I recently had a conversation with someone who told me this was their favorite paper Mario game and I was dumbfounded, he even apparently played all the other ones. Said thousand year door was “too slow”
It’s genuinely my favorite, and maybe I’m blinded by nostalgia (bc it was my first game, and the first game I could ever beat on my own) but this game to me was awesome. I’ve played and I love the original game as well as TTYD and both of those games are 10/10 but something about SS was always good, I liked the story line as well as the music, the maps were good and I (personally) found the stickers fun. Obviously I’m heavily outnumbered with this opinion but this is just my personal take
@@jamesmuraski1 No I can understand enjoying the game, especially for nostalgia reasons but I cannot see someone enjoying Sticker Star and disliking TTYD like the person I mentioned does
I know you pointed out that this game had twelve writers, but I think it's mostly because of the quantity of dialogue in the game and less about the quality of it. The writers can be funny when they're allowed to work with funny stuff (sniffit or whiffit, for example), but I can imagine everything else in this game was just draining to write. Anyway, it's fun to watch you play through this game! Every time I watch someone play through the game I remember how god awful the game design in it is and how many baffling decisions were made.
I like SPM but it is held back by its unrefined and conflicting gameplay. Also doesn't help that the early game is so tedious. Also, a personal grudge is the sideways wiimote as the only controller option. That tiny d-pad hurts my thumb if I play it for more than 90 minutes.
There would be no point in playing Paper Mario: Sticker Star if it didn't have the best music in Paper Mario. That's how I was able to pull through my 28-hour playthrough. In the first place, it was triggered by a morbid curiosity.
Huh, really? I prefer the music in every single other Paper Mario game. Not that Sticker Star's music is bad by any means, just every other game is doing so much more.
Why do they have so many illusions of choice? Simply look at how they handled the mario maker duology whenever a fun glitch popped up, or how they openly refuse to support speedrunning & smash tournament charities; nintendo wants players to interact with their games ONLY how they designed them. Surprised this was just an hour long though, but good job hanging in there through it all.
Only seen you pop up in my sidebar recommendations before now and I honestly assumed from the tight editing and integrity that you were a larger channel, so easy sub. Not at all influenced by an opportunity to hear my opinions on a video game affirmed by somebody else, no sir. I will indulge though.

I'm still very very mad that sticker star was going to be good (based on real leaked images and early stuff) but then Miyamoto said:"Nah,Let me cook" and cook he did indeed,And in the end,He gave us food poisoning with his cooking
@DaBaseBallZ Yhe problem is that he didn't cook. He saw what the team was cooking, scrapped like 75-80% of it, and told them they needed to make do with what scraps he left.
Sticker Star has this weird vibe that's missing from its two sequels and I'm not sure what it is. It's vaguely uncanny but I find it fascinating. World 3 in particular is such a trip (it terrified me as a kid). The game itself is pretty standard Mario fare, so I don't really know where this uncanniness is coming from, but some of these levels feel like Mario just... isn't supposed to be there.

Hey guys, I propose the concept of an easier Pit of 100 Trials. This includes all the non-pit AND unused enemies, & here’s my arrange-ment: 1-9: Goombas, brown spinias, burger spinias, smorgs, and forest/green fuzzies. 11-19: Paragoombas, bald clefts, beta smorgs, x-nauts, and tuff/ruff puffs. 21-29: Spiky goombas, big bandits, bullet blasters/bills, hyper bob-ombs, and magikoopas. 31-39: Koopas, hyper bald clefts, white magikoopas, red para(to normal)buzzies, and KP koopas. 41-49: Paratroopas, ultra bob-ombs, red spiky para(to normal)buzzies, beta weak point smorgs, and embers. 51-59: Hyper goombas, PhD x-nauts, red magikoopas, hyper paragoombas, and hammer bros. 61-69: Bombshell blasters/bills, weak point smorgs, yuxes/minis, pale piranha plants, and boomerang bros. 71-79: Z-yuxes/minis, fire bros, swoopers, koopatrols, and green magikoopas. 81-89: Goomboards(which could summon Grodus X’s and attack indirectly), bristles, hyper spiky goombas, putrid piranha plants, and KP paratroopas. 91-99: X-yuxes/minis, elite x-nauts, okorus, shady paratroopas, and crazee dayzees. On floor 100, you’d fight Kammy Koopa, who’d only have raised attack power like Doopliss, but also 3 phases like Cortez. She’s fighting alone to make up for the time Bowser fought alone. Her phases would be themed around ice, then poison, then fire.
it’s kind of a gray area. Because no matter how bad a game is objectively speaking, there’s gonna be someone who loves it and has a ton of fun playing it.
You can see the seeds of the Color Splash and Origami King writing in this game. While those games do have their own flaws, I will give modern Paper Mario credit that they got better over time.
I wanna preface this by saying I am not a Sticker Star defender I just think these moments felt like a double standard. I get that sticker star puts more of an emphasis on them being paper but the world is still made of paper in TTYD and play into that at times. (I only chose 2 moments early on to keep this relatively short) 5:01: There's Laundry hanging up in Rouge Port in TTYD right outside the badge shop they've kinda always played fast and loose with the paper rules relying on the suspension of disbelief to carry people through the world 6:57: Doesn't Peach take a shower in TTYD and isn't there water everywhere in Rouge Port that you can walk over no problem I don't see how that is fine there but water and paper mixing is called into question here ya know what I mean I know these are minor moments and don't really effect how you feel about the game overall but it feels like the game isn't getting a fair shot when within the first couple of minutes there are odd nitpicks like these. I agree with a lot of things you said like how the story is poorly conveyed and how they over rely on the paper gimmick for cheap comedy and so on but I just think some of your criticisms felt a little off
"..so you don't have to" Me who played every PM: Thanks pal In all seriousness though, I don't hate this game as much as most people do. Its probably because when it was first announced, I kept my expectations VERY low because it was the first time we see Pap Mar on a handheld adventure. At least the game functions properly which is more than I can say about certain infamous games that we've seen. Low-hanging fruit, I know.

The writers can be funny when they're allowed to work with funny stuff (sniffit or whiffit, for example), but I can imagine everything else in this game was just draining to write.
Anyway, it's fun to watch you play through this game! Every time I watch someone play through the game I remember how god awful the game design in it is and how many baffling decisions were made.
i 100%ed this game as a kid back in the day but a few years ago went to replay it but gave up halfway through the jungle world 💀
The riverbank fish Chase level made you quit?
@@CatherineMitchell-uq4sw I cant exactly remember all I know is it was probably one of the wiggler part segments
I remember being so hyped for this game after super paper Mario being my favourite and then being incredibly disappointed
I like SPM but it is held back by its unrefined and conflicting gameplay. Also doesn't help that the early game is so tedious. Also, a personal grudge is the sideways wiimote as the only controller option. That tiny d-pad hurts my thumb if I play it for more than 90 minutes.
>I've played Sticker Star so you don't have.
...Buddy, you've about 15 years too late. But I appreciate the effort.
There would be no point in playing Paper Mario: Sticker Star if it didn't have the best music in Paper Mario. That's how I was able to pull through my 28-hour playthrough. In the first place, it was triggered by a morbid curiosity.
Oh. I was also playing with an HD texture pack that was unfinished. A full HD texture pack would go a long way for this game.
Huh, really? I prefer the music in every single other Paper Mario game. Not that Sticker Star's music is bad by any means, just every other game is doing so much more.
Finally, someone decides to play peak.
Why do they have so many illusions of choice? Simply look at how they handled the mario maker duology whenever a fun glitch popped up, or how they openly refuse to support speedrunning & smash tournament charities; nintendo wants players to interact with their games ONLY how they designed them.
Surprised this was just an hour long though, but good job hanging in there through it all.
i subbed to this guy when he has 600 subs, I love this guys content hope the colledge or the whatever life is all going well!
Only seen you pop up in my sidebar recommendations before now and I honestly assumed from the tight editing and integrity that you were a larger channel, so easy sub.
Not at all influenced by an opportunity to hear my opinions on a video game affirmed by somebody else, no sir. I will indulge though.
A game about stickers? How a-peel-ing!
Grats on 50k btw6 digits will happen in no time for sure
i beat this entire game. i must have mentally blocked the memories of the whole world 3 cause I don't remember it being THIS atrocious.
I didn't have to, but I chose to do so five or six times because I love it.
I actually don’t hate sticker star, I mean I love the original trilogy and will defend Super Paper Mario my whole life, but I liked this and never had too much trouble with puzzles or battling, I even 100%d sticker star
@@kingboo4518 100% I played this as a kid and beat it no issues I like the game fine I even saw in it a second hand shop recently and considered getting it for the nostalgia of it all. I think it’s cute
Super Paper Mario let’s play when 👀 Love the content Bringle!
Members eating good
I was gifted my membership during this stream lol
I wasn't even in the stream and I got a membership
is it just me or is Mario actively looking at the right block as a sort of hint in 41:25
Bringle out here complaining about the laundry joke, because the people are made of paper. But he's played thousand year door and seen Paper Peach strip off her dress to shower in front of a peeking computer dozens of times in his life.

59:04 It says more than Bowser does in the entire game.
56:26 I know you were talking about a chatter but I got shook when you said my name out loud like that XD
It took me 10 days to realize I was a member, and it was because of this video
Sticker Star feels like a game that is upset that it got made, and is even more upset that someone is playing it.
Looking forward to part 2! This is one of the only games I’ve ever started and not come close to completing. I got to like 2-4 and was so profoundly bored, even at age like 13
Got to love that even tho you didnt crash the game you know exactly where it would of from the stutter aloine
I literally quit my replay of sticker star the same day your stream started lol also Great video
Hey guys, I propose the concept of an easier Pit of 100 Trials. This includes all the non-pit AND unused enemies, & here’s my arrange-ment:
1-9: Goombas, brown spinias, burger spinias, smorgs, and forest/green fuzzies.
11-19: Paragoombas, bald clefts, beta smorgs, x-nauts, and tuff/ruff puffs.
21-29: Spiky goombas, big bandits, bullet blasters/bills, hyper bob-ombs, and magikoopas.
31-39: Koopas, hyper bald clefts, white magikoopas, red para(to normal)buzzies, and KP koopas.
41-49: Paratroopas, ultra bob-ombs, red spiky para(to normal)buzzies, beta weak point smorgs, and embers.
51-59: Hyper goombas, PhD x-nauts, red magikoopas, hyper paragoombas, and hammer bros.
61-69: Bombshell blasters/bills, weak point smorgs, yuxes/minis, pale piranha plants, and boomerang bros.
71-79: Z-yuxes/minis, fire bros, swoopers, koopatrols, and green magikoopas.
81-89: Goomboards(which could summon Grodus X’s and attack indirectly), bristles, hyper spiky goombas, putrid piranha plants, and KP paratroopas.
91-99: X-yuxes/minis, elite x-nauts, okorus, shady paratroopas, and crazee dayzees.
On floor 100, you’d fight Kammy Koopa, who’d only have raised attack power like Doopliss, but also 3 phases like Cortez. She’s fighting alone to make up for the time Bowser fought alone. Her phases would be themed around ice, then poison, then fire.
Sticker star was my first paper mario… and I liked it
same so one day I will make a video on it for all the people who "do" like it
Wasn't my first one but it was my second. I still love it, and I've made videos about it a few times too. Imo it's massively overhated.
Hey, thats okay. People can have their own opinions, even if they are actively wrong.
@@WereDictionary None of us said it was incredible lol (though it definitely has merit) we just said we like it, there's nothing wrong about that.
it’s kind of a gray area. Because no matter how bad a game is objectively speaking, there’s gonna be someone who loves it and has a ton of fun playing it.
It is actually possible (tho tedious) to beat every boss without any Things. I wondered about it a while back and someone's made a video about it
You can see the seeds of the Color Splash and Origami King writing in this game. While those games do have their own flaws, I will give modern Paper Mario credit that they got better over time.
First time I've seen an awesome video on this game and want to play it again.
I love paper Mario sticker star, and you can't change that!!! and I already played it
I wanna preface this by saying I am not a Sticker Star defender I just think these moments felt like a double standard. I get that sticker star puts more of an emphasis on them being paper but the world is still made of paper in TTYD and play into that at times.
(I only chose 2 moments early on to keep this relatively short)
5:01: There's Laundry hanging up in Rouge Port in TTYD right outside the badge shop they've kinda always played fast and loose with the paper rules relying on the suspension of disbelief to carry people through the world
6:57: Doesn't Peach take a shower in TTYD and isn't there water everywhere in Rouge Port that you can walk over no problem I don't see how that is fine there but water and paper mixing is called into question here ya know what I mean
I know these are minor moments and don't really effect how you feel about the game overall but it feels like the game isn't getting a fair shot when within the first couple of minutes there are odd nitpicks like these. I agree with a lot of things you said like how the story is poorly conveyed and how they over rely on the paper gimmick for cheap comedy and so on but I just think some of your criticisms felt a little off
If you count how many times this game says "sticker"... What number!! I thought this wasn't a real word by the end.
Is it paper or not? obviously there's paper water and real water and there's the in universe clothes made of paper and the out of universe paper.
I really wish I got to be there for more of the livestreams, but glad my comment about the 12 credited writers got in the video 😊
Can’t wait for the reaction to Boo Night Fever
there should be a counter for the word ''sticker'' and ''paper''' in this, this is insane!
Love your content mqn keep it up
Honestly I would like to see Nintendo remake this game. And I mean literally remake every part and actually make it good
27:41 dunno if someone said this during the stream, but this is a rendition of a song from SMB3 before and after an Airship Level
"..so you don't have to"
Me who played every PM: Thanks pal
In all seriousness though, I don't hate this game as much as most people do. Its probably because when it was first announced, I kept my expectations VERY low because it was the first time we see Pap Mar on a handheld adventure. The old beta videos showing Mario without any partners was a sign of things to come as well. At least the game functions properly which is more than I can say about certain infamous games that we've seen. Low-hanging fruit, I know.
I remember getting my gifted membership from one of these streams. Loved the fish section!
🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
57:04 It actually does, you could almost say it's a...
Hotel Mario
I love sticker Star, but I also played it first when I was eight so…
35:40 for selective censoring
Huh.....
Since when do i have a membership
I mean i dont mind it. happy to watch bringling man videos early
snifit or whiffit had more personality than the entire rest of the game combined
When i got sticker star as one of my first DS games i absolutely LOVED it
And i still do to this day
Brings me nostalgia whenver i see it
I understand why others hate it
But its their opinion
And i have mine to keep and enjoy
