    The problem is because I am always fatigued I have to push through to be able to do anything. My body tells me to lie under the duvet every day and I have to fight it!

    I don’t “push myself” per se however if you have children or even life, you simply have to complete a task I mean, if I didn’t finish dinner then there wouldn’t be dinner and yes, I get fatigue making dinner. I get fatigued at shorter distances, but I had to walk certain distances to get XYZ done along with having two children that are now grown and they help those things have had to happen and I don’t think I could have stopped after 10 minutes or done what you’ve just suggested by finding out how long it took before fatigue I couldn’t just stop doing what I was doing with my children or they might have died, not to be too dramatic.
    I’ve been living with MS for more than 20 years. I wish I had known better or more longer ago.

      Thank you for sharing! I can completely understand those circumstances where you needed to continue on despite knowing that it would cause you to become fatigued! I hope that this information can be helpful for you now that your children are grown & are no longer as dependant upon you🧡

    Definitely secondary fatigue. By evening, my feet feel like lifting pavers. I am still adjusting to not being able to walk 8,000 steps per day.

    well thanks for that information, I have found believe it or not that doing the dishes (by hand -no dish washer) makes me very fatigued so I guess I will have to give that job to my husband??

      You're welcome! You could pass that task off, or maybe even do them seated if the counter height allows for that

    What if the level of fatigue varies considerably day to day? So difficult to know when to take rest breaks ☹️

    i don't often feel primary fatigue as i understand it. i do feel fatigued in hot weather. would that be considered primary or secondary fatigue if it is just the weather causing it? secondary fatigue is the most frustrating thing... dealing with frustration and/or guilt at not being able to get things done on time!

      Same here . When there's a heat wave, and one is starting this week in Oz, I know water and frequent rests otherwise I just sit like a lump.

      Fatigue in hot weather would be considered secondary fatigue since the weather is causing it. It's also considered passive heat intolerance. Passive = you're not doing anything. Active heat intolerance = you're doing something, like exercise or walking.
