Stephen Morris was such an important part of the band. The drum beats were a vital part of the music. But then they all added to the sound in their own way.
40 yrs listening to the masters and nothing comes close even today. Incredible....Stark, empty, genius Poet. What a remedy at 2.30am. J D are unique. Thanks for the upload/share. Namaste Sir.
Yeah the version off Les Baines Douches is a different recording.. th-cam.com/video/4GxUJxA9y_o/w-d-xo.html So confused with all these different version on the same albums
It's messed up. Les Baines Douches album has tracks from Paris, Paradiso and Effenaar gigs. Although it's named "Les Baines Douches" it does not contain whole Baines Douches gig (but it's named like that because most of it is the Paris gig) . The track you've linked is from Paradiso gig and it's on "Baines Douches" album. The version we're commenting under right now is from this very Paris gig, but for some reason it wasn't contained on "Baines Douches" album
This song catapults your consciousness to another world
"Women who die for no reason at all, it's happening all of the time"
This one hits close at home 😔
Eyeless in Gaza
The Yorkshire Ripper was still free and murdering women around the same time Curtis was writing these lyrics.

Very true, it's an undeniable fact.
Think he was using a drum machine earlier than people realize…

Namaste Sir.
Amazing version. So much raw and punk vs. album.
Intense. Ian's best lyrics. The band sound so dark and claustrophobic here. Just incredible.
Out of this world
Such a sinister sound. Great stuff
The music reflects the look my face when I saw my motion fall.
This sounds so good!

Hi, i do really want to know how do you got this long version of the les bains performance?
There used to be a Joy Division music Blog back in 2012 that initially shared it and I got it from there.
@@FracturedImage Thanks, the best performance of passover no doubt.
