The Department of General Services delivered this 1.3 Million small capital field project in April 2024 at the Deanwood Recreation Center in Ward 7, just in time for the start of warm weather.
The newly surfaced artificial turf field is nearly 100,000 square feet of fun for football and baseball, and now soccer goals to expand the space's capabilities.
This field is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and made from organic cork, and was designed to be 30% cooler than other turf fields that use non-organic materials.
