Even if this sound is distorted, I can hear that it is ringing well. A wonderful instrument. Conversely, there won't be many players who can match this guitar. The greatness of the guitar can surpass that of the guitarist.

Hey sweet shirt, Norm. I worked that Mudcrutch record when I ran Tom's website/fan club back in the day when I was at Live Nation. Great record.
In 2005 I played one of these and it was wonderful, believe it or not, I could have afforded it then. I sell my 2021 OOO15SM:( I wish I didn’t have to but, I bought a house and the sidewalk was cracked up for 80 feet and kids walk from school so this is how I pay for it. It’s simple has a few snowflake inlays but super low key but one of my favorite guitars ever. Down to my Strat and other Martín Acoustic now. Love the show and you all.
Love that distortion pedal, you can almost hear the nature of the guitar. Really respectfull for that madterpiece :-)

Eddie installed a PAF humbucker from his ES-335 into his Frankenstein strat so good choice here by Lemmo
First time I saw the immortal Eric Clapton he was just a few feet away (1969) and the 335 he was playing is a dead ringer for the one at Norm's in the video. Such great guitars

Who wouldn't like to have it... I would take it in any condition as long as it played correctly and sounded right. My buddy said that he got one by trading a little cash ,and a few guitars, and 8 pedals .
Clapton's 335 is one of a handful he's never auctioned. He can't bare to part with it.
EC’s cherry red 335 was sold in 2004.

Young man is a great guitar player. Great guitar players make cheap guitars sound great, and great guitars sound amazing. Two thumbs up on the skill and the guitar!

Fantastic playing, as usual. Tone Question Of The Day for the pros out there: Do you think there's a pedal of some kind being used between the guitar and the amp for this video? Michael says he's playing through a Fender Super Reverb amp. I believe this amp is 45 watts, so its probably great for clean tones at lower-to-normal volume settings. My guess is that cranking it up to get the level of fuzzy distortion I hear in the video would be ear-splittingly loud in the store, but It doesn't sound like it's especially loud on camera, so there's got to be a pedal in the mix to drive the pickups' tone right?

I had the Gibson ES 335 in Cherry Red 1968 model,but not sure what pick ups it had, but I recall playing so many Clapton tunes in bars in Florida in 1974-1978 I used a Music Man amp HD 130 Head with the 2- 12”s 🤷🏻♂️😎 I certainly didn’t get the sounds Lemo made but pretty close😂✊💯
A ‘68 would have had patent # pickups, maybe T-tops-I don’t know when the change occurred. It certainly would have had the 1-9/16” narrow nut width. I bought an SG Standard in ‘67 that had the same narrow nut width. I don’t know what the pickups were-as far as I knew they were whatever Gibson’s standard humbuckers were. They sounded good, though-using the neck pickup with the tone control all the way down and the volume all the way up, through my Fender Bandmaster cranked, gave me a pretty good version of Eric Clapton’s Cream tone. No pedals either-I couldn’t afford them back then.
@@jfinester I’m with you and I actually had an SG at the same time along with an L6S that was a birthday present and it came from Dr Hook. I was Gibson all the way when I added my Black 68’ Les Paul Custom with gold hardware. I finally added a G&L Night Hawk ( Strat ) in 83’ which was when Leo Fender still had his hands on those guitars, but General Motors said they owned the name Night Hawk and G&L had to discontinue the line and use a new name.

Does anyone know how an epiphone 335 compares tone wise to one of these. I love that tone but don't have anywhere near the dosh $$$ to afford a Gibson.
I've heard a '64 Epi 335. Even the Epi reissues are close. That would definitely be a good investment and money saver. The tone is so close, you really need to hear side by side.
UnbeIievabIe, but I got an Epihone semi dot STUDIO (!) in red from 2017, one of the Iast series, with a sustain from 1 untiI 30 seconds in the high gain range, with aII sounds possibIe to Jazz a Ia EmiIy RemIer , as weII as 1968 Eric cIaptons crossroads. Done in China, for just 200 Euro. They are never more buiIt since , I know you can guess the reason why. because if you had the Iuck for such a guitar, why Iay 5000 bucks on the deaIers desk. This guitar is phenomenon, i wiII do a yt Video about her by time.
