I remember a couple of years ago during autumn (In Finland) my father told me how he had looked out the window and saw couple of birds just lying next to an apple ( My father has always feed the birds, rabbits and such by throwing them slightly old apples and other fruits and vegetables) He was looking at those two birds and told my mom "come look, I think there is something wrong with those birds" they kept watching them and just before my father was about to go out to see if they were okay, they kind of stood up, looked dazed and flew off. My father came to the conclusion that those two birds were just drunk 😭🤣

I was a kid who was actually affected by the D.A.R.E. ads and anti-drug type PSAs. But the thing that literally made me convinced to never do hard drugs was the scene in Forest Gump when "Free Bird" plays, and Jenny almost jumps off a building. When she come out of it, her reaction was pretty visceral to child-me. That scene has always stuck with me, especially when I was in a similar state of mind (at 13) and just kept convincing myself not to go out like that.

Both my parents were druggies, and one of the first things I tell my doctors is that fact. It gives them a heads up that I will have a low addiction tolerance and it actually gets them talking to me. You'd think that wouldn't be something you need to worry about but doctors see how many people everyday? Even the local small town doctor is going to have issues connecting with his client sometimes. I tore a muscle in my shoulder and they tried to give me a non addictive pain med, I think it started with a P? Anywho I was on it for 2 days before I went back and asked for Motrin. It made me loopy and anything that takes away from me controlling my body makes me anxious. I hurt as Motrin only took the edge off, but it was loads better then how I and my body was dealing with the other medication. Sometimes you need to make sure your doctors are listening.

It’s really annoying when every single doctor insists on giving like 5 antibiotics for a likely viral respiratory infection… or ask what antibiotics I can take- it’s gotten to the point to where I tell them to look at the list of antibiotic allergies and consult a pharmacist.
My current doctor just tells me to take an antihistamine like Benadryl 30mins before any dose of antibiotic.

Its not a pretty sight, ODing on cocaine. A buddy of mine in the 80s had a raging habit and would inject it, he'd od once a month or more. First he'd stiffen up like concrete then shake for a few seconds as his eyes rolled back, froth would start pouring out of his mouth and then he'd fall to the ground convulsing and frothing at the mouth. First couple times it freaked me out bigtime but when it didn't kill him and he kept doing it, I suppose anything can become normal. He'd pull out of it after about four or five minutes and would be injecting another hit 20 minutes later and be like "dude, you want some"? Me, Uh, no. I'll stick to coffee, energy drinks, and psychoactives, thanks.. He did eventually die from it, not ODing, but from a blood infection from all the damage he'd done to his veins which is not pretty to watch either.

20:04 If you do get shot in the gut, try and apply a pressure wrap to the wound, with direct pressure applied for 3 minutes: hemostatic dressing works best, gauze if not, and clothes as last resort. Do the same for the exit wound, unless its a chest wound, NEVER pack a chest wound; a chest seal works best, but if one is not available, pressure wrap as well.
This obviously won't save you right away, but it can help some, until you're able to get to a hospital.

For a story about a true anecdotal side note about a bear finding bricks of cocaine and flat out dying after eating it to a hilarious Reddit meme from a few years ago I thought the movie did pretty good. There were some obvious places where they could have made it more comical but overall it was entertaining. Certainly wasn't worth a trip to the theater though.
Also, I love it that the kid is named Henry that name must be getting popular lately cuz I'm seeing it pop up more and more.

All I gotta say is damn right because them boys are some raccoons on P.E.D'S because they will violate your whole existence if you give them a reason. Also, remember kids, when facing bears, if it's black, fight back, if it's brown Best hug the ground, and if it's white like nose powder it's about to be your final hour

I'm SO GLAD you mentioned the part at 24:18, the other day I was suffering a bad toothache so I took a pain pill but it wasn't kicking in so I took another after a little bit, a few hours later I took like 2 or 3 more over time since I thought it was wearing off, and hours after that I could feel and taste the medicine in my system and I hated it since it started to mess with my stomach and my acid reflux issues, so I began to drink some milk and proceeded to force myself to throw up like twice to get it out of my system naturally and it worked. Definitely made me mentally discouraged from taking those again, though I did take only 1 a few days ago since then for the same issue and it seemed to do it's job at least, but I've started to naturally grow anxious about taking anymore of those.

fun fact, there is a similar phenomenon going on at a Russian nature preserve. jet fuel for the helicopters is just left out, and the bears got into the barrels, where they huff the fumes until they pass out, and they've started teaching the other bears about it. the staff don't know what to do about it because they understandably don't want to take away the fuel barrels and be in such an isolated location with a bunch of bears going through withdrawal.
    If it's not Georgia/Florida, it's Russia.
