    TH-cam definitely motivates me. And you’ve motivated me today! ❤ I am currently 5 pounds down, 215, and I was scared to think I could ever be 145 again. But knowing we’re the same height and you had a bigger starting weight and did it anyway, I really believe I can “dare to dream”! ❤❤❤❤

    TW ED: This video helped me stay on my journey on May 25th when I really wanted to quit, like I always have before. I am now 5 weeks into my journey, I am down 7 lbs and I can see and feel a difference. Today my depression was the loudest it's been in a while and I had a small binge. I was both amazed at how quickly I was able to snap out of it and a little disappointed I had relapsed. That loud person in me wanted to quit so I ran here to remind myself that I am not going to quit this time. I am going to keep chanting to my brain "What if this time I don't quit?" I want to get to my second goal of 10 lbs down. I am going to work on scheduling therapy and setting up a better plan. I am also going to challenge myself to journal about my whys. I AM going to come back here when I hit the under-200 mark.

      Hey. It’s okay to get back on track if it didn’t work out. But I hope it did!
      I’m 4’11 and started at 306. Now at 277. I have BED but I got this. I’ve been eating whole wheat and cutting sugars and it’s been helping.

      @mgmorgan11 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      did you hit the under 200? If you didn't, that's ok, I struggled like crazy for over 3 years. Then I created a vision that lifted my depression and motivated the hell out of me and, most importantly, got me the results I wanted. I know you can do it to. Best wishes for you

    I've been losing weight over the last couple of years, and it can be very slow going, at times, due to typical fluctuations and whatnot, as you discuss in the "keeping perspective" tip. I track my weight on a spreadsheet, because I am a big nerd and I love statistics. One way I found to keep perspective is to look at the bigger picture: instead of looking at the day-to-day weight, which can fluctuate a lot, I can pull out and look at the weekly averages, or the monthly averages.
    It's so much easier to see my weight going down, down, down, when I back up and look at the bigger picture. It can also help me spot trends, like monthly or seasonal patterns.

    🖤🤍I know, I comment a lot. I just had an epiphany ❣️ instead of rewards for weight loss. I'm going to start rewarding consistently, like if I exercise 6x a week all month, then I get to buy new shoes or something. So I'm tying my rewards to my efforts instead of the scale. Because the efforts to stay healthy are consistently needed no matter your weight. Anybody can tell you the machinations of how to lose weight, but you and I both know it only works when you are working on being both mentally and physically healthy. Love you. As an older mother who was raised to be a 50s housewife, that showing up for myself is a new concept , it's exciting after putting yourself last for 7 decades 😳😊

Ive been doing little things for a couple of days now and finally i see results i had never gotten by tiring myself out. I dont need much motivation to do it, i can do it with a busy scedule and it doesnt feel overwhelming.

    🖤🤍 Spot on Carla. Thank you. I've been struggling to loose 50lbs since the birth of my last baby..... my "baby" will be 20 years old next week.
    I've been up and down in weight--never hit my goal. When I start to loose and feel a little better about myself I reward myself * ( ...yes with food ....eye roll). I remember you speaking of this in another of your videos, and I thought, holy moly thats what I do. Been walking 45 minutes daily. Getting up at 5am and just doing it. Setting up a routine if self care, measuring and countinh calories, drinking water, the lot. Tomorrow is my first weigh in... as in.. I haven't weighed myself in a long time. I know the number will be one that i don't want to see and honestly I am scared to face it. I must hold myself accountable. This video has really helped reframe my mindset. Thank you Carla. I will be up tomorrow at 5am, I will walk, hydrate, shower, get ready for work and face whatever number is on the scale. As you said,.. " What if I don't quit?"

    I'm on my journey, and sometimes i don't feel motivated, but consistency and just making sure I move. It is working, I find the scales triggering, so I only weigh myself every 2 weeks. I have lost about 11 kilos, slow and steady, not cutting out everything as that is also triggering. About a kilo a week. And I do find your videos so inspiring🖤🤍 I wish my journey was slightly different but over three years I put on 58 kilos. So it was difficult to get started, but now small steps, Feeling healthier which for me is my priority, having had body dysmorphia whilst being slim, my goal is healthy and strong❤

  • @SamarkandChan
    @SamarkandChan ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think measuring other things than just scale weight is important. Progress photos and measurements are much more accurate for fat loss. I do strength training and I gain mucle which shows up on the scale even though my measurements are down. I think it's important to always mention because people seem to miss this point and go to extremes, when they're actually on track

    My mantra is similar... "just don't quit"...

  • @sleeperawaken36
    @sleeperawaken36 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A few things that can get in the way of what the scale says, is a lot of water retention that the body sometimes does when rebuild/repairing muscles that are being exercised whether just toning or building. The water / fluid retention will eventually go down again, but can get in the way of the scale showing results... may even show up as weight going up... which can be depressing.. but the reality is you are getting progress, it's just invisible for a while. Similar issue with building muscle, even if just toning... muscle is heavier than fat, so it can cause the scale not to reflect how much fat you are actually loosing... but muscle is also more dense, so you could be getting smaller in areas, even though the scale might not reflect it. Short of it is... sometimes you have to ignore the numbers for a few weeks, and just keep progressing forward... understanding that regardless of what the scale says... exercise and diet are basically a math problem, and results have to show up in time. That said... always keep in mind how much sleep and recovery time you are getting. If you are low on either, getting more sleep and recovery time if needed can suddenly shift the scale.

    My goal is to feel confident, light and healthy. I want to feel fit and beautiful 💃
    I listen repeatedly to Tony Robbins "unleash your power within" to get rid of my limiting beliefs and feel powerful.
    The counting calories-app I've got, Fatsecret, is also motivating me, because I feel obligated to not eat more than my daily calories. I find it kind of fun plotting in all my food and se what I can get out of it.
    Tomorrow it's been one week in calories deficit, and I already notice some improvement, which is more motivating than anything else!

    Is a tile supposed to pop up when you say I'll put a video up here? I can't find it 😫

      It should but I think it doesn’t on all devices, I always put them in the description box as well just in case xx

    It's my 46th birthday today. What if this was the year I accomplished my goals? What if I lost 30 pounds this year? I would like to lose more than that, but 30 this year would be a great first goal. 🖤 🤍

    I watched the BodySlim guy online today. I thought if he inspired you, he must be amazing. I was wildly disappointed. This was from 3yrs ago I think. He was so incredibly mean to various audience members & even to the entire audience at times, that it left me strongly disliking him. The epitome of an overbearing unlikeable salesman. I appreciated the walnut brain vs the genie vs the conscious reasoning brain & I believe that was actually really helpful. Outside of that, I could only see anger & aggression. You are FAR more inspiring & relatable. I mean…FAR MORE!! “What if THIS TIME I don’t quit?” Love it! I’m shocked that this guy inspires anyone. 🖤🤍

      I too saw hostility and dismissiveness in that video you watched and I really wish that was not part of it. BUT I have done his course and in that I saw him pour his heart and soul into trying to help move people to positive change. I felt like I was on a team heading to victory and urged to confront difficult things with him rooting for us all every step of the way. It was inspiring and many have found it so. Also Carla is amazing and so well-spoken. I got to the BodySlims program through her and appreciate her contributions to it.
