    In Germany 110 is for police and 112 is for ambulance and fire depardment but no matter what number you call they redirect you for what you need. There are even emergency lines for poisen, chemical and other accidents. 911 is also a line you can pick because they will redirect you to the next emergency service.

    Otherwise Wiedergänger (humouring it could be translated as oh shit there we Go again) is a nice alternative term for Zombie, though it includes poltergheists and other apparitions.

    I'm gonna have to agree with others & say they're draugr. Wendigo is too specifically american but draugr works for the zombie like appearance but also supernatural spirit elements. More importantly it makes more sense for the region.

    • @Tom_Cruise_Missile

      Also their deaths fit perfectly. They died without a proper burial, which is said to be the cause of a draugr. A wicked, greedy person specifically will often become a draugr in stories. I would say the zombies are more like draugr since it’s both set in Norway as well as the conditions of there death. Greed and improper burial are said to create draugr. Take the story of glam from the saga of grettis the strong. Glam was a slave who was ordered to watch over a flock of sheep during winter because the sheep were attacked by a monster, glam killed the monster but died in the process, he wasn’t given a proper burial so eventually he would rise again and start stalking the valley where he died, killing livestock and wildlife, destroying houses and being a general problem until he started killing people at which point grettis comes in and kills glam but with his dying breath glam curses grettis.

    • @Aerinndis
      @Aerinndis ปีที่แล้ว +98

      Pretty much this. Draugr sounds more accurate given the location. Its definitely not a wendigo given those don't exist in our folklore.

      @nihili4196 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      I'm not too familiar with Norwegian folklore, but aren't draugrs very greedy as well? And if I recall correctly, they are not mutated beasts like Wendigos, but rather just hungry undead, right?

      @@nihili4196 kinda there more just evil jerks. They will sometimes jump on roofs to make people not sleep. Glam the one I referenced was a general prick before he died and was an even bigger one after he died. The story which glam was in also had another draugr named Khar the old who was a king that haunted his burial mound. The story these guys are from was written after the Vikings had been Christianized so Norse burials were seen as improper burials. You could also become as draugr by dying out at sea at which point you become a sea draugr (yes that’s what there called) you get to curse people so they always die at sea and become new sea draugr.

  • @Wyrrdinn
    @Wyrrdinn ปีที่แล้ว +419

    These "zombies" don't seem to be Wendigo. They seem more like Draugr of Norse mythology. An intelligent undead creature, created from the body and soul of exceptionally greedy, cruel men, who are cursed to guard their tomb and the treasures within. They have abnormal strength, the ability to wield limited magic, are capable of speech, and in some stories are apparently capable of growing in size and appear as emaciated, decaying corpses. However, it does make me wonder if Wendigo and Draugr are somehow related through some shared forgotten myth

    • @victory8928
      @victory8928 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      well maybe it could be due to similar observations made by two different groups that might have caused the development of these folklore monsters especially since both are in more icy climates where bodies then to be preserved more and when greed and cannibaism were taboo due to how negatively it affects everyone

    • @llamaczech
      @llamaczech ปีที่แล้ว +24

      @@victory8928right, except cannibalism isn't a thing for Draugr, and from what I can tell of wendigo stuff, it seems more centred around the cannibalism.
      They're more solidly to do with being unable to let go, hence their haunting/protecting their hoard.

    • @N-i-L
      @N-i-L ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Depending on the conditions in the bunker, that may or may not be realistic. For example, if it's a properly designed hermetically sealed bunker, then the weapons should not be decaying to such an extent. Even without perfect storage, ammunition can survive a lot longer than you might expect. I know a guy who found 1943 issued .45 ACP in the dirt, loaded it into his 1941 production 1911, and it fired. I certainly wouldn't rely on it to save my life, but it could still work.

    That locked strength thing is legitimate.
    As a young child around 11 years old i was taking my 5 year old little sister on a short bike ride, we had an adult sized trike.
    A German Shepherd launched itself over a fence and was charging at us, i set my sister on the seat standing up turned around and took a full tackle from this dog.
    This was a retired K9 officer, retired for being to aggressive and flunking out i found out in court.
    My fathers heavy over sized leather jscket saved me from losing parts of my arm but i was still very messed up.
    I was around 60-70lbs the same weight as this dog tbh and was able to force it into a half headlock while it broke my arm.
    I held control over this dog and actually tore my own rotator cuff and seperated my shoulder blade.
    I hurt myself almost as bad as the dog did and its because of that Histarical strength thing i was told by my doctor.
    I basically gained access to everything my child body was capable of for the sake of my own survival and my baby sisters safety.
    Shits real man, and i would hate to ever be on the receiving end of it.

      My heart was in my ears, I felt nothing the entire time but knew the arm was broken instantly.
      I could only repeat "keep it here keep it here"
      Over and over because I knew if I didn't and it got lose again it could get my sister.
      And I would likely not get back up.
      How does an 11 year old with no experience with physical trauma KNOW without a doubt if the fight stops they won't be able to keep going?
      That's some sort of instinct I'm convinced.
      I had no concept of what shock was at the time.

    The world would be better if we lived in a society where lactating women could get jobs selling their breast milk as an alternative to cow milk. Just think about it, human breast milk is healthier for humans than cows milk, and we could reduce the amount of cows in factory farms; reduce the amount of cows in general, which would reduce the amount of methane going into the atmosphere and have less of an affect on climate change. Women could unionize to have good working conditions with decent pay and benefits, which would actually make the milk taste better if they were under less stress. Although it will be mandatory to be drug free, and maybe have regular drug tests to insure the quality of milk, that might actually motivate struggling women to quit drugs and get off the streets by selling breast milk. Women with hyperlactation would have an outlet for their excess milk production and be compensated for all the milk they sell, while women who under produce could easily buy the amount of breast milk they need from the grocery store. Just imagine having an omelet, cheesy pasta, or chocolate milk but made with human breast milk; that would be pretty wild by todays standards. The only downside is that drinking breast milk would be normalized and no one would masturbate to the idea of drinking from lactating titties, because that is indeed a problem and everyone totally masturbates to lactating titties.

    they are strictly controlled and require a license to keep.
    however, they are also very normal, and are part and parcel of norwegian hunting culture, wich goes hand in hand with mountain type activities that are very popular because, theres lots of mountains here.
    if i remmeber right, any citizen can own a total of 7 force multipliers, with exceptions for sports pew pew and competition pew pews.
    a further exception is made for "historical collectors", who can, within reason, have an unlimited collection, though the process for that is both lengthy, extremely scrutinized and difficult to get into. your reason to apply for historical collector status has to be both legitimate and well documented.

      I'm telling you, the real reason Walter broke bad was because he received the world's shittiest handjob which made him reconsider his entire existence. Your wife yanking around your 50 year old half chub with 10% of her attention while simultaneously borderline orgasming at selling a girthy 8,5 inch vase on eBay for 56 dollars is an experience that people in the darkest bdsm dungeons would be shivering at. I swear to god Walter Jr. is probably having a wilder sex life on the other side of the wall with his sock than these two have had in the past five years.
      So when he received his cancer diagnosis the prolonged silence was not due to shock but because of pure bliss and relief because he knew that in a few years he'll likely be dead and won't have to live like that.
      That's why when he received the news of remission he was so goddamn angry. And I don't know why people see the Salamanca twins as villains, they were clearly just tryna help a homie out and spare him from this existence. Oh, but why did they go after Hank then, you might ask? Well, then you clearly don't remember Hank's handjob scene from season 4, they were trying to save him from that. Really they were the true heroes of this show trying to save people from fucking miserable, dick shriveling handjobs.
      And then, of course, shit starts happening, Skyler fucks Ted and Walt goes off the chain prolly thinking stuff like "bet she didn't give just a shitty handjob to Ted, oh no! My god, I wouldn't even be surprised if she agreed to do anal with him! While I've been pleading for years!". That right there's a thought progression enough to start a man crashing plants in random office buildings. And the way it can mess with your sexual thinking, Lord only knows what kind of cataclysmic insanities Walt was busting nuts to while living alone.
      But then Walt has a romantic dinner with Gus, realises there's at least someone who'd probably agree to have anal with him, meanwhile Ted gets paralyzed, no more anal for him, Walt calls up Skyler "I won".
      Now Walt can be smug for the entirety of season 5, he's back on top of the sex chain. So Breaking Bad is really about Walt's sexual transformation from a submissive forced-into-humiliation-kink middle aged man to a borderline sex offender to an off the rails cuck to a pure alpha male who's ascended past sex and at the end of season 5 we can see him die with bliss on his face because he's redeemed himself.

    In Norway we have very strict rules regarding all gun use/ownership. There's basically no way you are allowed to own a gun(shotguns and rifles, pistols are badicly totally outlawed) unless you are actively hunting or shoting competitively(where the few legal handguns comes into the picture, but there is no legal handguns that shoots anything above 22lr or sr22)
    Fun fact, these movies was made by basicly a group of friends from northern norway, who initially just made a amateur trailer for a sami(basicly native people from northern norway, sweden, Finland and Russia) parody of kill Bill called kill buljo, then they raised some money and actually made the movie. guns in the nordic countries are a bit of a paradox. On paper strictly regulated like everywhere in europe, but every old man in the woods has one in his cabin, especially in finland after ww2. every old bushman has an old mosin nagant and police cant be bothered to go looking for them unless they are misused. Also while on paper there is alot of regulation in norway it is very easy to get a hunting weapon in rural areas. Carrying it around loaded or having it outside a locked case when you arent actively hunting that very moment is not permitted but again, who is watching?
