Very good and helpful video i having problems with the cilinder 2 and im gonna follow your video to found the problem. Thanks my friend you are a life saver
Hi! I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan that won’t start and has blinking engine light. There is strong fuel smell inside the vehicle which was thought to be a bad gas tank… now obv not so sure any ideas how to proceed are appreciated 😊
I have a 2006 dodge grand caravan that started running rough and had p0303 code. I swapped out # 3 and 4 spark plugs and wires and the code changed to p0300. Do you think the coil pack is bad?
Hello nice channel! I have a 2006 Chevy cobalt 2.2 I have oil sludge in my air cleaner/intake box that covers the throttle body and also p0301 code (cylinder 1 misfire) I already swapped the new spark plugs and boots i put in and still cylinder 1 misfire so I think it may be a bad coil pack but maybe it is the valve cover??? Car shakes when bad when idling or stop at light but NOT driving
The oil on that car happens, since its got an older pcv valve its causing a lot of blowby...Normally when the coil goes bad on that car itll cause 2 cylinders to misfire since 1 coil controls cylinder 1&4 while the other coil controls 2&3..i had a similar problem on one recently and it ended up being a bad ignition module..i do have a video on tests u can run on the coil and ignition coils, maybe u might find it helpful.
@@backyardchevy328 update: so i tested the coil pack with the multimeter and it’s reading at .8 for both which is good. I’m bout to test the ICM next. However, THE LITTLE CONNECTOR that goes between the ICM itself and the coil pack itself appears to be in good shape except that if I shake it a little it sounds like something is loose in there is this normal?
@@brolla12 i shook the one i have here and it does sound like something moves like a very faint click back and forth...if all that checks out fine..id probably test the compression and compare that to a cylinder next to it just to verify everything inside is working normal..then maybe test the injector by disconnecting the connector and check ohm reading to the one next to it..after that may be the actual injector may be clogged..or something associated with that cylinder
I wished it was just an injector on my 2007 Colorado. Since my Colorado is considered a newer model of the misfiring and overheating in idol. JBA Chevy has told me after diagnosing my problem that my truck was over heating in idol and misfiring in cylinder #3 was more of an internal issue. It was starting to affect the other cylinders after they put on their special computer. A Whole Gasket Assembly had to be replaced on my truck. A $5,400 repair job. 18 hours labor. I'm broke now. O o Supposedly if the truck was older. It would of been just a simple Gasket replacement, but it was affecting all cylinders and affecting the other injectors. It was becoming dangerous to drive.
Well firing order has to do with the sequence the engine uses to fire the cylinders..but p0302 means u got a misfire on cylinder 2..so depending on which engine u have..if u have a 4 cylinder itll be in order..so cylinder 1 starting from the front closest to the accessory belt..if u got a 6 cylinder like on the video..cylinder 2 would be on the bank facing the front towards radiator the first one from left to right closest to the belts
Well ur running lean on both banks..so thats causing ur misfires...i would check for vacuum leaks..check ur air filter..clean maf sensor maybe..if not maybe u got issues with old or dirty sensor 1 oxygen sensors...and yea unfortunately also seems u got an old catalytic converter
Hi. I'm having an issue with my car, I want to get a heads up before I take it in for a diagnostic. I'm a woman & don't know much about cars & trying not to get ripped off. Well, I have 2016 chrysler 300s V8 it has 37,000 miles on it. When I take the car out first thing in the morning for a drive & I'm going about 30-40 mph & for the first 2 stop lights/signs when I brake the car jerks forward and kind of vibrates (not the steering wheel) before coming to a complete stop. It only happens for about the first 2 times i push the brake after that it breaks fine for the rest of my drive/day. What does this issue sound like? Rotors, transmission, misfire, software update? & do you recommend taking it to the stealer since it still has powertrain warranty or independent shop? & thank you so much for your videos.
sounds like ur idle might be high(which is normal when vehicle is cold)which is why it only does it when cold but maybe the idle might be too high which is why it jerks forward..maybe they have a computer update to lower cold temp idle or maybe a problem with the throttle body(could be dirty or possible vacuum leak)..cause after it gets to operating temperature it drives fine and at operating temperature the idle gets lower which normally happens
@@backyardchevy328 I just drove it right now, warmed up & i'm feeling a slightly forward "jerk" like if I were to suddenly brake hard & your body moves forward, even if brake slowly. Not as much as when it's cold. Idk if I'm just paying too much attention to it or overthinking it. Hopefully it's something simple like computer update.
could be the computer tune...could be a vacuum leak...could be dirty throttle body...or faulty throttle body..but yea sure seems like idle is too high..its like if someone was to hold brake and press the gas in slightly the car will jerk forward because theres more engine torque being put against ur brakes.
I have a 2005 dodge caravan. The engine does turn over and I was told it is because there is no compression in cylinder #2. Can you tell me if there is a way to fix this or how expensive it would be to fix. Thank you
No compression in a cylinder could be a few things..i could be that a valve isnt opening and that could be something like a rocker arm that maybe got damaged and that would be the cheapest repair..but also more expensive things like a head gasket...a burnt valve/damaged valve..or a camshaft...or worst case damage to piston...so only way to really tell is to try different tests like leakdown test or to open it up
But I would like to know is why you call your channel Chevy backyard we need to work on more than Chevys? What would be great is if since I'm too old to do these things if I need you were close enough to help me out and fix my vehicle it has a rough idle changed the spark plugs so now it I was rough but it stopped it from running rough while driving
Are you still answering questions and comments?
Well done Sir(Liked). Also appreciate the information presented clearly spoken, and with no annoying amped-up background music.

Also agree with no annoying background music .... which is only a distraction 🙂

Thank you i really appreciate it🙂
Great video well done
So the best thing is replace all spark plugs first, especially if the car hasn't been tuned for a while. That's a cheap and easy step .
Thank you, yes indeed a very helpful video.
So glad to hear it🙂👍

Ouch, im sorry to hear that 😔..yea those are usually the symptoms youll start having with a bad head gasket.
is it the line order or firing order to fix p0302?

I forgot to mention. I also recently had the engine air filter replaced (i put in an OEM filter) Idk if that has anything to do with it.

Well, i replaced the harness, plug and cable, imma check compression later, hopefully that’s not it

I found #6 spark plugs was cracked, changed them and new cables and still have a misfire
Same issue with my caravan.
I guess for the sake of demo , you tested many things. However, in reality you would test spark-plugs first , or do the swapping trick .
