    🤍 Thank you Carla. I have lost weight twice before. 66 lbs the first time, and around 60 the second time. I experienced childhood SA and other traumas. I’m now divorcing a psychopath. The years of sustained stress took a toll. I now need to lose 120 lbs. Your experience and wisdom is so inspiring and extremely helpful. Thank you.

      Thank you for sharing! I have done the same. Lost 60 lbs 1st time and then 92 lbs before and sadly I put a lot of weight on my husband validating my progress. I’ve gained 50 lbs out of the 92 lbs. I realize my progress is mine only no matter who validates it. I am back at it and I’m not making that mistake again.

    🤍I have a daily food diary that I am accountable to. I do not measure or weigh or count calories, I simply write down what I eat each day. It’s something I need to do. I am trying very hard to love myself. Every day I look in the mirror and say positive things about myself, it’s not always easy but I do it. Thank you for so much for your videos ❤️

    I love these tips, especially the keeping your journey personal and private for a time. This is exactly what I’m doing. I’ve created a whole IG account that is completely private with no followers and I only follow fitness and nutrition accounts.
    Some additional tips I have are:
    1. take progress pictures, videos, measurements, etc.
    2. keep a calendar and plan out a goal date with your ideal goal weight, however keep it realistic (I gave myself 1 year to lose 50-60 lbs)
    3. Create a vision board

    🤍 just what I needed at the end of today - a notification that this video of yours is up! #8 is the tip I’m taking with me for the moment. Weight-loss has stalled and has me nitpicking my efforts, when it may just be a plateau, which is totally normal. Even if it lingers, I plan to keep showing up for myself and concentrate on doing my best to abide by the BodySlims pillars. You’re my #1, Carla - the positive influence & evidence that it can be done! Forever grateful for that!

    I have watched MANY people talking about weight loss. But I found your channel recently and although our journey differs a lot, everything you say and how you say it speaks directly to my soul... Your story is real, relatable, and not rose colored. It's not as easy as "change diet and exercise", there's always a lot more going on in this whole process than people let on. Our minds are our own worst enemies. Whenever I need that extra boost of motivation or inspiration, I'll be coming to your channel. When it comes to visualisation.. I did exactly that before even finding your channel, came across an old photo of myself and a little realisation occurred to me... We look at all these other fit people and wish we were like them and yet our bodies don't cooperate. But here... That is ME. ME AND MY BODY. I should be my own inspiration in this journey. This is the body I had which means it is achievable for my body type, my genetics, and whatever else plays a role. So now other people's work becomes only a guide. Not a goal. I am my goal... It's more motivating than the regular disappointment from not achieving someone else's results.

    🤍Kindness to yourself is so important. I am ⅓ to my goal and this has been the most I've looked at and felt my body in years because I no longer feel shame for how I currently am because I know I'm doing something about it now. And that feels so good.

    🤍 I’m with you on meeting yourself where your at for each day. Some days I power walk to beat my best time because I feel like it and may walk and extra mile or two on top of my normal 3. And then sometimes I choose to walk my 3 miles very slow because I am having a low day, but doing it anyways!

    i've just been starting again since awhile back. i saw a stretch mark on my stomach and i panicked and then i got really inspired to do it for real this time. i'm feeling more positive since my mom bought a book with healthy recipes with calorie counts and they all pretty much taste great! and food and binge eating has been my biggest problem. now since i know ill be able to eat a fullfilling tasty meal every time i dont crave snacks so much since we had issues with cooking properly before tbh. so snacking was my substitute ig. also comfort eating.
    i also got a positive influence in my life right about now. my uncle got diagnosed with diabetes and he immediately changed his life, stopped with sugar and carbs and he lost 30kgs and he doesn't have diabetes anymore either.

    You said my favorite thing right at the beginning. I had to get out of my own way!! That was me. That sometimes still IS me!! I’ve lost 95 lbs but I need to lose 20 more. It feels harder. My daughters are always on me for being obsessed about my weight. I know they love me madly but this constant pushback is challenging. If I’m not obsessed I won’t get the extra 20 off & I do live in fear of ever gaining the 95 back. I don’t think I could do this over again. I find your videos really helpful. It is important to block some people out of what you’re doing. 🤍🤍🤍

    It took me a year to lose 30 pounds and people notice last minute when I didn’t talk about it which threw me off. I’m a person that overly shares because I get frustrated when I don’t meet a certain goal at a specific time. And I seem to get really upset. But I think I’m keep it to myself and actually do it for health reasons not for looks. It’s kind of difficult because I try to find lie to myself to keep motivated.

    Seek positive influence, decide what type of person you are about sharing your journey or keeping it private, share your jourey with a small number of people you trust, be accountable to yourself, do not compare your progress to someone else's, focus on your why, write it down, visualize, meet yourself where you are with kindness.

    In the process of recommitting, so I’m watching all your videos again, lol. I would love to know what lipstick you were wearing here (if you can remember). I have similar colouring to you and it’s hard to find lipsticks that look as nice as that.

    Hi Carla, I'm just seeing this video now and I have a question. I really feel your point about sharing your journey with very few people and mainly keeping it to yourself. Did you go out to eat with people who didn't know and if so, how did you handle dealing with that? I know you have mentioned you check out the menu ahead of time but if it's impromptu? These are the issues I'm struggling to figure out if I don't mention it to people. I'd rather have a quiet journey but I'm not sure how to approach these situations without people finding out. Thanks
