I couldn't agree more, though there are always exceptions to a rule. I believe someone should take exceeding care even in dire situations, always think things through with what little time you have, try and think on alternate possibilities, or backup plans should one be forced to work with someone untrustworthy. A number of ds9 episodes taught me that, among other sources, including Batman.
I'm sorry for your bullying, I've gone through a bit myself, not at that young age, but young enough to know what you mean. Real life does not always allow for an ease of assessment or quick reaction to avoid danger, especially for children. That's one reason why, as much as I hate instilling paranoia in a kid, I do believe in having some simple rules of thumb for kids to follow to have the best chance to avoid dangerous people, like always going for an adult if asked to help someone, not trying to help the other person, EVER. As for bullying, that's tricky depending on the situation, and actually I wonder what your specific situation was, given the topic of giving trust, if you don't mind my asking. If you do mind, I won't pry, I don't want to open wounds.
The writer of that scene also had a very strange idea of what a peace treaty was. the cardassians have no honour, the borg have no honour, romulans have no honour, other klingons have no honour.. .... and worf had his honour stripped from him.. go figure.

0:23 Can we just take a moment to admire how brutally strong locutus of borg must be considering it took a combined effort from both Worf and Data to restrain him?

"Trust is EARNED, not given away." Wish more people had the common sense required to see this as a good thing. Blind trust is no different from stupidity.
I like Worf. He does things against his superior officer's wishes ( sometimes) when the occasion arises. Klingons can be glorious badasses, and that's a POSITIVE trait!!!

Good thing worf was raised by humans. He got the best set of teeth compared to other klingons. Must be all the visits to the dentist, when he was growing up....
It seems to be a recurring meme in shows I watch, this. Animal House, TNG, Scrubs (when Dr. Cox smashes Colin Hay's guitar) and Red Dwarf, where Lister's guitar is casually smashed. I'm sure there's plenty more where that came from, too.
I've always loved Worf and the Klingons. It would be so great if Paramount did a Star Trek show that is only about the Klingons, that maybe takes place somewhere in their past. They reference so many things in Klingon history over the different shows that would be so great to see and maybe have one of the main characters be an ancestor of Worf and center around the House of Mog. If done right I would love that so much.
"At least allow me to post guards in some sensitive areas of the ship." "Very well. Numbah One would you make sure the schoolteacher tells the children that the warp core monkeybars are off-limits for the time being."
The part where Worf yells he's not a merry man, then smashes the little guitar kills me everytime.
"Sorry."
No mandolin for you!
Worf only uses Dr. Squatch soap!!
an homage to John Belushi and Animal House
It's a lute. And yes it deserves to be smashed.
"I'M NOT A MERRY MAN!!!" This is perhaps the most funniest line in all of this series.
And his smashing of the guitar/lute made him a hero
Meanwhile in DS9 Major Kira be like *"Well I was playing a married woman!!!"*
Q: What must I do to prove that I am mortal?
Worf: Die.
Riker: *trying not to laugh*
They left out Q's hilarious retort though:
"Very good Worf. Eat any good books today?"
@@tinman3586 The funny thing is, that WOULD actually be the best possible way to prove his mortality XD, so it's a very good answer, and, Q's retort seems kind-of weak and insecure, which seems like a good way to make Q seem weak and vulnerable to the audience, in-turn, making it easier for the audience to begin to empathize with Q.

Animal House, John Belushi. Sorry,

They have to beam aboard as there isn't the room for 3 cardassian arses in a single shuttle craft.
