Hi my friend. I just want you to know that I admire you totally. Because you take life as it comes at you and you stay strong you’re teaching me a lot See. I got a nephew that nails on the ventilator full-time because of an accident he was in and, he’s really having a hard time with it and I just told him about your channel and he just subscribed. Thanks to what you said he is trying harder to fight. Thank you so much for being you and being awesome. Keep going girl you got this. I meant. He is now on a ventilator full-time because he was in an accident where he was paralyzed from the neck down C2. Complete quadriplegic. He hates it, but I told him I said you have to keep trying to fight the win because I said if she can fight and she’s on the ventilator too, you can. And because of what you have done for me, show me all the things you show me I’m able to help him fight for his life and I appreciate that. Thank you my friend so much.

@@LifewithaVent thank you so so much. It’s been really hard because he’s just now getting used to a lot of the stuff but it’s just been really tough on all of us, but I told him I said you have to keep trying you have to keep going and not give up as if she can’t give up and she’s not giving up you can’t give up he has a G-tube right now for the next week or so just to make sure he’s OK as far as swallowing because part of a injury like his is sometimes they have troubles swallowing, but what they don’t know is the other day we gave him a Slurpee he got all that down just fine they have to do one more swallow test just to make sure he’s OK. He wants to know what type of vent it is you have he has an LTV beside his bed and his wheelchair has a trip trilogy. And I told him I said if she can’t quit, you can’t quit so now he’s binge watching your channel. Oops thanks to me. I meant, his wheelchair has a trilogy ventilator on it. He has a sip and puff wheelchair like Christopher Reeve had. He said he likes it because it’s pretty fast. We always tease him and tell them his silver bullet. He just giggles. He also wanted to know what type of wheelchair you have. I told him he should send you a comment. He goes sis, I can’t write. I said you can dictate. He goes not with my tricks inflated. I said oh yeah that’s right.

Thank you so much for sharing. I hope all goes well with the swallow test.
      I use a Trilogy 100. I have a Quickies Q7 wheelchair.
That is great. I am glad he has a wheelchair just like Christopher Reeve. There is a new documentary which just came out at the Sundance Film Festival about Christopher Reeve. It is called Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story. It follows Reeve's life following his horse riding accident. It was announced that the documentary would be screened in a limited release only on September 21 and 22, 2024, although a wider expansion is possible. The release will be followed by an encore presentation on what would be Reeve's 72nd birthday, September 25, 2024. Perhaps this documentary may be showing in your area. It sounds like a great film and may give your nephew some inspiration. I am glad you are encouraging your nephew. I know it is helping him.

@@LifewithaVent I love my quickie wheelchair. It’s fast. I use one because I have severe breathing issues and I also have cerebral palsy too. I’ve had pneumonia five times. I have incredibly bad asthma. And they are talking about doing mouthpiece ventilation with me now because my breathing has gotten that bad. I use a BiPAP at night, but I scared my poor Matthew today. We were sitting in answering talking after we had lunch. And I started having trouble breathing and I couldn’t get my breath so he told the nurse to come in there and give me some oxygen actually at first he said, give her my ventilator. And I was trying not to laugh cause I couldn’t catch my breath and it came up like it came out kind of funny so she grabs oxygen put it over my face and she’s like honey. It’s OK. I’ve got you. Just try to breathe and then she gave me some breathing treatment stuff and we got my vest out of my backpack and she turned it on for me too. So yeah as far as ventilation goes I’m probably gonna be doing that too. Pretty soon. That’s gonna be a lot of fun. Not. but I do want to see Christopher film because he really wants to see it. He said he wanted Christopher Reeves and I said sweetheart you’re like Christopher Reeve was. You survived eight hours of surgery. He said, but I want to be strong like him and advocate for people like us I said that’s a good boy. Do you know his mom has not even been there to see him at all said she can’t stand to see him like that. She wasn’t even there when he was injured not even his dad was there, but I was. I’ve been the whole time with him.

Thank you so much for sharing some of your story with me. I am sorry you have been through so much. I am glad the nurse was able to help you. That was so sweet that he offered you his ventilator.
That breaks my heart. I am so sorry his mom has not been there to see him. I cannot imagine how hard that must be. Your nephew is very fortunate to have you. It sounds as though you inspire him and keep him in good spirits. Thank you for being there for him.
