I don’t think we’ll get an aoe, I think Isayama will expand on the manga ending for the anime adaptation, and write it better than it was for the manga. He’s always preached that the anime is the definitive version of the story.
Having the anime as the definitive edition for his story IS what makes Aoe a better reason to complete the story

I feel like that the idea of this AOE, is in itself the story of Eren vs Armin.
Those that believe that there will not be an AOE, being that the only way forward from here to finish the story that they have seen through the manga, "Keep moving forward." (Eren)
While the other side believe that there can be an AOE, and finds various ways to string evidence to communicate their Ideas, "Talk it out". (Armin)
If Isayama looks at the viewership this way too, it would be very interesting how the show could end.

i was happy with the ending of the manga and i think the AOE idea is awesome and i am all for it. in case it doesn't happen, i still believe the story is one of the best stories ever.
Tbh most of the ANR theories I've seen make sense, but...unfortunately it doesn't mean that's the way they're gonna go. It's not the first time Isayama gave up on an idea. The ending was supposed to be like the Mist initially, but he dropped it. So maybe he wanted to do an ANR but dropped it because he got fed up with all the stress. It's not impossible. It would be a bummer, but unfortunately it's not impossible at all.
Plus if he went full alt timeline route, maybe he would have felt like he's just ripping Muv Luv, so in the end he could have given up on it because of that.
If he dropped it then why we are still getting hints for aoe, even in recent episodes

Season 1 episode 1 already shown me enough evidence that there will be a different ending in the anime. The 2 birds memory shard in chapter 130 page 7 while Eren saying "Everything is still ahead" has only appeared in episode 1 of the anime but did not appear in the manga. The blood splashed in the Hana Nira flower during the wake up scene of Eren is also present only in anime but not in the manga. As discussed by Yuki Kaji the voice actor of eren few years back, the Hana Nira flower symbolizes "Sad Farewell" "Enduring Love" and the interesting facts that he noticed is that the flower date of discovery is the same as Mikasas birthday. The blood splashed to the flower just foreshadows death of Mikasa most probably. This also supports the Red Swan and Rumbling opening, and Under the Tree Cover outro. Chapter 139 page 18 where Eren says to armin that "Next time they will meet, they will be trying to kill one another" seems interesting as well. Also, there are a lot of scenes from the manga that are shown inversely in the anime such as Mikasas turning to the left in the anime but right in the manga. There is no way all of those was just coincidence and artistic choice. I am pretty sure that Isayama intentionally include those as foreshadowing that there will be a different ending in the anime.

Don’t know why people are still dooming over S4P3’s See You Later scene. They had every opportunity to retcon Wit’s take on Eren waking up and yet they kept it, while simultaneously including the manga beginning. The mirror and the original, existing simultaneously within the same adaptation of the same studio. Either MAPPA is the single most inconsistent studio known to man or they outright confirmed three timeline theory

I love the AOE theory so much but the only thing and true fact that's been fucking with me about this theory is that ever since the first episode of this Anime. Armin (Armin's VA) as been the narrator of the story. So in the Final Season Part 4 they suddenly narrate the story with Eren's voice. AOE will finally be confirmed (for me at least)

I am new AOT enjoyer, and personally i think Isayama only learned his own world after it was adapted and put on the screen. Now that he understands his characters better, i am sure he learned a lot. So yeah, chances for something unique are high enough for this reason alone.

cant lie ive been defending the ending but the truth is that i dont even remember what happeened at the end. i just remember the bonus chapters. thats just how depressing it was
First off awesome vid, found it entertaining asf. But just wanted to say, as someone who has thoroughly enjoyed AOT since day one and loved the ending when I read it, 1. AOE has never been a potential and never will happen. 2. What the hell are people on about when they say the ending "betrays the themes of the story"?? The theme of the story(at least the ladder part that season 4 covers) has been regret and the consequences of dogmatism in certain instances. The entire message of the ending was that persecution of a people for something as trivial as the blood they posses is wrong. That Genocide is not justifiable even in the face of it threatening you, that one must not deny the possibility for diplomacy and a peaceful resolution if it exists; no matter the extremity of your own personal vindications in the scenario. Isayama made a point to show that Eren made a mistake, and one that was irreversible by the time he began the rumbling(and frankly was the moment he walked out on the scouts in the flashback).
The more they say Aoe is dead the more and more loose ends and evidence to suggest otherwise.
Well here's the thing aot has multiple timelines my theory is that the manga was the timeline before the anime that's why he wakes up crying and he's in a different spot he keeps sending messages back to himself each time trying to change the outcome for the better basically an infinite loop until a solution is found because it all changes or ends with Eren
So far the ONLY anr "proof" that I've read that was 100% convincing was the one about the panels. About how the panels in the last chapters kept changing whenever timelines changed. That was REALLY weird and convincing to notice. But other than that, everything else just seems to be speculation and coincidences mostly.
Someone posted on ANRime that all these hints about manga vs anime clothes are just there to point at the show switching from Wit Studio timeline to manga timeline; and I think it makes way too much sense. So that would be it. No anr. Just MAPPA saying "okay, Wit Studio's version wasn't 100% respectful of the canon, but with that thing we're doing, we won't have to produce an AoT Brotherhood and reboot the whole show. We just have to show that we're switching timelines to include elements both from the manga and from Wit and we're gonna be okay."
Depressing, I know. But unfortunately makes a lot of sense.
What I find interesting is that MAPPA animated both the hoodie and the cardigan. It could be that they're inconsistent with their animation or that there is an alternate timeline they'll explore. Technically there already is when Eren decides to not do the rumbling and runaway with Mikasa to the country instead
@@shawol5253 The theory I explained in my comment is that maybe they're doing this to avoid having to reboot the whole show from episode 1 (since Wit Studio's version is full of filler scenes). So they'll just pretend the previous seasons always happened like in the manga by adding flashbacks from the manga in their own season. I don't know if I'm clear.
