Just throwing this out there, at the part with the ice key, you can actually enter the code nowyoucanseeaniceicekeythatyoucanhaveforfree in the sandcastle and remove the glass blocking you from that room. Was part of the planned stop 'n' swop where at the time the n64 held memory for a few seconds after being powered off, at which point you'd slap in banjo-tooie and get all kinds of unlockables. Hardware changes canned that idea... Until the xbox re-release
My guess is that the ropes in Spiral Mountain are loaded in when you first boot up a new file, and then when you get all of the training moves Bottles "fixes" the bridge, switching out the broken bridge object with the fixed one. In a similar manner, that door in Treasure Trove Cove would be loaded in its proper place if the Sandcastle challenge was attempted during Furnace Fun. Hope this helps!
Your patreon suprised me! I thought it would just get around $90 like what most smaller TH-camrs who start a patreon get. This is a BEYOND successful launch of a patreon. You didn't even advertise it much. Guess people just really love the channel. Glad to see it doing so well :D Also, looks like Pat's identity has finally been Boundary Broken.
I just discovered your show yesterday after Beta64 mentioned you in his Wario Ware Inc. video. I watched a few of your episodes such as Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64, and instantly fell in love with your show. I then saw the fate of Banjo-Kazooie video, since I enjoyed this game a lot, a wanted this video to become a reality. Then, I see this video in my TH-cam suggestions.. Even, better, this video is in. collaboration with SwankyBox, one of my favorite TH-camrs. With all that said, I love your show. Keep up the good work.
you should show us how you make one of these episode. I am assuming you run a script that lets you control the camera with a second controller or toggle control.
Darkking ice its ran in dolphin, theres an option called "free camera" in the setting which allows you to use the mouse and keyboard to move the camera freely, i tried it myself and found some really cool secrets in some gamecube games.
I hope so. Especially after this episode. I'm very interested in learning how he figured it out and got Magic Camera™ to work here considering the problems he had with the initial attempt.
a couple things i can shed some light on, the ropes in spiral mountain are the bridge thats there when you dont know all the starter moves, the plank of wood in the sandcastle is for when your in the Furnace Fun variant of the room, it blocks the loadzone
Jeremy Higgins most likely a glitch with moving the camera. It could be on a separate layer and with moving the camera it's not properly connected, same reason why you don't see the text boxes. hopes this helps!
You guys are awesome. And I gotta say, I love how sincere the laughter is in your voice during the entirety of the video. Thanks for the great content!
At 7:15 this texture is used when u are in gruntys furnace fun and u land on the ‘timer’ icon and u get sent to the sandcastle u can see that is the door texture they use so u can’t leave
Got recommended this video because of my love for Banjo Kazooie. Super happy about finding your channel going back and watching all the most interesting episodes and looking forward to new ones.
Just found your channel...and as it seems its a channel dedicated into solving all of my childhood/early teen N64 questions about what was behind this and that and where did that go when it went off camera oh lord what a treat! thank you man awesome videos!
The ropes I believe are also part of the geometry that loads in the starting cutscene, as to save on resources. Similar storage can be found within Banjo's Backpack, and has all of the starting cutscene models just waiting to be called in. I can speculate that the devs forgot to remove this. One other thing to note: this may have something to do with the beginning area where the bridge is unconnected, if the player proceeds to learn all the moves at the beginning, rather than skipping Bottles.
Love the video's mate. You spend your time cracking games to find stuff i spam through glitch vids for. (That's how i found you're channel.) You're decision to go full time is greatly appreciated by this viewer :D
Your show is great, Shesez. It let me see the games i played as a kid from a new design perspective of the enviroment, programing, etc. of many games that hardly i would find in another place in a good format like this. Keep the good work ;)
This was great! Thank you for answering so many questions about BK's world that I had from when I was a kid until now. :) Even more excited for Yooka-Laylee than before! :D
Thanks for covering my favorite N64 game :) I remember how I kept trying to look behind walls and in dark corners in this game, and this solves some of those mysteries! Could have kept watching this for hours
How do you get the camera modifiers? Are there any links you could share? I'd like to try this myself.I ask now because I noticed you and Swanky have different results when moving the camera in the game.
I've just about beaten this game for the first time and it's been fantastic. Thanks for these videos. It's really cool checking out these games in such a way and seeing things we weren't supposed to see.
The 'tent' objects at 9:54 are pieces of a lock that explodes in the Tower Room. If you can remember, the final battle leading up to Gruntilda is blocked off by a heavy door that has a massive lock on it; once you solve the puzzle to the final fight, the lock explodes and the door opens. Also, there is a Yellow Jinjo that acts as a hidden camera in some scenes, and during the beach scene at the end we have him waving to camera as an in-joke, so there's that.
5:16 Those ropes are likely the broken version of the bridge from the beginning of the game. Bottles fixes the bridge right after the tutorial mode, unless you skip the tutorial. 7:30 Yeah I'm pretty sure that the wood slab was supposed to trap you inside when the sandcastle crab attacks you.
9:47 It looks like a lock to me... interesting 11:06 Awww... I would have liked to see the wall monsters killed from a within-the-wall perspective. Very amazing video! I was waiting for this one :D
Glad you are able to churn this episode out in spite of the setbacks you mentioned in a previous video! By the way, SwankyBox, the debris inside Gruntilda's puzzle chamber at the top of her lair is from the padlock that bursts off the door leading to the final battle.
The wood panel that goes in front of the door in the sandcastle is from the quiz. If you get a time trial they block off the exit so you can't leave and that's what they use to do it.
I remember that wooden plank from the sandcastle. It is used to block the door but only during a Furnace of Fun challenge where you have to redo the puzzle on a time limit.
I love that you did this game! Thanks for creating this. RARE put so much love into this game, it's great to see how their minds worked. Thanks for posting :)
The wooden texture in the sandcastle covers the door in the furnace fun minigame and the debris underneath the room with the final puzzle is the lock from the door of Grunty and is only down there after opening it.
Hey Shesez, it would be amazing if you could do an Episode of 'Boundary Break' around the 'Borderlands' series. I'm a huge fan of these games and I'm also very excited to see Borderlands 2 tomorrow at AGDQ! As a huge fan of the series I would like to know everything about these games and Boundary Break would be an amazing way to find some secrets that I haven't found yet :) I hope you'll read this, notice me Senpai :^) Also, really good video mate, I think it is an awesome idea to do TH-cam full-time now! I'm really hyped about 2017 and the videos you will produce. Btw, you and Andy (A+Start) are my most favourite TH-camrs and i love your work. :) Have a great day.
I'm loving this channel! I'd love to see an "Intro" episode. maybe going over how you make these, things you've learned by doing it, common terminology ("culling", "skybox", etc), and such.
The "odd wood texture" in Treasure Trove Cove at 7:13 is to stop you being able to leave during Grunty's Furnace Fun, that's the only purpose for the Door.
I noticed that too. Since he has to use emulators to make Magic Camera work, and since I have some meager experience with emulators, my best guess is the ROM file is glitched, probably from some DRM when the ripper made the file. Second guess is Magic Camera is messing with the ROM file in some way, like with the Super Mario 64 glitches from the livestream.
This was a really excellent episode! I loved every minute of it, and the collaboration was pretty awesome too! I'm really looking forward to what you have in store for us this year, Shesez.
I make the intros for Shesez. I used a program called SFM, which is free. You can see more behind the scenes of the intro on his Patreon in the description.
MC94 I knew it was SFM from the first place (due to its renderer that i personally despice) so you didnt have to tell me. But your skill is certainly improving, so keep going!
I'm working on moving to render the animations in Maya. The only reason why I can't right now is my GPU isn't powerful enough and render time would take far too long. Expect the switch by the end of the year, though.
The wood texture in 7:15 has one purpose:
Serve as the locked door, indeed, when you're in the sandcastle in a final quiz minigame.
oh ya
you first met bottles and already have a photo of him in the house
logic
I think Tooty already knew him, but called him Mr. Mole(?
I met bottles at a fudruckers back in 2008
This is your best episode yet, and perfectly demonstrates what's so great about the show. Good job dude!
A+Start Hey Andy! What's the next game for Son of a Glitch?
A+Start dude thank you!! im surprised anyone feels this way.

Hey everyone! Check out the Secrets Developers Left Behind video I helped with over on SwankyBox's channel! ► th-cam.com/video/kvcu7YItKaA/w-d-xo.html
Dude!? Shesez how did you forgot to check the game over scene of Banjo Kazooie!? Still nice video!!!
When pat said hello internet it reminded me of behind the meme :D
Just doing what you told me to do, until you do it. HALO OFF CAMERA SECRETS!!!
Shesez Mario party 7 please!!
+Shesez wasn't there a problem with culling?
Great episode! Love seeing Pat and hearing what Swanky Box had to say. I also loved animating the intro. Banjo and Kazooie have great designs!
You did another amazing intro good sir. Thank you so much!
How do you do the intros? do you do the designs from scratch? and the levels they're in?
Bret Cooper Goodness no! I use a free program called SFM. The community uploads a lot of ports of environments and models from a lot of games.
Shesez if you don't do a banjo tooie boundary break you are grounded
Wait, when I got grounded as a kid that meant no video games. If Shesez is grounded and can't play games, how is he supposed to do Banjo Tooie?
I will force him to do it
I will get a shovel
Speaking of 'grounded' I would love to see Last of Us out of bounds! there is so much to look at in that game.
It's true, he really should do it :/

I read this as grunty was saying it on screen lol
@Peref L. you should've read the d:alogue!
The wood texture in the sandcastle is used if you play the Furnace Fun version. As for its purpose, you're exactly right.
i fuckin FLIPPED out when i saw this beause i remembered when this episode was cancelled a while back and was so sad
Yea same mate
Boundary Break: Conkers Bad Fur Day?
Oh you bet

I was thinking the same thing!! Another Rare game!
Are you feeling it now, Mr Krabs? Ahh snap

At some point i will
Shesez can you do a dead space off camera I really want to see what goes on in that game
Darkking ice its ran in dolphin, theres an option called "free camera" in the setting which allows you to use the mouse and keyboard to move the camera freely, i tried it myself and found some really cool secrets in some gamecube games.
Dolphin has an option for moving the camera anywhere and I assume he uses it since I saw the text at the top left
I hope so. Especially after this episode. I'm very interested in learning how he figured it out and got Magic Camera™ to work here considering the problems he had with the initial attempt.
The Sandcastle floor closes during the Furnace Fun minigame.
a couple things i can shed some light on, the ropes in spiral mountain are the bridge thats there when you dont know all the starter moves, the plank of wood in the sandcastle is for when your in the Furnace Fun variant of the room, it blocks the loadzone
That Pat reveal was way worth it. Hopefully he comes into the camera more often.
Captain blobber hittin that T-pose dam
Its an I pose

Curious, why are all the "I" characters replaced with ":"?
Jeremy Higgins most likely a glitch with moving the camera. It could be on a separate layer and with moving the camera it's not properly connected, same reason why you don't see the text boxes.
hopes this helps!
Hannah Millership
was wondering this too thanks :)
Jeremy Higgins it's not only i
Jeremy Higgins it's actually an error with emulating banjo kazooie in any capacity. it glitches out certain letters and symbols.
Queef Sniffer Maximum Overdrive i

I am so freaking happy you decided to do Banjo Kazooie!!!!!! YAY!! Great job!
getting a shout out on Beta64 and doing a collaboration with Swanky Box? starting to get recognition. you deserve it man. great content.
Thanks dude, I really never imagined the show getting any kind of attention like this

Got recommended this video because of my love for Banjo Kazooie. Super happy about finding your channel going back and watching all the most interesting episodes and looking forward to new ones.
Pat needs his own sprite like yours in the channel logo now. Epic video, very GUH HUH!

Sand castle wood plank: That goes up for a challenge from the Game Board near the end.
7:30 You actually get trapped inside the sandcastle during one of the trails in Gruntilda's quiz, that's probably what the wodden plank is used for.
Have you done Conker? If not, do Conker.
Not yet, but he said it's on his list of games to do.
Dargonhuman Nice, can't wait.
My face lit up seeing Pat! Amazing job on this video. Good job to you and Swanky
That Gamexplain reference though
Keep it up homie, this is a great series. I look forward to seeing all the neat stuff you've got in store!
The day has finally come...
I've just about beaten this game for the first time and it's been fantastic. Thanks for these videos. It's really cool checking out these games in such a way and seeing things we weren't supposed to see.
some pretty neat stuff as expected, here's to hoping you can get Pokemon Stadium working with you tools some day!
Very nicely done! One of the best videos of the series so far! Lots of stuff that reveals how developers pulled off certain tricks!
And now we have banjo in smash
I never thought watching videos of offscreen objects in videogames would be so entertaning but it is and I love it!
Whatever you did to get this to work has made a weird change to the text: all the 'I's have been replaced with ':'s.

0:18 what sound
I remember when you had 19,000 subs, you've really improved! You deserve hundreds of thousands of subscribers! You're so god damn original!
Hey can you explain to me why in the XBL version of Banjoo Kazooie, Banjo is playing on the gameboy despite being a Nintendo product?
My guess would be that there's no handheld that Microsoft made at the time to replace it
5:16
Those ropes are likely the broken version of the bridge from the beginning of the game. Bottles fixes the bridge right after the tutorial mode, unless you skip the tutorial.
7:30
Yeah I'm pretty sure that the wood slab was supposed to trap you inside when the sandcastle crab attacks you.
Please do Banjo-Tooie Boundary Break
9:47 It looks like a lock to me... interesting
11:06 Awww... I would have liked to see the wall monsters killed from a within-the-wall perspective.
Very amazing video! I was waiting for this one :D
What if Rare decided to put jiggies outside the game's boundaries? lol
It would be Rare to find someone who got them.
they did something like that in conker's bad fur day by placing a peice of chocolate behind a cage
Noj Jon I see what you did there
Glad you are able to churn this episode out in spite of the setbacks you mentioned in a previous video!
By the way, SwankyBox, the debris inside Gruntilda's puzzle chamber at the top of her lair is from the padlock that bursts off the door leading to the final battle.
OMG, you have the models for banjo and kazooie? Where did you get them?!
You really seem like a super nice person and that's rare, I like watching your outros because it's like, here's a chill dude.
"COOL BIT" "GAMEXPLAINED" I see what you did there, smart... :)
TakerKaneanite619 it was genius
Although he forgot rumor and Laura Kate Dale
TakerKaneanite619 Yeah I noticed that as well. What a random reference.
Dude, you totally deserve way more subscribers. This is a very interesting and original series =)
1:03 So Rare=Alexander Hamilton confirmed?
The wood panel that goes in front of the door in the sandcastle is from the quiz. If you get a time trial they block off the exit so you can't leave and that's what they use to do it.
dude,I was just watching the preview for this episode before the notification appeared
I remember that wooden plank from the sandcastle. It is used to block the door but only during a Furnace of Fun challenge where you have to redo the puzzle on a time limit.
Wait, but what was with those weird perspective changes when you zoomed out the camera and looked around?
I love that you did this game! Thanks for creating this. RARE put so much love into this game, it's great to see how their minds worked. Thanks for posting :)
What if you wanted to go to heaven
But God said: *GUH-HUH*
The wooden texture in the sandcastle covers the door in the furnace fun minigame and the debris underneath the room with the final puzzle is the lock from the door of Grunty and is only down there after opening it.

also, Congrats on 69 thousand subscribers ;)
It’s 2019 and banjo is in smash

Sakurai, I thank thee.
2022 now and the world is a bit messed up!
I'm loving this channel! I'd love to see an "Intro" episode. maybe going over how you make these, things you've learned by doing it, common terminology ("culling", "skybox", etc), and such.
love your vids they make my day
Just wanted to tell you this is an awesome series, keep up the good work!
Thank you Ugly Dan!
"I need this game explained!"
I see what you did there.
The "odd wood texture" in Treasure Trove Cove at 7:13 is to stop you being able to leave during Grunty's Furnace Fun, that's the only purpose for the Door.
Why have all the letter I's in the game been replaced by a colon? for example "Prett:est" and "Sure :s strange"
It's not just i
dude that intro was cool as hell. keep it up man love the channel
I like it when you say cuckoo clock
Shocked you were even able to do this.
Man... I sure wish banjo was in smash
This was a really excellent episode! I loved every minute of it, and the collaboration was pretty awesome too! I'm really looking forward to what you have in store for us this year, Shesez.
Hey, do you make the animated intros?
I make the intros for Shesez. I used a program called SFM, which is free. You can see more behind the scenes of the intro on his Patreon in the description.
I do not! That is generously contributed by the amazing MichaelChin1994 (thats also a way to find his youtube channel)
EDIT: Oop! MC beat me to it!
MC94 Good to hear
