You can definitely do it yourself. I did my Chevy last Sunday in a total of about 2-1/2 hours. $26 for a set of four sensors and $11 for the programming tool made it very satisfying.
DUDEEEE! Lifesaver!! I had a TPMS 19 and followed the hazard button method to no avail. I found the new method in your video and now we’re programmed and ready to go.
I have done this a dozen times but this video was still very useful for me. To get the tire to re-bead, try placing those 2x4's under the tire on opposite sides (just the rubber part) then step in the middle while filling the wheel with air.
Thank god for TH-cam and China. What we wouldn’t be able to do without both of those. Everything had to go to a garage years ago as we had no idea what to do. I’ve saved a small fortune doing my own repairs
I tried ratchet strap on my F-350 tires and it didn’t help. I had to stand the tire up and roll it back-and-forth with air running (with valve stem core removed) until it’s sealed.
For putting air on the tire, i use straps with the wrench. The one for hold jetsky... and the best way to put air on the tire like that is without stems and then, like you did, put the stems back. You did a good job thank for the video
Thank you for this video. I took my 2016 f150 to our tire place here discount tire and got new sensors for all 4 wheels. They guy told me i just needed to drive ot around and it would work, needless to say it didnt.. so i saw your video and the relearn sensor did the trick. Again thank sir
Just tried this and it worked however I found that the best way to rebead the tire was the old lighter fluid method. I used brake cleaner and it still worked flawlessly
You are the Man. Great video. I also have a 2016 F150 ecoboost needing to replace all 4 tire pressure sensors. Great demonstration. will be tackling this soon. Thank you sir.
Looking at doing this for a failed sensor on my 2015 F-150 but it has the push button start. You have key start or push button? Wondering if relearn procedure is similar.
Use a racket strap around the tire and boom it will help don’t add to much air bc you’ll have to cut the strap but that’s how we do it with our mowers and done it before
Good job! And you’ve answered my question which I’ve been having trouble with which was “can I just replace the electronics without changing the valve stem ? “ Next time you’re trying to seal a bead, take a piece of rope or something, and go around the center of the treads of the tire, then twist it with something like a tourniquet. This will push the center of the tire in and make the bead come in contact with the rim better. Now I have a new question… Did you buy your clone with all the money you saved by not going to the dealership? Great job American man. 🇺🇸
I have used the trailer hitch trick, but I used the hitch on my other truck that had all 4 wheels on the ground. That bead breaker tool is neat, but 100 bucks strikes me as a lot.
About the easiest way to rebead a tire if you don't have a huge blast of air is to put a ratchet strap around the tread and tighten it down till the beads on the tire push out sone. You might have to push on the tread if the beads not making contact. Works about 90% of the time with most tires, I've done it from motorcycle to lawnmower tires.
Man I waited 2 weeks for the TPMS-19 tool and this method still does not work on my 2015 Lariat. I can get into the training mode as shown, but when I press the button on the transmitter...nothing. Help!
Im going to try this method since I tried the other methods and even bought the ford TPMS sensor and it didnt work as I was told to do it in your 2nd attempt. Hope the 3rd method works.
I tried checking to see if I could wake up the current sensors since they are only about 30k miles old. 1 worked, others wouldnt respond. So now I need to replace them anyway then Ill try this method after I replace them.
I just purchased new sensors and Module on EBay($75)that reads the uninstalled sensors and fools the Computer into thinking TPMS are fine. I just keep it in the Glovebox and I’ll replace the sensors when I need new tires in a few years at that time , bonus I use it on my winter tires that don’t have sensors installed and vehicle thinks all is normal
Yeah they’re annoying. My 3 cars before this one never had them and I drove fine for years. If a tire was a little low or went flat, we figured it out without stupid sensors 😂
Yeah, complaining about 120 each. He spent less than 200 bucks for all four. Even if it would've been an even 200 he's still saving money dude. It was totally worth it.
Thanks for the video. The local tire shop wants $50 per tire to do all 4 on my 2016 Explorer. Your video convinced me that it's a pretty good deal.
Dam I’m getting quoted $150
You can definitely do it yourself. I did my Chevy last Sunday in a total of about 2-1/2 hours. $26 for a set of four sensors and $11 for the programming tool made it very satisfying.
Yeahhhh I can do this my self.. buuuut I’m with you lol
DUDEEEE! Lifesaver!! I had a TPMS 19 and followed the hazard button method to no avail.
I found the new method in your video and now we’re programmed and ready to go.
That’s awesome bro. Glad you got it working 🤝
Did you have to buy the learning tool?
I have done this a dozen times but this video was still very useful for me. To get the tire to re-bead, try placing those 2x4's under the tire on opposite sides (just the rubber part) then step in the middle while filling the wheel with air.
I have a 2018 F150. Hazard method did not work. Almost gave up. Second method worked. Huge relief to have it done. Thank you for the video!!!
Glad you got it fixed brother 🤝
Do you have push button start?
@ no, is key only start
Thank god for TH-cam and China. What we wouldn’t be able to do without both of those. Everything had to go to a garage years ago as we had no idea what to do. I’ve saved a small fortune doing my own repairs
Ive done it years ago. I watched for a refresher. Great video. To the point, good tips.
Thanks brother! Glad it was helpful! 💪
The easiest way to rebead a tire is a ratchet strap around the tread

Thanks, I had the same problem with trying to get the new sensors to work til I saw your video. All good now.
Great video. What a pain to program the new sensors.
Thanks! Yeah it was an ordeal.
@@thefiXfiles Can you replace the tpms with a regular valve stem? I have newer wheels on an older car.
so detailed, great video, helped with my explorer!
Just tried this and it worked however I found that the best way to rebead the tire was the old lighter fluid method. I used brake cleaner and it still worked flawlessly
Nice video. I have one tire sensor on my 2015 F-150 that has failed. Probably a dead battery. So it’s time to replace them all.
Good luck! I don’t do much car stuff so it was harder work than I’m used to. Still worth it to save the money though.
I second the ratchet strap around the tire method. You can also use a piece of rope and a stick, put the stick through the knot and twist.
Extremely helpful. Thank you for taking the time to do this video.
Shrader valve core can be removed with needle nose pliers. Keeping the core out while setting the bead will assist as it can get air in much faster.
Good tip. Will keep that in mind.
Great video, well presented and explained. I am going to go for it and save the $ the dealer wanted. Keep up the good work!!!
You are the Man. Great video. I also have a 2016 F150 ecoboost needing to replace all 4 tire pressure sensors. Great demonstration. will be tackling this soon. Thank you sir.
Good luck with your project. Hope it all goes smooth!
How’d it go? I can’t get the new sensors to accept the training smh
Thank you for the details, much appriciated. You forgot your core removal tool on the side step btw :D.
Training the tyres was like putting in chest codes into computer games from the 90s.
Great tutorial!
lol I think Ford hired the cheat code guy 😂
Amazing video thank you sir! Just finished the job and worked beautifully- 2015 Ford F-150 fx4
Heck yeah man that’s awesome. Glad you got em fixed up 💪

Good idea. Will remember that for the next one of these
Good job! And you’ve answered my question which I’ve been having trouble with which was “can I just replace the electronics without changing the valve stem ? “

i like your tourniquet idea - i realize it's prob not your idea, but thanks either way
I have used the trailer hitch trick, but I used the hitch on my other truck that had all 4 wheels on the ground. That bead breaker tool is neat, but 100 bucks strikes me as a lot.
Nicely done.
Great job sir.
You save my $60 around.
Thank you ❤🎉
awesome...thanks for sharing. God bless ya!!!!
You’re welcome brother. Hope your project goes well. God bless. 🤝
Super helpful. Thank you.
Awesome thank you
Mine is ‘22 but with older tires n rims from previous truck
Did that method works for you? I have a 24’ and have the same problem
thanks for sharing
It really does work and save me a lot
That’s awesome man. Glad you got them fixed 💪
Man programing that sensor to work was me testing out GTA cheat codes when I was a teen lmao
For real. The whole time I was doing it I was thinking “there’s no way this is gonna work.” Was amazed when it actually did 😂

Yeah I’ll give that a try the next time I have to set a bead. Hopefully I’m an old man by then 😂 👴

man, Great video! Do you have any other videos of car modules? Would love to discuss them with you
Great video. Thanks for your help. 🍻
Thanks! Glad it helped
Yep at 5:39 you drove of with the keys on the step rail. but hey really helpful this vid
The keys? It looks more like the valve stem removal tool to me. :)
Excellent job
Thanks brother 🤜🤛
Great vid definitely learned a thing or two
Awesome video! Thank you
does the mounting screw have certain torque speac? like 4nm? Thanks🎉
pure legend
Thanks brother that means a lot. Glad it helped!
2 years I had that code ,ahhhhh
Gone! Finally
Im going to try this method since I tried the other methods and even bought the ford TPMS sensor and it didnt work as I was told to do it in your 2nd attempt. Hope the 3rd method works.
Did it work?

What do you do if you don’t have a key ignition?! How do you train it?
Great video.
Thanks for sharing.
New subscriber here
Thanks for the kind words! And I appreciate the sub!
Thanks you. I have the exact same truck and color.
Can you replace the tpms with a regular valve stem?
No, I don’t think so. These valve stems have threads on the inside also to accept that screw holding the electronics. Regular valve stems don’t.
Setting the bead, shoot a few squirts of starting fluid and a long bbq lighter it'll set the bead instantly
Lol man I set a lawn mower tire on fire doing that and was scared to ever try it again 😂
Do we need to get original ford parts or can after market tite pressure sensor is just as good? Motorcraft parts wayy too expensive
I bought a set of Motorcraft TPMS sensors for $32.
very well done. I can do this.
This seems like a huge amount of work. I have this problem and called Discount Tires. they will replace the sensors for $62 each.
Sounds like a good deal. I would have gladly let someone else do all that for $62
$62 each is $248, this cost about $45. It did take me about 3 1/2 hours. It depends on what you want to spend your money on.
Nice video good job!
Thanks! Hope it helps if you’re doing the same job
Awesome 👌 👍 very helpful 🤜💥🤛
Wrap a strap around the tire and tighten down to get the bead to reseal
Yeah I’ll have to try that next time. Haven’t done that before but have seen a few people here say it works
why are replaced all of them?
Looks like I'll be paying the dealership to handle this. Thanks! lol
I can’t blame you man. It was a pain in the butt for sure. There’s a reason I ignored it for like 2 years 😂
Brilliant work.....What a royal pain in the ass these things are.
It really is. I hope they last forever because I don’t think I can stomach doing that again lol
You could have done it on the the truck. It is usually faster to fill with the valve core removed..
You don’t need to have the Tyre upright and keep wiggling it. Just lay it flat on the floor. Air will do the rest!
Man thats alot of work to get rid of the annoying light
Ratchet strap around tire to reinstall
Just buy a tire pressure gauge at the dollar store . Those sensor gauges are useless.
Yeah they’re annoying. My 3 cars before this one never had them and I drove fine for years. If a tire was a little low or went flat, we figured it out without stupid sensors 😂
Efficient work, but worth the $60 bucks per tire Discount Tire wants to charge me.
$60 per tire isn’t too bad. Much better than I got quoted. It’s good exercise though lol
Belle Tire wants $320 for the whole set
Yeah that’s a bit more reasonable than I was quoted.
Handsome clone did better lol
Bros complaining about 120 buck but the first 2 mins he’s already spend 104
K take it to the shop and let me know if you come out cheaper 🫶
Yeah, complaining about 120 each. He spent less than 200 bucks for all four. Even if it would've been an even 200 he's still saving money dude. It was totally worth it.
Now what happens when you rotate your tires ?
