OC: I sat on the Moto2.. I bought the RS. For me it was all about the handlebars. The triple clamp yoke on the Moto2 is stunning, almost like mechanical art. But, I don’t want to spend all of my ride time in that aggressive of a position. Its exhausting. I bought a Cosmic Yellow RS and couldn’t be more pleased with it.
Picked up the Moto2 two months ago and having way too much fun even though I never considered myself a sport rider. For street riding if you take the spacer above the rear shock out it drops the seat down to the same level as the RS so clip-ons aren't as aggressive. This bike is heaven.
I bought the RS and have 152 miles on it after 4 days. I looked at all of the specs and differences and decided because of the price that the RS was way more at it's price than the Moto2 is at it's price. After the first rides I am very pleased with how it handles and the power.
Cruise control is a huge upgrade, also if you like a sporty mode but don’t want track set your rider to ABS-Road, MAP-Track and TCS-Sport. I added cruise control, heated grips, frame sliders, Sprint P-08 F1-85 air filter, Spark full ti exhaust and TPMS. Only thing left is to delete the ugly orange side markers on the front brakes and swap out the turn signals for the rocker LED.
Thanks Jessie, this is the closest that some of us will ever get to that bike and I think that that must be one of the prettiest 'bug eyes' that I have seen.
My son and I took delivery of our street triples on the same day in March, I got the RS in cosmic yellow and he got the Moto 2 in crystal white, my son's in the forces so his time at home is limited and I look after the Moto 2 while he's away, the Moto 2 is a lovely bike but for me only for limited time as it's got a quite extreme riding position, it reminds me of my old GSX-R 750 minus the fairing, if you do a lot of track days it's perfection, saying that I'd take my RS every time even at the same price as for every day riding the RS is sublime and with exactly the same power as the Moto 2.
I had ordered the Moto2 back in December. Tucson Triumph got the bike in late May. I never had a Street Triple. I do have a Speed Triple 1200RR. The comfort on the Street Moto2 is great. I got CC and heated grips along with engine protection. Its been hot here in the desert. I just turned the 600 mile mark last week. I love this bike! Great review Chase.
Tucson here too! I've got the Trident 660. I've always wanted a Street Triple, but I wanted a new bike, and the Trident was my budget. The new Cosmic Yellow is calling to me though. I want it! Maybe I'll wait for a used '23/'24 next year or see what the next model update brings. I love my Trident, so waiting won't be hard.

I wanted a Moto-2 Super bad, ultimately it came down to the fact that it has clip-ons that made me decide on a 24 STRS in cosmic yellow. Over 3500 miles now and one new rear tire later, best bike I've ever owned!
I bought a 2024 Carnival Red 765 RS. That highlighter makes a pretty bike. I prefer the full bars vs clip-ons. I need to delete my front wheel reflectors

At last a decent review on my moto 2 same colour, glad you like it mate , i purchased my bike in England without demonstrating the standard rs and when I took delivery I rode it home thinking what have i done its to aggressive but the more i rode it the more I thought this is meant to be like this and now It fits me perfectly its its not great around town but i didn't buy it for a commuter, I've fitted cruise and heated grips and a evotech tailtidy , ive a tuono factory 2019 and gth thinking of selling it because I prefer the street more 😊 love the videos btw❤
That really deep red color they do for the new Street RS is my fav color at the moment for these bikes, would match a black Dainese race leather suit with red details on it perfectly About the tires, I do not really care what the bike comes with as long as they are not dangerous, in 2018 I bought a brand new Ninja 1000SX, I can not remember what oem tires that bike came with but those were not good at all I often wanna switch to Pirelli Angel GT's or something that gets almost double the range as those Diablo Rossos and have good enough grip for fast street riding anyways. I do not want to get new tires ever year as I would have to with Diablo Rosso tires.
@@ZabDevin Yeah even though it is way to small of a bike for me I enjoyed riding it. I would much rather buy that bike than the KTM 890 Duke R thats for sure.
Picked up a moto 2 the other day for 6100. The most minor crash damage. Number 383 is about to be back on the road with a new clip on, tail fairing and foot peg 👌🤘
OC: Sat on the Moto 2 at the dealer just the other day. Can't believe they haven't sold it! I think it's way too aggressive for mainly street riding. I would go with the RS. Still has plenty of bling but much more comfy
Get cruise control and heated grips. They are amazing to make a better daily. I added tpms too just because I want to know how much the tires change when we have 40F mornings and 90F afternoons.
Triumph has been looking good these days. I wish they’d go back to the aluminum perimeter frame over the steel tubing on the speed triple and tiger adv bikes they’re running now. I get why the adv bikes want flex but if I got a tiger 1200 it’s to kill miles and wind up that beautiful sounding motor on the street. The older I get the more I realize the perfect motorcycle is the one you already have because every bike is always going to be missing something. Saw a motus 1600 with its transverse v4 the other day at favorite local dealer where I take my wheels to have the tires changed, and the welds on its tube style frame looked worse than what I could do, and I’ve only welded like 3 things in my whole life lmao. Comparing them to the welds on my z1000 it’s like professional vs 16 year old in the garage with dads welder
OC. I would go for the RS if I was in the market for this style of bike. The Moto 2 is great with all the bling, but I feel it would be just an expensive upgrade when compared to the RS (apart from the fact that all the Moto 2 limited editions have been sold). The RS, for me, has everything I would want in a bike as a commuter, occasional track day or something for a fun day's ride. RSMF.
Word of caution for Jesse : my friend has the full titanium sc project with the S1 pipe. For me, it's just TOO much and actually makes the sweet note of the triple TOO raunchy and rough. Since you've to go full system or bust for this bike, may I suggest the SC1R if you're going the sc project route? Or get the sc headers with the akra long can: best sound + performance combo though looks may not be to everyone's liking
And for context : I had the daytona 675r with the rare Akra full system. And by the gods that was glorious music, just the best exhaust I've ever heard on ANY bike! Perfect balance between being loud but not stupid loud.
the gold ohlins up front look really good on this bike but being older i would stick with the RS plus i like the colour combos that the RS models have.
I come from a SV650, I more wild motorcycle in general therms and currently I ride the Tiger Sport 660. I can tell you how much more precise the Tiger is. Everything feels under control... looks a common denominator
@@sileniu Compared to my 2017 FZ-09, this is better all around. Can’t speak for the current MT-09, however the reviews I’ve seen of both bikes favor the STR RS. That said, I believe Triumph’s fit and finish, class leading HP, and updated tech to be superior to the Yamaha’s. I can’t wait to see what the pundits have to say in a middle-weight naked shootout though.
Welp, looks like Triumph had the same difficulty as the aftermarket in building that clip on design. Looks like they decided to invert the mount direction and go right over the fork. Those really aren't low enough for track days. You'd need to rip the headlight off and use a track fairing to get the needed clearance.
This bike is still more powerful than the new R9, and lighter. It just needs a fairing. But this 765 will destroy the R9/MT09 on track and road any day.
converting the new street triple to a moto2 is interesting. For the older bike you have to change a ton. I’m curious what is different with the bar clearance and screen to convert non-moto2 bikes. Absolutely love my Triumph. Completely agree on the RS over the higher Moto2 even tho it's special. I'm huge on a simple look, the R model comes in white which I love. But the RS is better in every other way because of included extras like an included belly pan, bar end mirrors which alone bridges the Gap. Then of course the different TFT, rear shock, engine tune Etc. Etc. I currently own a 2019 Street Triple S 660 (with an SC Project Exhaust) in white and plan to upgrade in a year and a half time. I love the sound of it stock, honestly. I usually buy an aftermarket can, but I’m happy with the sound stock. (I know you can’t put a slip-on on this, unless you change the headers).
@ZabDevin hey. Yes, you can do a rear only (muffler delete) and keep the cat if you want. A full system is better if you're going to tune it or chase a few horsepower. Removing the rear half will be the biggest and easiest way of reducing the weight of the bike. Probably about 5kgs.
