My question is I have my flight exactly after 30 days from today and I am afraid to not get my OCI ON TIME after seeing all op your feedbacks -

Can I apply for visit visa under my min passport which is not Indian passport ?

MY husband's oci card application was rejected as ineligible (He retired from US army in 2000) and vfs sent a notification saying that his application is being sent back, unprocessed. They notified us on April 13th. How long does it to receive the returned application if we used vfs courier service?

The application got delivered to VFS on 8th March but the status still shows "No record" after 3-4 days. Is this common?

I was requested additional documents and consent letter then my application when to mission for decision making. So does it mean its approved? On oci gov website i checked the status its says under process.
Mostly it’s Approved... some times if embassy finds some missing documents they might reject
Hi Suja - Thank you for this video. It is extremely helpful. One question - I got a text saying that my application has been received and that the average processing time at Mission is 4-6 weeks. Do you know what they mean by "Mission"? I am confused whether the whole process will take 4-6 weeks or just the "Mission" part will take 4-6 weeks.
Whole process takes 4-6 weeks .. mission is your consulate

Please raise service request to vfs and they will ask you to send the new label for the current address

My grand daughter oci application received by embassy on 17 th March 2022 and status is still under process. I am worried how many days they need to complete the process. Out of anxiety I am sending this message .Sorry if I bothered you
hi, thanks for the video, the vasf portal says "Your application has reached at the Embassy/Consulate and is currently under review process
" and the Indian OCI portal says "OCI Application Status UNDER-PROCESS" for 4 weeks now. Not sure where in the flowchat this falls !
Some times the application get delayed .. you can reach out to vfs , to make sure your application is not under hold

@@pragyagupta6915 yes we revived her OCI, it took 5 weeks with the same status. The overall process took 7 weeks or some. Hope you get the OCI soon !
Suja I re issue the pass port updates the OCI details I received the message knowledge in the consideration. When I get the message for fully updates.

Hi Thank you. I heard that for OCI renewal for minors, do we still need to send to send the expired OCI . I heard some where it may not be required now. Could you please let me know.
Gov is planning to introduce new process for oci renewal.. it is yet to be introduced so please wait until that ..

Hello Suja thanks for the video , i applied for my son's USA passport renewal in California and got the same,will the passport agency be sending the old USA passport (we have not received it yet,it has been more than 1.5 months)
It depends I guess .. we applied for my daughters renewal in Virginia and got her old passport back .. but in some states they don’t send old passport

Due to current covid Situation in India it’s taking some time .. you can raise request with vfs they might able to give you the exact details

Hi Suja, I am in the process of applying OCI for my minor kids , they have a valid PIO and we have tracel plans last week of november 2021. Is it better to apply for OCI as we are concerned what if we do not get it in time. Or should we use PIO to travel? Would appreciate a response on this... Thank you.
Oci takes 4-6 weeks , given the timeline you can apply immediately so that you can receive it on time

I have a question though - I have applied for OCI for my newborn daughter but afraid I might have to exit US before OCI processing is completed. Now she we'll be traveling on emergency entry visa. But can I get her OCI couriered to India once it gets delivered in US. Will there be any implications if she enters India on emergency visa but later possess her OCI card in India, so that her visa extension is not required?

Hi Gaurav what was your findings ? I am in same boat , my OCI is pending but I am planning to travel India on 30 days evisa on 27 nov, I’ll ask my cousin to courrier oci card to me in India and I’ll will return to us in February
@@harvindersyan4743 you should be fine to get it courier to India. I checked at the immigration in India and they should you only need oci card while going back to US, hence we can get it courier to India.

On OCI application Line Given Name which name should write. As per current US passport name or As per Indian passport name if Name is changed

Suja Gaaru namaste. I am Vijaya. Applied oci . Sent to vfs on august 24th. Processed at vfs on aug 26th. Received by embassy on aug 27th and showing as under process. There is no further change of status till September 24th. When can I expect my oci card. Thanks

No .. you have to update your new passport info once after 50 yrs when you renew your passport

Thanks Suja for your helpful videos. I recently applied for my newborn son OCI card referring to your video. I have one query, the different status like e.g. Document Printing, Dispatched from MEA. etc. you slowed in the flow diagram for OCI Govt Portal, will the same gets updated in status ? Like for my sons OCI case, since 17th Aug 2021, in the OCI Govt. Portal, the status is showing as "Under Process"

You have use file reference to pull the application
long time trying for that using the file reference no. Its not working. I Try for again new application. That also not working. @@SujaPrakash
Go to re upload documents tab in main menu .. and use file reference number to upload documents and do final submit.. let me know if this worked

If you hadn’t received oci yet then you have to get a visa
I have booked my flight to India, leaving USA on Jan 13, 2022. If I apply for OCI in the next 2 days, what are my chances of receiving the OCI card before my departure to India?. If I do not receive OCI Card in time, are there other options for me as a US Citizen to travel to India with a departure date of Jan 13, 2022 while my OCI is still pending. I plan to stay in India for 2-1/2 months with travel to neighboring countries while in India- meaning I will need multiple entry.

its recommended to book the tickets after getting visa or oci .. but since your done with that , i highly suggest you to apply fast . nov/ dec are holiday months so it cant be guaranteed, still there are lots of hope. also if you have emergency , you can go for emergency entry visa (1-2 weeks processing time )
@@SujaPrakash can I apply for an emergency entry visa from Uk as I have also purchased my flight ticket for December 11 and waiting for my oci..to get an appointment for tourist visa at vfs is more than 5 weeks ..so don’t know what I am supposed to do now?
You can try e visa or emergency entry visa

You should able to download your label in the vfs portal, envelope you will get in fedex office when you show the label

You can contact Indian embassy , they should provide a proof or affidavit regarding this
