My guess is (as it wasn't addressed directly) one of 2 reasons we are hearing that tail (mentioned but not really explained): either it's part of the Kick Sample, or if it was a mic'd kick drum, it could have been a very live room, or very small/ reflective... compression would definitely bring out this tail and make it more apparent. It was indeed a recorded track of a rock band (the link to the actual song is in the description), good ear! You can clearly hear how different each stroke is. I don't know in detail in which room it was recorded, but the tail/reflection was part of the track and may suit the style of a classic rock sound :) Thanks for the kind words!

Are you making sure that we only hear the audio from the software and not the room mic that you are using for vocals?
There was no room mic, only two lavaliers that are muted when the track is playing back.
