    I absolutely love this format, Alex! Great pace - the combination of the video camera on a tripod and the fast pace of life in Shibuya with your calming voiceover really resonate with me. I can't wait for the next videos of this series!

    Great work thanks for the time you spent on this.

    Can feel the years of street portraiture experience in your street candids. My eye knows where to go even when the scene is busy. Also really digging the results on film. Have a softness that makes you focus on teh photo more than think about technical. Probably worded that crap. Keep em coming. Go Alex!

    Enjoy your first GOStreet episode! Love the chill vibe with the great music, even when in busy Shibuya there's the calm. I always have a soft spot for Harajuku, also Yoyogi Park seems like a hot spot these days. But what do I know, last time I was in Tokyo was 2005 so definitely will need to check your GOStreet when I come visit again (possibly before the end of the year I hope!)

    Solid video! First shot was my personal fav- I appreciate the flow and centered composition. It’s amazing how many people are masked up and lost in their cell phones… I always imagine this being a difficult city to practice street photography. Maybe you can try some night life exploring for a future session? Anyway, I’m excited to see some more locations and good luck man! May the streets be with you ✌️

    Great first episode Alex! Really enjoyed the slowed down tone for an otherwise chaotic setting. I shot my first roll of Metropolis a few months ago but I don’t think it’s for me either. With that amount of desaturation I’d prefer to just shoot B&W. I bet Yoyogi Park could be a fun place to shoot in the springtime

    Loving the calm atmosphere, looking forward to discover more neighborhoods. Don't forget about the videos with funny memes though, they were something really unique in the YT photography community. As for my next place suggestion I'll go away from the most obvious and I'll say Katsushika, one of the lesser knowm districts, I think the great spanish photog and youtuber Tengu lives there, you could do a nice crossover

    I liked your approach to POV street photography. The ambient and music is similar to the animals NatGeo documentaries that my father used to see when I was a child... The only difference is that this mini documentary about the most interesting animal on earth (in my opinion). May the algorithm be with you, Alex! 👏🏼👏🏼 (P.s.: do you speak Spanish? I'm just curious ☺️)

  • @nathanjohnson5304
    @nathanjohnson5304 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really like the format. Music, pacing and editing are strong. I think you could use some more practice with the V/O cadence though. It’s on the verge of feeling natural but just a little uneven.
    Regarding Metropolis, I mentioned on IG, but I really like it and bought out the last three rolls my local store had after shooting my first. I have it all in 120 though as I I really only want it for my architecture work which I shoot on an RB67 (not to mention the 135 is even more expensive). I think you made it work for your street stuff here, but I agree that it’s not a natural first choice.

      yeah, I like to treat Metropolis more like a BW film...high contrast, desaturated and green, but pops on the red spectrum. Definitely not something I'd shoot every day, but in the right situation it works well.

    Hey Alex! Every time you take a shot you lean back and it can catch people off guard making them react. You should just put the camera to your eye as calmly as possible. If you need to lean to get the angle of your shot stay in the position you need then take the shot. People wont react at all. Have a great day! I'm a Leica q2, Sony A7IV, and Fuji Xt-4 user : ) and I love your videos.

      Completely disagree. The video has a very beautiful tempo and a massive amount of honesty. There is not need to follow what 99% of people are doing and be fun 24/7 sometimes is refreshing and very pleasant seeing someone who has huge integrity, passion and talent just being quiet doing what he loves.
      No disrespect or offence but this is just my opinion.

      Depressing feel ? There is nothing depressing about being focus and work.
      Art (Photography) is a hard craft that takes huge amount of thinking and self reflection.
      Art (Photography) is not fun all the time. The creative process involved in any given art discipline at professional level is hard.
