When I watched the show the first time I binged watched it, I researched all of the cast members. It is sad that they are all gone except Beaver, Gilbert, and Larry. I recently lost my husband to cancer. He was only 70. It was a long hard battle and we were together for 51 years. Hence, I’m behind on my video watching. I’m slowly getting back to them. And I’m enjoying them. All I basically watch these days is classic tv. Nothing compares. Thanks for another great video.😊
One of my favorite episodes was "Teacher Comes to Dinner." In it Miss Landers comes to Beaver's house, and in one scene when they are at the table, Beaver raises his hand to ask her a question. 😂
I used to watch this show non-stop when I was a kid. Early 1980's reruns when I was a kid. It's been so long since I have seen it last. Definitely think it's time for a rematch.
Loved Leave It To Beaver and also loved the New Leave It To Beaver shows! These were shows that I grew up watching through re-runs when I was a kid. Sad to hear that some of the cast members are no longer with us, but they will forever live on with the show!
Dave, I love your vids. I'm about your age. I love "Leave it to Beaver", even though most of it was filmed before I was born. I was surprised that you didn't mention that Stanley's real life brother Tiger, also appeared on the show, as Wally's friend Tooey. 🙂
Sure did love Miss Landers. Had some great teachers i guess. But would have loved having a teacher like her. And Stanley ..couldn't believe how short he was... when all the guys were getting taller, he just stayed short. But he held his own. He was really good on the the show
Ironically, though mentioned less, Wally's two other friends from the early seasons Buddy Hart as Chester Anderson and Tiger Fafara as Tooey Brown are both still alive in 2024!
Great video, Dave! I used to watch "Leave it To Beaver" as a kid, but I don't think I've seen it in 30 years or more. You covered a lot of material that I hadn't heard before! Regarding Richard Matheson, as I'm sure you know, he's one of Stephen King's favorite writers, and his story "I Am Legend" is one of King's favorites.
I'm glad you enjoyed the compilation video, Scott. I still try to catch an episode once a week or so. It helps "cleanse the palette" from all the other crazy stuff that I watch. Thanks for all your support!
I never heard them mention a year on the show, BUT this morning I found out Beaver graduated 8th grade in 1963. Mom gave him a watch as a gift with the date 1963. Did you know?
Dave! I'm so glad you reviewed Pleasantville. Oh, wait....never mind. Still amazing stuff. But....I think this show was more nuanced than that. The parents weren't perfect, and the show was done from the perspective of the kids. The Pleasantville comparison is better applied to Father Knows Best. I mourn Sue Randall to this day. She was a beautiful ace. I could not stand "Old Lady Crump." I thought she was terrific initially. But the show turned her into a one-note jealous harpy, and they kept writing to that narrow meme. See her in the episode when they get "rescued" from the cave by Barney, or even the episode with the Mayberry Minutemen, to see her in a great light. Such good promise, and such a waste of a beautiful actress and interesting character. How about that Frank Bank, huh? Like Ken Osmond, Frank made his mark in the world beyond what he accomplished as a child (teen) actor. I'm sorry for Stanley. But he lived the life he chose. But Whitey rules! Didja see Edie McClurg in the Corn Flakes commercial! You should do a piece on her (if you haven't already!).
Did you ever know why Leave it to Beaver was cancelled by CBS after only the first season?that wasn't fair to the actors or the studio even though ABC managed to save it
Ratings weren't great. Quitely frankly, they never were. LITB became way more popular after the show ended and reruns of the show started playing in the afternoons.

I'm sorry to hear about your recent loss, Thea. 😥
@@jdsundstrom Thank you Dave. It’s pretty rough. I appreciate your kind words.❤️

That was probably her funniest appearance. Beaver also noticed that Miss Lander's toes were showing!😂
Great episode!
Sue Randall was such a pure beauty. So sad she passed so young.
Because of Newport cigarettes. The commercials are on TH-cam.
i saw that here some time ago

What a great channel this is. You know the good stuff!
Glad you think so!

Thanks Bernie! I'm saving Tiger for another day.

I still watch the show. Almost everyday. Tom
I watch it often as well.
It's my go to show. Beaver never disappoints.
Sue Randall smoke like three packs a day. That was her only vice, and it killed her. Beautiful woman
I grew to love Lumpy, Frank Bank. I thought he was funny more than anything. Became a fave of mine
Leave it to beaver one of my favorite shows Dave loved all the videos you have done on this show from the past till now
Cade. You should check out his live shows. Tom
Ok awesome man Thanks a ton for this much appreciated
Great classic TV show
Hilariously ironic that in episode "Lumpy's Scholarship", financial whiz Frank Bank's character Lumpy lost a scholarship because he made a D in math 😂
I saw Paul Revere and the Raiders in 2019 on the Happy Together tour
Frank was kinda cute as Lumpy. Wish “Miss Landers” could have been my teacher. Whitey was a cutie too, its too bad his life went the way it did
Do a deep dive into the life of Tiger Fafara, and why you never saw him and his brother together.
Tooey was only in the first 3 seasons. Whitey was in all 6 seasons.
Ironically, though mentioned less, Wally's two other friends from the early seasons Buddy Hart as Chester Anderson and Tiger Fafara as Tooey Brown are both still alive in 2024!

I watch Leave It to Beaver every day. Or record, and watch the next day
I loved this video Dave and I really enjoyed it.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Syreeta!
14:25 On "SCTV", the added a new dimension to Lumpy by having him murder someone. I don't think that would have worked on the original show.
Loved those SCTV skits!
You Should Have Mentioned BEAVER'S 1st Teacher Ms. CANFIELD......What a DROP DEAD GORGEOUS Woman She Was ( DIANE BREWSTER). ❤
I totally agree!
Good stuff - Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it

Thanks for sharing, Rich! And yes, Edie McClurg would be a fun subject for a future video. I'll add her to my potential topics list.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
👍👍👍📺
Narrator sounds a little like Eddie Haskell...."No problem, Sam." 😂
Ha! It’s an honor to sound even a little bit like the late great Ken Osmond. 🙂
@@jdsundstrom Have a friend who saw Ken at some parade in SoCal. Said he was so thin his watch was about to fall off his wrist/hand. 🤭
He was quite the skinny feller!
Honestly I thought lumpy was gay which was okay by me because I'm gay too and it h lelped me to come to terms with my sexuality love him❤
Never thought about that but if it helped u come to terms and come out great for u. Got that vibe with “Aunt Martha” tho
Richard Deacon who played Fred Rutherford was gay i could tell when he played Mel on Dick Van Dyke
@@larryshaver3568 thank you
12:12 - Edie McClurg appeared here before the height of her career.
🙂

And none of these moneybags could have helped Whitey with a headstone ?!?
Apparently not.
