I bought one like this. Bike shop installed it for me but it looked used. Now I understand why the person who bought it returned it to the bike shop.. and the bike shop didnt even know this!! I tightened it like you said and it is completely fine! Thank you!
Omg this video literally saved me from walking to work today all i had to do was use tweezers to twist the metal rectangle inside the valve and all air stopped leaking out immediately after it turned thanks so much big help
Thank you you saved me 40 quid my Brompton back tire was slowly losing air I thought oh no must buy another replacement so thanks for your video very helpful

@@IvansBikesBmws yeah honestly i'm lost. my electric scooter back tire needs some air, when i attached the pump i didn't hear any air coming out (unlike the front tire), so i tried pushing the stem down with a screwdriver and still nothing. i then tried removing the whole core and still nothing. i even tried declogging anything inside but it feels free. i'm lost lol
Title says “how to fix…” but doesn’t explain or show how to fix it, just what the problem is. How do you actually get into the valve to tighten that flat piece?

@ragingpagan8847 And Yes it can be 40 quid if the rear wheel gotta come off and replace a new tube. I never thought about that. Good to point out.

I spent the whole day trying to fix the valve. Finally, I brought it to the bike shop and they replaced the tube for 18 dollars.
They will probably fix the leak and sell the tube again. Lol
A tube replacement is 48$ minimum in my area
@nathanialdavidson340 Wow that is a lot.
Bro it costs 5$ to replace a tube in my area
my mountain bike fork was leaking from the valve. i tightened it up like you said and no more leak… thanks
Glad to hear!
Thank you for this. Had this issue this morning. A big help this video.
Glad I was able to save you a tube! $5 in your pocket! Cheers
Thanks Ivans! Quality video - gets right to the essential. Will try this and if it doesn't work, at least I learned something!
Thanks. Highly appreciated.
i have removed the stem (core) of the valve but no air comes out. what's the problem?

@michelemavillonio8375
Definitely something is wrong. Try popping toothpick in it to loosen ip that stem that got stubborn.
Thank you for your time sharing this, sir ❤

Where can I buy a tube from?
In my video description amazon links. Just type tube
I'm in Netherlands for a month and this tip helped me with a comute bike! Many thanks.
Enjoy Netherlands!
There is a small tool you can purchase made especially for this task. Called a valve stem tool. Very inexpensive and easy to use.
@@eddievibbert6740 Yay ! I knew it had to exist! Will look into it. Thanks for the feedback!
My Schrader valve leak is at the base of the valve. Any tips in this case?
You got a rip in the rubber there. Time to throw in a new tube.
Unfortunately.
@@IvansBikesBmws Oh alright thanks
@@yuzaki4757
Usually if the valve stays bent for longer periods of time, it will crack at the base causing it too leak.
Thanks everyone commenting.

Tighten it Clockwise with tweezers.

With a thicker pin/needle. Some people use tweezers.

No video on how to tighten it? I’m trying to but it’s not even turning
Will do the video part too , but tbh it should be very smooth turning it clockwise. If not, than you may need a new tube.
Any suggestions and questions are welcome! Happy new 2023.
Rust prevention on fastener/ screws
@@ethingeorge4450
I usually put a drop of oil inside to prevent rust.
Fyi the valve has a stem, and the inner part is the valve core, the pin is called the needle but I understood what you were saying
Simon thanks for pitching it. I try to improve my videos and feedback does help.
I keep filling it up with air, but it keeps leaking. I think when I take out the tire tube and inflate it by itself, it’s not losing any air
@@CQ19 yup and inspect it.
