"and absolutely no what shit you are willing to take" that is spot on, it is now 1000 days sober for me! Do you have complan in australia? Like a powder that you can make into a drink, with all correct minerals and vitamins, take that, you will feel even better! Cheers, p.s. i have been to melbourne! back in the 1990's.

James Shiels Isn't Melbourne a wonderful city! Massive congratulations on so many sober days and years! I really feel more settled and don't feel like I'm missing out anymore. It's a great lifestyle. I will check it that product as we may have it in Australia. Thanks for the comment.

Today (Feb 18) marks one year of me quitting drinking. I thought you hit the mark on so many points on the challenges and rewards but most of all on the process, the journey of those who have decided to give up alcohol. By now I take the health/sleep/wellness/mental clarity/mood stabilization for granted and wouldn't want to give up any of it that hangovers so crushingly take away. But the social side remains a challenge especially being a bit older, outings with friends drop off anyway. I'm proud I hit this milestone which was what I set out to do -- 1 year no drinking. Absolutely no regrets. I want to continue but also realize I do need to make more adjustments socially -- too much alone time! (And yes, I have taken up a couple of hobbies.) Thanks for the vids & keep posting. Good luck with Uni!

Sally how old if you do not mind me asking? I want to go back to studying but at 31 I think it is too late. I have also quit drinking for a while and feel I need to do something too fill the time.

Stephen M Hi Stephen. You are not too old at all. I'm actually 41 and I've almost finished my first semester. It's been so much fun, I've been well accepted and the challenge is really exciting. I still don't drink, therefore I find studying a wonderful distraction and pastime. Please let me know if you do return to study, and if you do, how much you enjoy it!
