At the funeral his wife looked like the cat that ate the rat, surrounded by girlfriends all dressed to the nines and smiling. I laughed to myself because I knew he had used lawyers in England and Thailand to protect his wealth.....she was already spending....but the lawyers will tell her she gets nothing😂. Hallo !
In Santa Monica 1982-a 79 years old man killed himself in his new red Eldorado-in a parking lot- one shot in the head-the gun was still attached to his hand-never forget it-when the coroner came he told me this happens alot!

Moved to Thailand in Feb, 2017. Toi moved in with him in Feb, 2018. He died in Feb/Mar, 2021, a full three years after she moved in with him. If her intent had been to kill him and take his money all along, she could have done it much faster than three years! 😂 Did something fishy occur? Mabye. But we know that "John" was at least 74 years old when he died. (He had been 70 when his wife died, at 66.) His wife died of lung cancer, which almost certainly means she had been a smoker. That suggests he probably had been, too. When he was born..... probably somewhere around 1947...... his life expectancy was 73. His wife's, if born the same year, was 79........ (but she died at 66!) Sorry, but there's nothing UNUSUAL about him dying at [at least] 74 years old! But remember, if they had been in America and she had been a American woman....... unless he had a will that said otherwise...... she would have inherited all his assets, and been eligible to receive his full Social Security payments! That's what spouses get, regardless of how long they've been together (unless a will says otherwise.) Should we assume, therefore, that the American woman did him in? 😂 Think about it, eh? 😂 Cheers!
I'm not completely convinced. It's normal to have family move into your home in Thailand. I suspect that his daughter, already being convinced something was wrong, was less than polite with Toy which may have made everyone uncomfortable.

Im not saying it doesn’t happen but this comment section is suggesting that it’s more common than not. That is a gross exaggeration. People have got to advocate for themselves or they will be taken advantage of, sometimes only a little bit for a short time and sometimes significantly as in the story shared in this video. Anybody retiring in any other country than their home country MUST keep their eyes open to the realities at play. Common sense goes a long way. If it feels to good to be true, be suspicious. Stick to the more mature members of the opposite sex. That doesn’t mean there are no bad mature women, just that the percentage of bad ones will increase as their age gets younger. In the end, people can only take advantage of you if you let them.
Something very similar happened to me and my three brothers, and coincidentally my father is 91 , but it happened over a longer period of time and the woman is also American… her fully functional adult son is living with them , he owned a house here and a condo in Florida which she convinced him to sell her for $1.00 each,..her name is on his bank account and just last month she convinced him to marry her ( he must have never told her he took “ Option A “ on his pension and that his pension dies with him ) I’d like to be a fly on the wall after he passes way, I immediately notify the retirement board and those zeros show up in her bank acct the next month …. Anyway .. I blame it on two colors ….pink and green

First of all, don't trust in anyone if u don't speak her native language. All hidden nuances can get caught in a conversation. Red flags will be appear in a relationship but if u re blind with love and no reason, you will miss them. Second, never buy a property on the name of girlfriend or wife, prefer to live in a rental house. Third, if u re old, just live ur life far from relationships that most of them will be based on money not genuinely caring an love. Don t be stupid that someone will take care of you in a older age. And last one, nobody gives a shit about you, if u re foreign in any country.

This aint the first and wont be the last.... these stories are as common as dirt.
True
Dont put the house in your wife's or girlfriends name till after your death Get a male friend as your Thai partner Make him the executor If he is suspicious, she gets nothing Also he can just allow her to live there but she cannot sell it or borrow against it. Protect yourself
Good ideas. I know another guy here lost a house he bought that he put in partners name. Luckily that all he lost

I was also in bangkok and this thai girl was all sweet to me and took care of me for a week or so then I left $12,000 baht ($400) on the dresser the day I was flying home and it was gone. I felt so cheated that I came back a few months later to see if she was sorry and she did it again. I am gonna give her another chance in a few months.
Give her another chance? Lol

There is no doubt that his death was "suspicious" and unwarranted BUT guys do the darndest things here. Because someone speaks your language does not mean it is sincere. If you do not speak the language (assumption) this just heightens the problems especially if you end up "in the village". Disclaimer here, I think this "story" could be repeated in just about any country on the planet but far less likely on home ground as intuition will generally tell you "something just ain't right".

When you meet a Thai woman who's 45 and works in a massage shop her future prospects probably weren't great. I think she turned him into her retirement plan.
Yep. Unfortunately that happens here occasionally. I’m sure it happens everywhere. Just more men come here outing themselves in that position, leading with money
Hallo !
Very true. Many rush into things here. Many lonely naive men

In Santa Monica 1982-a 79 years old man killed himself in his new red Eldorado-in a parking lot- one shot in the head-the gun was still attached to his hand-never forget it-when the coroner came he told me this happens alot!
Sad
A sad story; sadly, not an uncommon one for Thailand.
These stories definitely keep appearing
Another classic example of the big head being sublimated to the small head.
Happens to many here
The two shots is something I’ve heard before from ER Doctors and incidents from work. I get the impression it’s especially common if they don’t get the angle right on the first pull on a DA/SA or DAO trigger. Sad circumstance all around.
Can happen.
Old Thai saying, I love you Johnny, no shit
😂
Sad to hear these things happen, o.m.b. bless U Brian. Have a great week buddy 🙏👊
Thanks. You too!
“This is my home now” was his last chance. Sad, sure, but no pity for the fate that came of this decision.
Daughter probably not happy about losing inheritance that way
Would not have a Thai massage for free, last one in 2008 nearly crippled me
You know what’s funny. I’ve been here over 4 years and never had a Thai massage. Just get the oil. I don’t need my bones snapped either
Puzzling how a grown American man is financially bullied around by a lady that easy. Buy a house together a Thai lady? For f sake! NO. . I know you need love and companionship but be aware. Go to the Philippines instead, better souls here.
A lot of bad things happen here in the Philippines and foreigners do get screwed over, but I agree. I generally trust Filipinas more.
I hear that. But any developing countries like this have their share of women looking for a big pay day.
Maybe Vietnamese are better.
Once the daughter and husband started feeling ill they should have had a full medical check done on the father, including blood tests and and toxicology checks.
You would think but many people get stomach issues. I think she figured all this out after
I'm sure I could tell if my wife was trying to poison me. Like if her cooking suddenly became half way edible I'd definitely become suspicious 😂
Thanks for the story. Seems a chapter in a book you are about to publish 🤔 As always no mention if real or fiction. 😂✌️❣️🇹🇭🎶 you can't lose it if you don't have it 👍
Based on story I was told. But wrote it like a real book story. I will save it. Maybe be start compiling these. Who knows maybe a book. I had to change some things so I don’t get sued
(but she died at 66!)
Sorry, but there's nothing UNUSUAL about him dying at [at least] 74 years old!
But remember, if they had been in America and she had been a American woman....... unless he had a will that said otherwise...... she would have inherited all his assets, and been eligible to receive his full Social Security payments! That's what spouses get, regardless of how long they've been together (unless a will says otherwise.)
Should we assume, therefore, that the American woman did him in? 😂
Think about it, eh? 😂
Cheers!
I think spouse would have had to reside for 5 years in US to get the social security.
I'm not completely convinced. It's normal to have family move into your home in Thailand. I suspect that his daughter, already being convinced something was wrong, was less than polite with Toy which may have made everyone uncomfortable.
Possibly but some people do have bad intentions

Great comment. Very true. I tell everyone that comes.
What if it’s the same sex

"Build a house", that is a hugh red flag.
That can happen anywhere in the world and it does. Hate that ppl act like only Thai women do this
100%. I just happen to be here in Thailand and here about these. I have told stories about Colombia and U.S. in the past as well. Mostly people send me Thailand stories
You didnt say 2 spent casings. Sounded like 2 in the chamber (which brings up other questions).
I think I said. Anyways 2 spent 3 unforced. I think revolver. Maybe one was spent prior. Very few details were given in that news story

Easily manipulated.
If she thought she was getting poisoned why not get a blood test?
Great questions. Do they do autopsies on old guys here?
Unlikely. sounds like a paranoid relative. upset they lost a 100k inheritance wjich is why they probably went to thailand anyway.
If they really thought poison they would have had a blood test done on themselves. At 70 he likely had dementia setting in.
Toy.. played a long game... she helped him and he passed happy.
Not unusual for the family to bw moving into and around the property.
2 shell casings? They killed him.
