    Finally a review on the CTB20. Thank you 🙏. I had the opportunity to hands on the display unit of the CTB20 in a local shop here in Malaysia and here are my initial thoughts. Its a slightly smaller version of the CTB26, which I have in OD Green. All the quick access compartments are slightly smaller because Evergoods slimmed down the bag's height and length. The width and depth still remains more or less the same from the CTB26. It's much easier to strap up the CTB20 on my back and it's much better for EDC because EDC bags usually are between the 18L - to 22L range.
    I may buy a CTB20 for myself if Evergoods can release in other colours in October.
    My travel setup is CTB26 for personal items (packable daypack inside the laptop compartment) and Bellroy Venture Duffel 40L for clothes and souvenirs. The cool thing is that I can one bag travel with either the CTB26 or the Venture Duffel.

    The tapping on the wood desk scored the subscribe - nothing like a good quality wood desk.

    I didn't understand why evergoods kept the CPL line after releasing the CTB line. now I understand. the 16L is soooo much sleeker

    I don’t think this would replace the 26 and 35 for me as far as travel goes I use the 26 as a personal item regularly buuut it Looks like a god tier dad bag to me 👌🏻

    Great review man. Really thorough. I think this helped convince me to go CTB20 over CTB26 for EDC law school carry. I just think the form factor of the 26 might prove a tad unwieldy.

    • @ECsEDC
      @ECsEDC  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it’s a smart move. The CTB is a larger EDC bag style bag as is and the 26L variant is noticeably larger.

    This bag ticks off every single need I have for EDC with one drawback being the depth. It’s unavoidable unless we are able to bend the laws of physics. Not a dealbreaker and it is categorised as a travel bag after all.

    • @ECsEDC
      @ECsEDC  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      That’s a good perspective. Lots of folks are not in favor of this bag, due to the depth but it’s called the CTB20. The PLC20 would be your every day carry backpack from EVERGOODS but this is feature rich. Dedicated laptop compartment, luggage pass through, dual quick access pockets and great organization throughout the bag. I think it’s worth the depth and weight to get all that in a 20L format.

      I think you’re right lol. My bad…
      Good news is that it’s identical to the other CTBs and CPLs. They all fit up to a 16” MBP!

  • @Jasondranoff

    For EDC work / Home do you think this or the CPL 16l is the way to go? Right now I'm on pre-order on the CPL16 which is now closed but this opened up, I'm not sure if I want to cancel and get this or just keep the order for the CPL 16... I'm so torn!!

    • @ECsEDC
      @ECsEDC  หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is definitely much larger than the CPL16. The 4 liters on paper translates to what feels like wayyyy more space. It’s quite deep and has a boxy appearance. That said, your daily needs for work might call for a bag this size.
      What are you carrying most days?

      @parkatip 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, I don’t understand how weight doesn’t get mentioned more often in all bag discussions. I’m considering basically only the MPL22 purely due to the weight.

      @PanaMaJwaaRd 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Ive heard a lot of people say that due to not walking a ton of distance, so like exercise, hike, travel walking, for edc, a lot of the weight doesnt matter. Meaning if this bag was 2lbs 2oz, would it really drastic change anything for, to car, to work, to car, home. I still prefer my bags super light, but just giving you insight of some debate ive heard from the other side. @@parkatip

    • @parkatip

      For me the wait is of no consequence. Office work travel I'm not wearing it to 3 hours a day... But If I was commuting via public transportation hours a day I can understand how that becomes a concern.

    20L is not conducive for a one-bag travel. Furthermore, there are many 20L in the market that are more versatile, lighter weight and less expensive.

    • @KelvinHew7
      @KelvinHew7 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      There are those who just one bag travel with a 20L bag. If you can make it work for you, why not? The reason why Evergoods made the CTB20 is because they received multiple requests for a smaller CTB. There are those who like the features of the CTB but 35L and 26L is too big for them.
      I have the CTB26 and I can either do one bag travel or 2 bag travel with a duffel or luggage.
      I have hands on the CTB20 in the store in my local area and I can tell you it's the exact bag as the CTB35 and the CTB26, the only difference is the dimensions, which is quite marginal but it makes a difference in the volume capacity.
      Initially I wanted the CTB35 but after comparing side by side with the CTB26 I picked the latter.
      Side note: The Pakt 35L Travel Pack is less bulkier than the CTB35 when both are packed to the brim.

    • @ECsEDC
      @ECsEDC  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I think that if you’re a purist one bagger, EVERGOODS bags in general are too heavy for those folks. Finding a maker like ULA or similar who leverages lightweight materials and prioritizes function or features is the best route.
      If I was strictly one bagging I probably wouldn’t choose this either as you don’t need the luggage pass through. But, with that said, the CTB line pairs extremely well with roller luggage.
      Ultimately it’s always user preference and needs that dictate what bag is best for YOU.

      Do you mean in the front pocket or up in the yoke pocket is the pain?

    • @paraagshah4153
      @paraagshah4153 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think that front side access pocket is the perfect place. Swing the bag over the left shoulder, open the side access pocket, and you have your keys. If that leash is in the yoke pocket, one would have to set the bag down to access it. Just my view. And one of the reasons I prefer the CTB(20) over the CPL24.

      I think it’s marketed as an EDC because of two exterior water bottle pockets, ability to store laptop, a large packing cube and Dopp kit and has a luggage pass through. It’s not a one bag travel bag, but a great bag to use as say a carry on for the plane, with a checked or carry on roller
