So I must admit I’m not a social media savvy person in that I don’t really follow “Internet personalities” so I’d never heard of these guys, but I am so glad to know of them now and so eager to read their book. I was especially happy to hear they’re also from the same region of the south I’m from, and was floored to hear Link say the word “rurnt” when I had just been thinking a few hours earlier how totally bizarre that form of “ruined” is and yet it sounds so normal and how did our dialect get so weird?? (I wanted to study this in college actually but fate was against me. 😔) Also! My name is Alisha and I always get excited when characters have the same name as me since it’s not the most common. Anyway, this was one of y’all’s best episodes and I’m so thankful you introduced me to these two! 😊
I don't really follow "internet personalities" either but from my few times hanging out with them, Rhett & Link are real stand up guys. Glad you enjoyed the episode!
It's honestly amazing how intelligent, charismatic, and funny Rhett and Link are. They are grade A celebrities, they have an energy they bring to the room and can completely control a conversation because they're just so fantastic and interesting
It's so mesmerizing to see 2 distinctively different channels work together and create something that is so different and amazing...keep up the great work James and Chelsea, and Rhett and Link
I had no idea they were from North Carolina! They seem like really nice people and as a local I’m proud to see them make their book available and I plan to read it!!
FYI, the Ross McElwee documentary they mentioned is titled _Sherman's March: A Meditation on the Possibility of Romantic Love In the South During an Era of Nuclear Weapons Proliferation_ Also, the etiquette school horror flick has got to be called Cokillion
I can't get over how great it is to see and hear Chelsea bringing up some of the best points in this discussion: researched, introspective, and a different POV in this roundtables. Love you Chelsea.
Lmao "Christie knows the salad fork." And the horror stans who count kills for a living make a noise like "THAT is truly spooky." Also: Big R+L fan and Dead Meat fan, and I'm a writer myself so this is like all my favourite things at once. Big chef's kiss.
I gave myself whiplash when I saw the notification for this video. At first I thought it was an Ear Biscuit just done in Dead Meat style for Halloween. I listen to Dead Meat Pod and Ear Bisc at work and my brain is going to be so confused to hear them melded. I'm so excited, thank you.
Woohoo small-town NC! I feel so special :D Newport, NC native here! I haven't seen much Rhett & Link content but I definitely want to check them out more now. Also, I was threatened with etiquette class several times as a young girl/preteen LOL. I was much more of a tomboy than my female friends and my mom used to say she was going to send me there so I could learn how to act more ladylike (which would've been my worst nightmare at the time). XD But yes, horror, writing, wonderful people...this is an amazing episode all around!!
This is the earliest I've ever gotten to watch a Dead Meat video, and it's a great one! Love to see Rhett and Link on here. Hoping for James Rolfe/The Rental Review crew in the future!
Wow... my two favorite channels together! I already bought the book and can't wait to read it. Horror fans are truly the nicest and most selfless people in the world.
I've never enjoyed horror movies because my fight or flight instinct just refuses to turn off while watching them. They leave me physically exhausted with adrenaline shakes like I've truly endured two hours of mortal peril, and I'm emotionally wrecked after having berated myself the entire time for being such a pussy. But despite all that I'm still intrigued by the horror genre because it's such a big part of pop culture. So when I saw you on GMM and heard them mention your horror channel I had to check it out, and after watching just a couple videos I subscribed right away. Now I can't get enough of the Kill Count format as it lets me finally experience these iconic movies to some degree without having to _actually watch them_ . Cheers, and thanks for putting cool shit out into the world!
Most collabs feel so forced but this is so easy and flowing and you can tell this group of people genuinely enjoy each other’s company. I find it so hard to believe they’ve only known each other for a few weeks. 👏🏼
Listening to them talking about how getting married pre-911 was so much easier/a simpler time in October of 2019... Little did they know how complicated life was about to get
I recently did a presentation on horror during the 60's and used a couple episodes of the podcast to do some of my research. It went pretty good, but one funny thing happened, when talking about Night of the Living Dead instead of saying Duane Jones I accidentally said Duane Johnson😂
This is def one of the best podcasts, I'm surprised I didn't see this until now, after the more recent "Cabin in the woods, what's your favorite horror movie?" vid. These guys seem like really good ppl, and I did not know of them prior to this, so thank you! I am very interested in their book, sounds interesting. I personally LOVE reading, and have a particular soft spot for 2 books written by Nick Cutter, "The Troop" & the "The Deep." I have spent a lot of time envisioning (and even attempting a screenplay) of "The Troop" in particular, but both are screen-worthy and very original. They both managed to scare me, esp "The Deep." I know you guys don't have a ton of extra time to read, but either of these are SOLID books.
I remember a Reddit post where someone was going to have their foot amputated for medical reasons (to relieve chronic pain I believe), and he arranged to acquire his freshly removed foot and he cooked it up and shared it with his friends -- as a ceremony to celebrate the transition to pointlessness and being painfree. P.S. Three years old, but amazing job all around. I shall hopefully seem out Bleak Creek. And I hope you, James and Chelsea, are flexing your creative muscles in New and exciting ways. Good work.
Good to see james collabing with people this big. Been watching you guys since friday the 13th kill counts and gonna stay for much longer hope you guys have a good relationship and keep making videos
I wrote my first speech in my college class about horror films and used Dead Meat as one of my sources. Just wish this vid came out in time and I would’ve included Rhett & Link! Awesome insight and discussion of the whole horror / thriller genre!
One of the best things about It is that it’s written realistically enough from the adult and child perspectives, that It becomes one of the most relatable horror books ever Ik this comment was super on time
Loved this so much!!! And just so you know it is not legal to eat human meat. There was a website in the late 90's early 2000's that was a joke site that claimed to sell human meat but people thought it was real and it got shut down and investigated. Also there is the case of the German cannibal Armin Meiwes who killed and ate a willing person who he met on the internet which is a fascinating story.
This is the most ambitious crossover ever since infinity war.
I dunno. Horny 4 Horror was pretty fucking amazing.

I'm Rhett, I'm link, and we're DeadMeat! Let's talk about that!!
It should be Rhett and link saying a horror joke then Chelsea and James saying let's talk about that then cue the intro
I love this comment, sounds like an actual episode that they should do by the way.
