the bear reference in the chorus is because in the game you can get inside freddy, but when he's power is low you can't get inside of him so you can't "bear anymore"

Me while trying to explain FNAF lore: [Thanos beatboxing]
I've listened to this song so many times since it came out. It's _unfairly_ catchy.
This can be said about most of Stupes' songs.
As someone born in 1982 and lived through the 80's, on top of everything else amazing about this song and video is that it's not just "80's". There are actually quite a few different styles of 80's pop, from synth heavy grooves to electric guitar power ballads and this song seamlessly transitions from style to style and captures the spirit of all of them pretty well. In fact the only thing missing is a smashing saxophone solo, but I can understand why that didn't make it in, as I don't think it would fit well anywhere in the song.
Still an amazing work.
They did indeed rent the 25,000 balls for that pit. I asked them about how long it all took to pack back up, and they said it took an afternoon to pack all the balls back up to return them.
I love so much how this song feels like a concert. Also the reference to Thriller is cherry on top

It's a reference to two characters: Sun and Moon. When the lights are on, Sun appears and he is cheerful, happy and likes to play. But if you turn the lights off, he changes to Moon: a creepy killer robot that still plays with you but in a way that he can kill you. I love that being referenced in those lines.
I was thrilled (pun intended) to see what your reaction would be to their Vincent Price voice-over. Definitely one of my favorite videos of theirs based on visuals alone! If I still worked at CEC, I'd 100% be jamming to this while getting into costume like it's for an action film - would've made the job a hell of a lot more enjoyable! xD
Oh, and you are spot on with the stomach hatch assumption. A key feature of FNAF:SB is hiding inside Freddy's stomach hatch and using him to navigate the PizzaPlex. The other animatronics cannot detect you when in there. There's a couple references to that, including "When crammed inside our leading man" given Freddy is the bands lead singer.

Btw, has anyone imagined the "darkness falls across the land" part from thriller using Darth Vader's voice?
"Your grave of arcade cabinets" could refer to a semi-boss in one of the arcade zones that I think actually throws arcade cabinets at you.
"More murderous with each defect" refers to the fact that you severely damage Monty, Roxy, and Chica, making them in some ways even more dangerous. (especially Chica, I don't think she gets easier to avoid in any way.)
The end of the video refers to the intercom at the beginning of the game. Freddy also refers to you as superstar throughout the game, explaining the use of superstar. Last thing, Roxy actually plays a keytar in the opening cut scene of the game.
There is something awesome about "modern" 80's music. TWRP, NSP, Protomen and so on. I think it is that the way they go all out.
Todd in the Shadows said something once that some songs are the best version of themselves, every little twirl, solo and hook is so well done that they couldn't ever be better than they are. Stupendium has a tendency to hit that sweet spot, here more than ever.
My friend watched this video, asked me about the Greg name, and reacted to Stupendium having a name the same as a kid discovering that their parents have names.
"Dawn Chorus" is the term for when all the birds start chirping in the morning, and it's especially noticeable during mating season.
(Stupes taught me a new phrase with this song, yet another reason I love it.)
i swear, this was the best thing to come out of security breach. its been my musical hyperfixation since it came out, and i wouldnt have it any other way. they have no right to be this good at music, though.

Its not really time travel though. Its a memory thingy that seems like time travel. But despite that, the jokes about it are still funny, so I'll give your comment a like anyways

It’s certainly not given proper explanation (even for this series it’s vague) but the thing does have what seems to be a fair amount of power with the fazcoins materialising, the rabbit overlay and the dad being essentially put into stasis for a few days so time travel doesn’t seem that far fetched
Besides Oscar does seem to have full interactions with chip and Mike and his answers are dynamic enough (as in his research appears to actually help at times) that memory shifting doesn’t appear particularly likely
@@jmurray1110 I think its like a memory entity or something. Ghosts in FNaF are just globs of Remnant (echoes of emotions), or Agony (echoes of pain). Either of which would be reasonable for it. The reason the fazcoins materialized was implied to be to keep Oscar happy and oblivious, to make his experience better so that he would keep coming back. His interactions with Chip and Mike are likely the same. But that's just my thoughts. Certainly seems more likely than time travel, especially considering how things in FNaF typically function anyways.

The other FNAF game where you play as a child is the 4th, but it's set in a bedroom rather than a pizzeria, and Freddy & co. in their Nightmare guises. Scariest before VR. This FNAF 4 Crying Child we play as also looks very similar to Gregory.
Stupes also used the Gregory gag in Fright Before Christmas: "Vanny seems to know my name and it's freaking me out "

I'm pretty sure that the ball pit scenes and "and the ball pit's been cleaned" line are referencing the first out of three stories in "five nights at Freddy's: Fazbear frights" book series, where the ball pit has a time traveling capabilities for some unknown (and probably dumb) reason. Fans of this book series often count this story as the best one.
Given it’s competition includes fazgoo and an abandoned AR game it’s not surprising

True but it could also simply be referencing the Pizzaplex itself, as it has numerous ball pits (or at least one in the daycare, there was another seen in the gameplay trailer but I don't know if they removed that one).

I can't agree more that the animation is gloriously smooth, and really pulls you into the world, so you have to watch the video multiple times to get everything. 👍
Yeah, I was anxious to see you react to this, because you were the ONLY reactor that I knew for sure had the background to be absolutely cracked up by the Thriller reference. And I still think you look very nice in that outfit, warm colors really work well for you.

I also love the part of “will dawn’s chorus be you encore” cause it also relates to the game. When it becomes 6am and you have the chance to leave, you actually have to choice to stay and try and figure out the mystery behind the pizzaplex, being your literal encore.
The animation references fnaf 1. when the office lights go out freddy's eyes glow much like they do when the power went out in that game and he plays the im going to murder the shit out of you theme

Yeah, everyone he works with did an amazing job on this one and he totally nailed the feel of 1980s rock (using 4 digits so this doesn't become confusing in 2080)
I love Stupendium's Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart song Fragments even though the visuals are just from the game. The song itself slaps though. He was moving or something so he had to keep his effort on visual work lower to compensate, but if had animated that song wholly instead of just the lyrics I wouldn't be shocked to see that the animation slapped.
Cosmo the Parrot is Stupes Fnafsona. Such a good design.
Also if you had played the games man, you wouldn't believe how many lyrics are so lovingly specific to this game and the whole series omg. The arcade cabinets have been a staple since the second game, revealing so many secrets to the story early on but keeping it cryptic and vague throughout. Basically, while mostly the animatronics are haunted for much of the series, the haunted energy still exists in all the surrounding objects. So yeah, the cabinets are very haunted. And the fictional company in charge of the restaurant chains that keep closing or burning down is so lazy, cruel, uncaring, and corrupted that they reuse parts from previous locations. Aka, many of that stuff is still haunted by either present or past tragedies.
This makes me want to break out my neon pink leg warmers and Aqua Net hairspray lol. And the Vincent Price -esque bit at the end? Astonishing! I knew that would break you lololol!!
I saw it more as Micheal Jackson’s thriller and the first part reminded me of the final countdown and the bit at the start reminded me of stranger things

I really respect you taking your time to pause and really try show a genuine reaction to all these videos on TH-cam. especially towards this video (because I really love the fact of modern 80s music conjoining with FNAF). The Thriller callback at the end was a personal favorite of mine. I was born smack in the mid 80's and grew up in the 90's so plenty of 80's music was still bouncing around the radios at the time and my family had a few favorite tunes (aside from the constant country my mom enjoyed..cowgirl at heart that she was)..and of course MJ was a personal favorite of mine. I listen to a Vincent Price cackle at LEAST once every October, and especially on Halloween, if I only listen to it once it's ALWAYS on Halloween...I don't consider it the season without one lol. I think Cosmo was actually supposed to be the Michael analog in this on top of just to fit in with the animatronics of the series because of the red outfit and the decrepit look at the end...like how MJ in Thriller went from his clean red outfit to a zombie after the Vincent Price part.
I normally watch your reaction videos just because I enjoy watching you break everything down - I'm not exactly a lyricist and I'm definitely not a musician, so a lot of the time it's "yes this sounds good, but Mr Ian explains *why* it sounds good". In this specific case, however, your pausing to go over points actually has a bonus side-effect for me in that I am terrible with horror content and it lets me work out if I actually want to watch the video as-is or listen to the song uninterrupted without going in blind and seeing something I can't process properly with no warning.
Not sure if you'll see this, or even if it's their real name, but I've found that "Double-O Oxygen" rolls off the tongue the best for the production team.

the line "When the power is out you cant bear anymore" is actually a reference to how freddy plays in the game. unlike other fnaf games, in security breach you can hide inside freddy as hes your friend. but he has a battery, and if that battery (power) runs out, you get jumpscared. so you cant be in the bear anymore. thats also what he means when he says "when your crammed in our leading man" hiding in freddy

Also, the line "Montgomery's ready to tear up the scene, Roxy's got the rock that's just got to be seen, just as soon as Chica's cleaned out the canteen" references the vices (and downfalls) of each of the hostile Glamrocks: Monty has anger issues that cause him to wreck his green room (and other property) and loses his claws, Roxy is obsessed with her appearance and loses her eyes, and Chica overeats to the point of eating literal garbage and loses her beak.
Pretty sure the animatronic Stupes used was an OC for the song. Looks incredible and wish more people would do the same. It really shows off the sheer level of creativity and dedication he has to his work.

Controversy aside I prefer the "Out Of The Toybox" aesthetic/song mostly cause it does the evil twisted toy look so well and having Stupendium as a modern wind-up toy singer is quite creative for the theme

I’m used to correcting reactors about Stupes’ pronouns, but I was pleasantly surprised I didn’t have to!
Its kind of funny he said "These games are horrifying" when the games' actual scariness have been going downhill since fnaf 4. Just shows how good Stupendium is at making a atmosphere.
Games themselves may not be scary, but the premises of Help Wanted (the vr one) and this most recent one are actually horrifying imo. A vulnerable young woman being brainwashed by the digitalized ghost of a serial child killer with a god complex in order to have her continue his crimes, and a literal child being hunted down in a gigantic empty mall by the same woman, who is now a full blown killer herself (and probably killed the child's parents, whether it was against her will or not), and several ten-foot-tall homicidal robots, accompanied only by another robot who could potentially turn on him at any second. Maybe I'm just a total wuss but jesus christ that's dark

You are correct, as Gregory you do hop into Freddy's Chest Cavity to hide from Animatronics at points in the game. However if he runs out of power, he will just flat out murder you.

btw. about the Arcade cabinetts, in the game you have to find and beat like 10 of them to get an ending

😳 my name is Gregory. That makes two real people who have the same name as me. My dad and Stupes
"Arcade to arcade, crust to crust" also fits because the Pizzaplex does have multiple arcades, and a variety of eateries inside it, being built as a mega mall. Hell, the first plans for the thing had multiple industrial-scale kitchens - not that the third of it the game has in its fairly incomplete state (it was released two years earlier than intended because of management wanting to capitalize on Christmas _that year_ and not understanding why the pandemic slowed development) is small. I've not see a player of the game _not_ get lost in the gargantuan map, and this is the small one.
And yes, "Now maybe you've heard say of some violations; But it's not been since Thursday we've had strangulations" is an absolutely perfect line to describe Fazbear Entertainment, the company behind all the games' locations. They are the definition of cutting corners, be it the uncounted murders they covered up or the state of their locations after a few years of operation or even the simple lack of proper amounts of staff or good equipment. Such a fitting line.
The characters are depicted well. Montgomery Gator, the mohawk-bearing alligator bassist, has a short temper and a tendency to resort to violence against inanimate objects (because anything animate near him does not remain so, either one way or the other). Roxanne Wolf is the competitive racer, with her own keytar and serious self-esteem issues, but loves her indoor raceway. Glamrock Chica has... we'll be polite and say 'eating issues' rather than drawing too much attention to the specifics of what it is she eats, but behind that bubbly, slightly serial-killer type exterior there's a lot of literal garbage and rotting food crammed into herself. Freddy Fazbear is the one who helps the main character, Gregory, primarily through use of his possibly-a-microwave internal storage compartment, and spends the game's time he's not using wrestling with the guilt of the decommissioned sentient mascots instead wrestling with his miniscule battery capacity. The Sun and the Moon are together the Daycare Attendant, and I don't even want to try going into what their characters are beyond the definitions of anxiety and nyctophobia, respectively.

At the end of the video and song, horror movie legend Vincent Price does a spoken word poem at the end of Thriller that also begins with the phrase "Darkness falls" and ends with maniacal laughter just as Stupes does here. This section of this song is clearly an homage to that. Hope that helps!
