FYI, TSA told me the strap cutter on the raptor counts as a knife. Which is dumb, but whatever. There is a raptor response that doesn't have the cutter and is a little more low profile though.

      Lmao those TSA agents suck

@@UrbanSurvivalist_ Yup :( I was disappointed that bladeless box cutters are not allowed either.
Also, UK TSA reliably steals tools and shipping them home is not worth it unless they're quite expensive. And Thai TSA stole a Style PS from me (but only on the second flight I took in the country). UK stoke a set of six-it-sticks screwdrivers. Did not steal my leatherman bit kit... I think I lucked out on that. They didn't expect me to have 2 bit kits :p

I recently got the Leatherman Style PS and have been very happy with it. As suggested in other videos I've watched, I took the tool out of my bag and put it in the bin separately so that if TSA wanted a closer look they wouldn't have to go through my whole bag. So far I've just done 1 trip. When flying out of Orlando, it went through with no issues. When flying out of Seattle, they pulled it aside and opened/examined all the tools. After a couple of minutes the agent handed it back to me and said "no blade". Nice little toolkit in a small package. It won't replace my regular keychain carry at home (Victorinox Mini Champ), but is great when traveling.

My TSA carry is a modded Gerber Dime (disassembled and removed the knife blade). Cheap, super handy & easy to replace.

I just don’t get the utility knife thing. I’ve seen it suggested on various videos, but as far as I know blades aren’t sold separately so you have to buy a multi pack just to throw (or give) them all away before your next flight. I know they’re fairly cheap, but it feels like a rather frivolous expenditure.

At some hardware stores you can buy a three pack of utility blades

Put the rest in carry on or just buy a smaller pack

I bought the tread on clearance last year & unlike my Wave+ I’ve never used it. I wear it because it looks badass on my 7 1/4 wrist.

The 4 I carry when I travel are leatherman ps style, the geek key, the pressure cult Nomad, and the Gerber ERB. The nomad gives you a fixed blade when you apply the box cutter blade. Then you also have a folding knife.

Having flown more than 100 days a year for the last several years, there are two things to remember. First, keep your tools separate from the rest of your stuff send them through the imaging machine by themselves. This keeps them from tearing up your bags looking for that thing they need to see. Second, if Any tool can be unfolded to more than 7 inches, they could take it. I've lost two tools to this loophole in the rules. The Raptor will probably fit in this category. It doesn't matter that you can't actually Use the tool in the partially deployed condition. It is technically illegal if it extends past 7 inches, period. Good list! My go-to now is a Leatherman Style PS with an aftermarket adapter on the caribiner side that I keep a Leatherman phillips/flat combo blade in. Works great.
