I recommend adding a good splashing vinegar at the start for any beans and lentils. They say not to, but it's beneficial in pressure cooking as the beans will all stay perfectly intact.

One advantage to using the Bean/Chili button is that the preset time is already at or near the time you need. But that only saves a few seconds of pressing the plus sign. I do use mine, just because I cook a lot of beans.

Thank you for taking the time to make your videos! I am going to start using dry beans, chickpeas, etc because I am trying to cut out my sodium from my canned goods. There are some no salt added cans, but I am having difficulty finding them. I ordered your cookbook and so excited to receive it when it is released.

Excellent... excellent instructions !! Most videos out there do NOT even show what buttons to set your cooking to. They don't say Pressure Cook and whether it should be on Low or Hi. Please try to make a lot more cooking vids.

I used to cook beans in my slow cooker, in the last couple of hours I threw in bacon. Do you know how I could incorporate the bacon with the beans in the IP? TIA

I was thinking of making Red beans and Rice and watched your video of that but I saw you did a video for just the beans and I have the 6 qt Instant pot Ultra and saw you had a newer one, but with similar options except no know! I now need to get a better idea on how to make nice fluffy rice. I have seen people add baking soda to cooking red beans and you didn't, any reason you didn't? Some say it makes them less gassy! Boop boop be doop! LOL
