Phillies may have won 2 games, but that was more Astros choking then Phillies winning and there was never a doubt the Astros were not only winning, but dominating that whole series. Although not an Astros fan, I was in awe of what they were building from 2015 and onward. Anyone with a bit of baseball sense could see they were headed for good things by building the team from the ground up with talent, in-depth knowledge and science. Having said that, the illegal signstealing scandal shows that the players themselves were apparently not convinced they would be good enough. So, if anything, do not blame the people that called them out, blame the ones that needlessly participated in it.
And surely, other teams may have been cheating as well, but that is no justification. Furthermore, the 2022 title should not be seen as a vindication for 2017, but as a lesson of how trust is not easily earned yet so easily lost.
Last but not least, I do consider the Astros the best team in baseball right now and congratulate the club and it's fanbase with the well deserved 2022 World Series win !!!

why does no one ever talk about the Red Sox cheating the same way in 2018?

    • @fbch32
      @fbch32 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Easy, they wanted Astros to be the scapegoats. Why else do you think MLB and Yankees fought hard to not release the letter MLB sent to the Yankes where they found that the Yankees were cheating 15-16? Ironically, one of the players during those years was the one that took the Yankees system and modified it for the Astros. I remember reading that when Beltran got to the Astros, he told them that they were outdated and that's when he created the sign stealing scheme.
Then there's the fact that I keep seeing Red Sox fans talking shit about the Astros. One dude that has a podcast what saying stuff about the Astros cheating and I pointed pointed put that the Red Sox were also caught and he started arguing with me. He even had the audacity to say that the Red Sox didn't use electronics. I responded by quoting Manfred saying that the Red Sox used electronics and he never responded. So yea, I think MLB was successful in making the Astros the scapegoats.

Yes, I am a life long Astros fan, no I don't condone cheating. But the Astros get way too much grief over being caught. Barry Bonds is probably one of the greatest players ever, but he is still waiting on an invite to the hall. A few others are in the same boat. I am just saying, yes, cheating is bad. And No, it will never stop. Every so often MLB has to "Make an example" But in all fairness, they want the cash rolling in, so they often over look a lot of stuff. TLDR: MLB has to nail someone every so often so they look like they care. Also, if you really believe the Astros were the only ones cheating... I have a bridge for sale.

Bottom line is everyone still complaining about cheating is living in the past. You can count two position players left (Gurriel and Bregman) that are known to of cheated, we know Altuve wanted nothing to do with it. If you don't think that, look into it more...
Different coach. Different GM. Almost entirely different players. Winning by dominant pitching. What do you want them to do? Ask for more punishment from the MLB? Be mad at the MLB, not the Astros in 2022. It's ridiculous. The Yankees and Red Sox are known to have cheated as well... But we don't have to get into that.
Not saying that makes it right. In fact, took me a while to even watch the Astros again.
Here's the bottom line for the fans. Houston has been TORTURED by sports for it's entire existence. Fourth largest city in the country, and never respected. From the "Well Michael Jordan wasn't playing" Rockets championships, the 2017 Astros scandal, the Oilers choking in the 90s, James Harden royally choking every year in the playoffs, the Texans mid 10's run being derailed by injuries to star players and no QB, The recent Texans run being blown up to pieces by Bill O Brien and Deshaun Watson... Guys it's been a MESS.
And we have to sit and listen to the likes of YANKEES and PATRIOTS fans invalidate THIS TITLE. Nope. Not this one.

Great Vid. We are in the Golden Age for STROS Baseball and it’s Unbelievable at most times. The number of team and league records we broke this year is insane. To name a few-
-2 immaculate innings in the same game against the same three batters with two different pitchers
-Led the A.L. in every Major Pitching Category (ERA, Wins, Strikeouts, Quality Starts, Saves)
-No Hit Yankees and Phillies in there Stadiums with Combined Pitching staff both which were Started by Javier and ended by Pressley. Yanks had not been NO HIT since early 2000’s by another Combined Astros Staff. And Was the second team ever to NO HIT the opposing team in a World Series And first to do it with a combined pitching staff
-First Rookie SS To win a Gold Glove and Tied for 1st for a Rookie to Win MVP in the ALCS and WS & is 34 Million a Year cheaper then Correa
-Will have a Cy Young award winner in Justin Verlander following a Year and a Half break for Tommy John Surgery & Recovery
-Framber Valdez recorded 25 straight Quality Starts in the same season
-Our 2 Catchers Maldonado & Vasquez Caught the Most Baserunners trying to Steal and led in Defensive WAR
-Tucker is the Second Astro ever to Hit 30+ HR’s, 100+RBI’s and steal 25+ bases. (Bagwell was the 1st)

It’s just time to move on really. Majority of people are hypocrites. When they lost game 1 and 3, it was a laughing stock saying “they can’t win without cheating” proposing they’re not cheating but they win the series and they’re still cheating ? Kinda weird. They say they only respect dusty for the win cuz everybody is a cheater but, it’s only gurriel, altuve and Bregman still on that team. Count the 2 pitchers if you wanted to I guess so 5 players. Everybody else is new, 2019-present. What I don’t like is this whole like “it makes baseball look bad.” But those people make it look just as bad, constantly bringing it up overtime. I understand it’s still kinda fresh but it’s been 5 years. At some point you just need to move on. You don’t gotta forgive, but, they won a World Series. Your point was proven now, by saying they can’t win without cheating. Well they won a World Series. Idk it’s just a lot of hypocrisy lingering around. Not only that, I’m sure majority of the players are moving on now, because it just doesn’t matter anymore. It’s in the past now and what’s done is done. At the end of the day, a lot of people hate that nothing more was done to them but there’s always secrets kept. Maybe the MLB was protecting something that would’ve made it actually look much more horrible so they did as much as they could without something else going down. No team is innocent. Some teams did it worse than others. But If you want baseball to have this “great” outlook on it, then start by swallowing that pill and admit the Astros are that team. This is a whole different team now.

A dynasty is general three championships, and the Astros just one their first legitimate one. To say they didn’t need to cheat in a year when both the ALCS and WS went for seven games, half of their WS wins were in extra innings, and they scored the exact same number of runs as the Dodgers after LA had gone 7-1 leading up to the Fall Classic is just foolish. The only question should be whether or not Houston would’ve lost to the Yankees or Dodgers. The Astros and Dodgers have been dominant but neither are dynasties. This 2022 title seems a lot like the Lakers’ 2020 championship in that they had other teams do the dirty work for them. Obviously they beat every team and nothing can take that away from them, but it was the Padres who took out the Mets and Dodgers and they never got the chance to prove themselves against an elite, 100-win team.

Worst modern dynasty in sports. Even in baseball, the early 2010s Giants far surpass the Astros. Yeah the astros win a lot and Dusty in likeable, but as long as anyone from the core of 2017 remains, they will never be legitimate, they don't ever deserve credit. They did this to themselves. Even with the benefit of the doubt, the astros are 1-3 in world series they didn't cheat in.

The Astros had a player in 2017 (Carlos Beltran) that had just left the Yankees and Rangers the year before and said that our sign stealing wasn’t up to par with the rest of the league and that they needed to try harder to steal signs. Sign stealing was a problem in the hole league. Just like the steroid era, Barry Bonds wasn’t the only one doing steroids the pitchers were too (Roger Clemons). 2017 is legit because everyone was cheating.
