Ya never cease to amaze me, Rod. Another nice wood turning that used an assortment of your tool collection, including your new Wedgie Pro Sled. The chatoyance of the wood very nice. Semper Fi
Rod, I love watching your videos. I'm a big fan of your work. Another neat project presented very well. Thank you for sharing - from Triple Nickel Woodworking.
Very nice. Great wood selection. I like that you left the upper portion of the rim unturned. Very good finish. Altogether an excellent project. However you should have thrown the dice before you ended. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
More board game themed wood working projects please! 🙂 Monopoly, Sorry, Backgammon, Parcheesi... Lol! I love this! You're awesome! Blessings upon you and your creativity!
Anyone else have a hard time hearing him over the tool noise? Or is it just my crappy speakers? Very cool video, sir. As a tabletop gamer I very much appreciate this video.
Sorry about that! I'm working with new software and am making adjustments as I go. I appreciate that feedback very much and will work to do better! Thanks you!
This could be a great practical exercise for geometry students ❤ I just love seeing how you start from something almost 2 dimensional and end with a clever, beautiful and useful item. ❤❤❤
Hello Rod, I like the way you left the castle top and rounded the sides then turned the bottom under. Very nice work. I like that wedgie pro also. A nice tool to have. Take care and keep turning. Bill Riley.
Hi Rod, We used to play Risk as a family of 5 when I was quite young. I still have the game in fact. The dice tray look great and I really like the angled rim and interior and the round edge to the base. It makes the eyes look over the piece. Great video as ever my friend. Take care Rod. Cheers, Huw
Well done Sir. I recently acquired an XTool laser and have enjoyed using it. You definitely give me new ideas with every video you post. Thank you for sharing.
Rod, Every time you put out a piece, the art world loses. The artist spreads his wealth for the rest of us to enjoy. I think it is a very one sided deal, but since I am on the winning side of the game I shall fail to complain. Many thanks for another goody, Rod. Keep the aspidistra flying! Semper fi God bless, Paul
Good Sunday evening. I will say this about your project, I enjoyed the process. I heard that somewhere. Your outside rim design is very unique and flashy. Keep moving forward. Love the scripture. Semper Fi
Real nice once again Rod. My brother and I still play Risk and we're well into our 60's. I usually win as he's just an Army puke! :-) Thank you sir and Semper Fi.
I'm not sure if you'll see this but I wanna try. I was wondering what you would charge for three dice trays? plain wood maybe just your scraps . Also as a former 11B OEF vet I want to say Thank you for your service
That’s really nifty, and beautiful. Now to make some coasters? And a set with green felt, like a pool table? Or a billiards table, with turned sticks? Or a set that looks like a mini football field? I could think of more, so you’ll have plenty to do this winter!😂
My hand was literally hovering over the Post button with a comment asking if you had done a review of the ‘Wedge Pro’ and decided to check to see if I missed a recent video [while I was traveling out of state]. More proof that there is a greater power watching over us. 😊 …
Nicely done. The only issue with not turning the inside is the glue joint between the sides and bottom. Then again that could be taken care of before the glue dried completely. But it is a dice bowl to “used and abused.” I really like the concept and the actual project. Well done my friend.
Thanks very much, Doug! The fresh finish highlighted the glue joints in a very uncomplimentary way, lol... But they're pretty clean in person. Always room for improvement... Be well!
Very nice work. At first I was wondering why you didn't rabbit the walls. Then you said you was going to the lathe and it made since. I really like that Marine Corps Bracelet very cool. Keep up the amazing work Semper Fidelis. 👽
Good work as always Rod. I'm waiting on my Edge-Pro which has to come all the way from the US of A. I will get notice as the delivery firm has to charge duty on it so they phone before delivery to have that paid by card. We had some good autumn storms this week which you would have enjoyed, Best wishes and Semper Fi, Alan.
I bought six of them (not cheap) and every one has now broken with no more than hand clamping pressure. I have way less expensive Harbor Freight clamps that have never let me down. Avoid Bora clamps... all hype, no quality. This is my personal experience. To make matters worse, I took them back to the Woodcraft store where I purchased the clamps, and they refused to replace them.
Rod, you know I'm a big fan of your work (and you have commented privately on some of my pieces), but I have to ask something. I'm only part way through the video, at the part where you're hand sanding. So, why wouldn't you have sanded the piece while it was still one long stick? That seems like it would have been much faster and easier. Then you would only have to touch up the joints. OK, finished the video and my thought still holds, at least for the inside. and, since you switch between each cut, that means sanding both sides before you cut it. Also, it's great to see you do a piece that is intended to be used (and probably abused in a heated game) rather than a "piece of art" to be stuck on a shelf. Sometimes what is needed is functionality. The piece still looks good but that's a side benefit, second to usefulness. A great gift. You're such fun to watch and I bet would be a guy who would be great to spend an afternoon on the porch with, shooting the breeze.
The sanding was a deliberate choice. I talked about it in the video, a bit. I want to slow things down and enjoy the process. I want the process to mean more than just an end product. Yep, sanding prior would have been easier, but for me personally, at least right now, not the right choice... In the process lies the therapy, through the process the end product is more rewarding. To put in another way, the destination isn't as important as the journey. Thanks, Rob (I still like using my tools though, lol)
I like as do most every video you post thanks for sharing
I appreciate that!
I love it. I always learn things watching your videos. Thank you!
Thanks so much, I love hearing that!
I look forward to your videos because I love what you can do with wood. Also I like the way you explain everything.
Thank you very much, Juanita! I appreciate that 😊
Very nice, I like the look! Kids that play Magic, would love the bowls for their dice.
No, I didn’t have trouble hearing Rod.
Thank you very much, Glenda! ❤️
Great job once again always thinking outside the box or should I say tray lol.
Thaks very much, Roger!
Makes me wanna play RISK

I might just do that, Matthew! Thank you very much and the same to you!
These are great, it’s been a while since I played a dice game.
Makes me want to find the dice and start rolling.
Thanks very much!
Very unique, but absolutely gorgeous. I really admire the work you put out. I can't say Semper Fi, but I can say Ahoy Mate.
Ahoy mate, to you as well, and thank you!
Excellent work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Even something 'not precious' as these trays were made with care and flair. And flare! How that wood flashed and shimmered as the tray turned. Lovely.
Thanks very much, my friend!
Very nice design, ❤thanks for sharing
Thank you very much, Maddie!
Très beau travail! le résultat est vraiment magnifique ! une fois de plus ...
Merci beaucoup mon ami!
Neat! I like the custom engraving.
The jig you used to cut the sides is interesting.

Thanks, Bill! I was hoping it would work, lol...
Nice! The castle block top looks cool and gives your fingers extra purchase to grip them. Been over 50 yrs since I played Risk....lol.
Thank you very much! Fun game, always a favorite of mine.
