty and from merely lusting after Cersei to truly loving her for all her faults.
      2) Who says you're supposed to be cool with Jonaerys incest? Jon certainly wasn't.
      3) Bran's story is the best, the epitome of GOT and not without accident is he the first POV character. The fact he is in a passive roal is immaterial. He is the goal of the story and not the engine. He is the one people died to save so he could use his widsom and knowledge to lead Westeros into a better future.
      4) Dany was the Mad Queen since the end of S1, when she reveled in the screams of an innocent rape victim.
      5) That's the sword you wanna die on?
