there was a post on the leica subreddit a few months back of a guy who bought a brand new M10 on release, but didn't know to mount the lens. he couldn't figure it out
Can’t believe you did a whole road trip with that guy after he loaded your Leica. Loved this video man-reminded me of the days when you shot NYC with Joe and Roman. I’m too hyped for Sunny Side! My copy arrives next week 🤞
Just started watching youre videos. You brought me to shoot film for the first time and also try out medium format. Keep doing these Videos, youre great!!!
I think I've watched this video 4 times cause I love the chill vibes during the sunset part of the video. I also loved the slightly awkward clip segments where you and Joe stumble a bit and just laugh it off. There's something candid and sweet about that.
S60R with the Spaceball shifter, objectively the correct choice! (I know much more about cars than I do cameras, lol. But I know enough to know those portraits you took are awesome!!)
The Willem Eyeball Meter™ seems pretty accurate man! Might have to see if I can find one locally lool. (Also 10/10 for silver TLA200 on a Leica, I think the best thing about that flash is that it looks so out of place on anything besides the G2 that it's actually cool how much of an eyesore it is ahah)
Using the flash to illuminate the foreground with a somewhat bright evening background is a really nice technique. These sun set shots and that one of a cactus in one of your previous videos in particular look fantastic.
So I literally did the exact same trip as y'all in almost the same time. I also dropped by Hi Desert to see if they had any portra because I also ran out and ended up shooting Lomo 800. I then ran into Joe and Maddie in Joshua tree. It was wild seeing y'all in the same area and me visiting from Toronto at the same time. Such a small world.
You’re eyeball meter is awesome, I looove the backgrounds of the last few portraits and how you angled them, and I always appreciate when you talk about the places you visit. Your energy and work is so inspiring! A great video. ❤️
love that you include the actual pics you took! also not sure if you've done this already because I just discovered your channel but you should talk about the settings you use and the pics with it.
do you have any plans to do a video about your flash usage/tips with the Leica M? i'm not very strong with my flash skills and would love that information
Set aperture you're shooting on, film ISO, and if your flash has it, focal length. If your shots are being over exposed, tell the flash you're shooting at a wider aperture (if it has a focal length option, do a wider focal length, so 35mm instead of 50). It should perfectly expose your subject.
It’s interesting that Willem is surprised and even a bit shocked that every store is out of Portra. Ever since the dramatic price hike was announced people have been stocking up like mad (which in and of itself is kind of dumb… Portra is not the end all and be all, and, ironically, it’s Willem and other super popular film TH-camrs that have caused many who follow to think if you’re not shooting Portra then you’re missing out).
Спасибо! Очень круто! Твои видео как лекарство для души! Смотрю и вдохновляюсь, заражаюсь верой, в то, что и у меня тут появится возможность заниматься плёночной фотографией)
I always thought the same thing about Joshua Tree! the landscape is super overwhelming and is really hard to create something you think of as unique with being there within a couple of hours.
Hey JT local I think some fun shooting spots in the park would be the hall of horrors or chasm of doom. These hikes are between a piles of boulders very cool shadows and light to work with. Pappy & Harriet’s is also really fun cowboy themed spot great food fun concerts there always!
the guy that helped you load your M4-P looks like he would load his M6 like unbearably slow, nice vid Willem
LOOOL
wow
I’m over here just ROFL
💀 with this comment lol
And he got a M5 also
“sees rocks” my next book title thank you
was so good spending time with you brother. love how these turned out ❤
Joe, tell me, where did you get that gorgeous leather bag?
*sees rocks* 👁👄👁
The way he cocked that film advance lever and handed it off like it was a loaded gun was incredible.
Always good! Appreciate ya takin us along.
Those flash portraits with the glow in the back are beeeautiful!🥺
I would instantly evaporate if someone with a leica approached me at the beach asking how to load it. Good video, man.

Those flash pictures are absolutely beautiful, even the motion blur gives off an ethereal look to it.
Always excited for Willem's new videos!

Oh yeah, needed this on the Monday of exams. Bless
I won't lie, you and Joe leave me grinning ear to ear. Your photos were incredible, especially those sunset portraits with the flash 🔥

S60R with the Spaceball shifter, objectively the correct choice! (I know much more about cars than I do cameras, lol. But I know enough to know those portraits you took are awesome!!)
This... Less camera talk, more Volvo talk
Your vids just get the vibe down perfectly 10/10

@@WillemVerb ⛺️ 👀🫡
What a flex though, absolute power move. XD
Not to mention you have to shoot that TLA on full manual w/ that M!
love when my cali boi and my nashville boi burn some frames together, glad to see the gals w them too!!!
Best crossover episode!

😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Absolutely my favorite beach ever. Been going there since I was kid back in 80s. Love the dolphins.
4:50 is an awsome photo. I really like how you used the flash in those photoes, it makes them so much more intresing
Great vibe! Love how relaxed you guys are! Great to see Joe and Maddie too!
I really love that moment with loading the M4
Lunch break is overrated when Willem uploads.
how cool, I stayed out there and stopped at this exact same car lot @7:30
Loved the video! Your eyeball light meter is pretty good! Also we need more Joe Greer sightings on TH-cam!
the arc build up from asking someone to load film into your camera to having a full-on trip with them is a good summer movie plot haha love the vid!
The guy with the M6 is hilarious! He had me dying with his awkward responses LOL
Been loving the new feel of your videos since you moved out west man. Another great vid, awesome stuff Willem.
Thank you!

oh wow. you were totally in the back seat during the day my wife and I ran into Joe and Maddie!
So fun! Great production, too. I love the themes of your videos recently. Cheers! ✌️
love seeing you and joe together. that intro made me laugh aha, super entertaining video and great photos as always, willem!
Some of my favourite shots!
Vlogs are always fun 😁
Cheers Willem
8:20 that image looks so eerie to me. I love it, I would get a print of that.
You guys are living the dream
One of the best episode so far loved the energy between you guys
You’re eyeball meter is awesome, I looove the backgrounds of the last few portraits and how you angled them, and I always appreciate when you talk about the places you visit. Your energy and work is so inspiring! A great video. ❤️
Literally watching this during class lol
Nice to see you and joe together man! You guys are my inspiration to shoot film back in 2019.
love that you include the actual pics you took! also not sure if you've done this already because I just discovered your channel but you should talk about the settings you use and the pics with it.
Alter, ich wusste seit dem Bessa L Video, dass er eine Leica kaufen wird :D fantastisches Video.
I'm a car guy but love taking pictures. 👍🏾👍🏾 with the S60R. I'm on V70R # 2
best cameo ever!
That sunset!! Wow
THE REVEAL OF IOE AND MADDY I almost cried
11:42 - favourite shot from the trip.
I've been pretty burnt out on shooting but this just re-inspired me thanks!
Fantastic shots Willem!
your vids are so inspiring for me! keep killin it Willem!
Your photos are really good! I wish you shared your settings for each photo. Well done video.
Did you try some tele angles in Joshua? Like 90mm and up? I mean at time code 12:54 there’s definitely a room to explore this
really really love the pic from 4:51
Keep it up mane your vids never fail to make my day 🙌🏽
that little gasp when you saw a dolphin tho ❤
Mr Joe Greer ladies and gentleman!
do you have any plans to do a video about your flash usage/tips with the Leica M? i'm not very strong with my flash skills and would love that information
See my channel, I've done Leica flash vids

allison: "i'd buy it and put it on grailed" LOL

I love these videos you make, keep em coming!
2:31 so I'm not the only one who frames what he sees with his hands 😂
Its a great trick if you shoot wide for example 28 or 35
Timeless image at 7:48 , love that shot. Thanks for sharing as always, love your work.
Legend himself Joe Greer
"beat it" 😂 80s for life
sheeeesh, double date goals right here ✨
May I ask what films you used? It’s look soooo good!
wow @7:11 you really nailed the exposure, i wouldve nevern been able to guess that :D
Aw I really wanted to hear your option about the lomo 800. I liked them
That low perspective on the pic at 7:38 reminds me of William Eggleston for some reason. Nice
Does any know what camera the other guy uses to shoot the sunset at 4:09 ?
Dude that manual s60r is so sick
This is beautiful
Don't worry Willem had to spend 35 dollars on 2 colorplus. A consumer film that use to be 5-6 bucks 🙃 always love seeing new videos from you!
I miss this kind of content
Biggup Adali
Started watching your videos and I bought a camera haha and I want to say thank you!
the vibes are so good my cheeks hurt from smiling
S60R sounds beautiful.
Nice purr at 1:17 ;)
lmao the celeb reveal of joe was so great
I couldn’t be the only in suspense to see how the interaction between the stranger would go lol
Congrats on shooting with the Leica! The M4-P is great for flash with the hotshoe (vs earlier models)
Спасибо! Очень круто! Твои видео как лекарство для души! Смотрю и вдохновляюсь, заражаюсь верой, в то, что и у меня тут появится возможность заниматься плёночной фотографией)
Lomo actually worked very well
I always thought the same thing about Joshua Tree! the landscape is super overwhelming and is really hard to create something you think of as unique with being there within a couple of hours.
i know this is about photography, but can we ID the white t-shirt? willem that neckline on that shirt is perfection 😮💨🤌🏼

My setuppop 💪🏽
first reaction was like wow Joe...
the shift stick flex 1:18
Always a cool video, Bro!
Dude, i knew from the moment you said you don't know how to load that thing that Joe would probably appear on this video and damn i was right 😂
Lovin the vlogs man
I know no one will care about this but me but I couldn't help but notice you were driving a Volvo S60R lol I own one and it's such a fantastic car.
Loved the flash photos, any tips on metering?
soooo fire, makes me wanna start uploading again
