  • Myles of ‪@answeringadventism‬ during his "burial" of ADL makes a remark in passing that the scapegoat was considered a sin offering and that this proves that not all sin offerings were killed. He did this in response to our argument that his soul according to Isaiah 53:10 was a sin offering. Let us read the context of Leviticus 16 to see if Myles is correct.

      I think Myles may have some past hurt he is carrying fueling his motivation in what he does. If that's so, it's sad to see it result in his retaliation with SDAs. His attitudes and self satisfaction when he thinks he is shedding truth makes it look like the root is coming from a personal unresolved issues. Anyhow I hope he finds forgiveness and healing through Christ.
      If it is a matter of disagreement then why his attitude which comes across as arrogant, rude and mocking.Can you not disagree and still extend Christ love, kindness, humility. Instead he seems to constantly try to prove his points and then when he asks questions he puts a person in a corner, pressing on them until they answer in a way that supports his proclaimed truth. Why not give the same courtesy you would want to receive regardless of your personal feelings.
      Anyways, again may we be moved to pray for one another and respond in love, rather then prove who is right.

      @NoSundayLawComing per adventist? There's a difference between spiritual atonement and physical atonement... hello second coming of Christ. Also the Messianic Jewish denomination understands that fulfillment of Messiah Ben David comes later, and the Orthodox Christians also recognize that the scapegoat is a work of Christ meaning he sends it out, the second coming will affirm the atonement, and lastly the meaning of atonement means "at one with" God, we are not "at one with" God literally yet, that's why Jesus has to return. Sorry my friend, the scapegoat thing is not originally a Seventh-Day Adventist belief; they simply get blamed for it, an actual physical atonement does come later at the second coming of Christ. Heb 9:28

      @@FishermensCorner No matter how you slice it, the SDAs view on the atonement is one of incompleteness.
      Hebrew 9:28 _"So Christ, having been offered once _*_to bear the sins_*_ of many, will appear a second time, _*_not to deal with sin_*_ but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him"_ .
      In this passage we have Christ bearing our sins already. When He comes the second time He does not deal with sin anymore, because He has already dealt with that. The atonement is completed already.

    • @FishermensCorner
      @FishermensCorner หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @NoSundayLawComing yeah let's just skip over the meeting of atonement, let's just skip over that right? It literally says he comes back to "save" us, that salvation, that is complete atonement. Like you directly quoted it... let's also ignore that it has nothing to do at seventh day adventist; they just get blamed for it. Being at 1 with God doesn't happen until he comes back to save us. That's completed atonement, we are spiritually at home today, we are physically atoned by His Promise tomorrow.

    • @NoSundayLawComing
      @NoSundayLawComing หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FishermensCorner Here is EGW's view of the scapegoat, found in chapter 18 of the Great Controversy:
      _"It was seen, also, that while the sin-offering pointed to Christ as a sacrifice, and the high priest represented Christ as a mediator, _*_the scape-goat typified Satan_*_ , the author of sin, upon whom the sins of the truly penitent will finally be placed. When the high priest, by virtue of the blood of the sin-offering, removed the sins from the sanctuary, he placed them upon the scape-goat. _*_When Christ, by virtue of his own blood, removes the sins of his people from the heavenly sanctuary at the close of his ministration, he will place them upon Satan_*_ , who, in the execution of the judgment, must bear the final penalty"_ [E. G. White, The Great Controversy between Christ and Satan from the Destruction of Jerusalem to the End of the Controversy, The Spirit of Prophecy, vol. 4 (Oakland, CA: Pacific Press, 1884), 266-67.]
      And to be sure, *let's NOT skip over the meaning of the atonement* .
      Here are five definitions of the atonement I just looked up:
      1) Amends or reparation made for an injury or wrong; expiation.
      2) An individual's reconciliation with God by means of repentance and confession of one's transgressions.
      3) The reconciliation of God and humans brought about by the redemptive life and death of Jesus
      4) Reparation for an offense or injury : SATISFACTION
      5) The reconciliation of God and humankind through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.
      So given that Satan will actually bear our sin (the "final penalty" per EGW), we can conclude that Jesus has *not yet RECONCILED us to God* . Further Jesus has *not made the full REPARATION for our sin yet* , neither has *He made the SATIFACTION for our sins yet* . All of this counter to the Word of God.
      1 John 2:2 *_"And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world"_* .
      1 John 4:10 _"Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and *sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins"_ .
      2 Cor 5:18 _"And all things are of God, who _*_hath reconciled us to himself_*_ by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation"*_ ;
      Also, you claim *"There's a difference between spiritual atonement and physical atonement"*
      Do you mind explaining this difference?

    Thanks again, ADL. What a stubborn interpretation this is - that both goats served as the single sin offering. Adventist need not ever concede to such a bogus claim. To hold to that understanding, one must: 1) Concentrate on Lev 16:5 in isolation, 2) Divorce verse 5 from the overall context of casting lots to determine which goat would be the sin offering, 3)Totally neglect the definition/criteria of a sin offering previously established in texts like Exo 29, Lev 4, and everywhere else it talks about sin offerings, and 4) interpret verses 9 and 10 of Lev 16 with absolutely no respect for what the conjunction "BUT" does with ideas that are mentioned before and after it. Anyone who believes this interpretation, just read Lev 16:9 and 10 with respect to the use of the word, "BUT":
    Lev 16:9 And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD'S lot fell, and offer HIM FOR A SIN OFFERING.
    Lev 16:10 BUT the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.
    "But" is not the word to use to express inclusiveness; it always contrasts or puts difference between two ideas. Yet we are being told that both are included in the sin offering. Let's continue to pray that Elce, Myles, and others who espouse this can see how foggy and shaky this interpretation really is and accept Bible truth.

    *There are those among professed Christians who do not see much of importance or value in the God-ordained temple services;* - *yet it is true that the gospel plan of salvation as revealed in the New Testament is made much clearer by an understanding of the Old Testament.* - *In fact, it may confidently be said that he who understands the Levitical system of the Old Testament,* - *can much better understand and appreciate the New Testament.* - *The one foreshadows the other and is a type of it.* - *The priests were ministers of God divinely appointed as mediators between God and men, particularly authorized to officiate at the altar and in the service of the sanctuary.*
    *In the service of the priesthood three things stand out prominently above the rest:* - *mediation,* - *reconciliation,* - *sanctification.* -*Each of these deserves a special word of emphasis.*
    *The priests were first of all mediators.* - *This was pre-eminently their work.* - *Although the sinner might bring the offering, he could not sprinkle the blood or burn the flesh on the altar.* - *Neither could he eat the shewbread, or offer the incense, or even trim the lamps.* - *All this someone else must do for him.* - *Although he could approach the temple,* - *he could not enter it;* - *though he could supply the sacrifice,* - *he could not offer it;* - *though he could kill the lamb,* - *he could not apply the blood.* - *God was accessible to him only through the mediation of the priesthood.* - *He could approach God only in the person of another.* - *All this would strikingly bring to mind the fact that he needed someone to intercede for him.*
    *We are reconciled to God by the death of His Son* [Rom.5:10]. - *Reconciliation is effected by blood* [2 Chron.29:24].* - *Into the first apartment of the sanctuary the priest entered day by day to commune with God* [Lev.6:3]. - *There was the holy incense reaching even beyond the veil into the most holy* [Lev.16:12]; - *there was the candlestick emblematic of Him who is the light of the world;* - *the table of the Lord inviting communion; and the sprinkling of the blood.* - *It was a place of drawing near to God -- of fellowship.* - *Through the ministry of the priest forgiveness was extended, reconciliation effected, man brought into communion with God.*
    *The whole plan of salvation was laid open to them as far as it could be revealed in types and offerings.* - *Every ceremony tended to impress upon their minds the holiness of God and the sure results of sin.* - *It also taught them the wonderful provision made through the death of the lamb.* - *Although it was a ministration of death, it was glorious in its promise.* - *It told of a redeemer, a sin bearer, a burden sharer, a mediator.* - *It was the gospel in embryo.*
    *The first lesson God wanted to teach Israel THROUGH THE SACRIFICIAL SYSTEM WAS THAT SIN MEANS DEATH.* - *Again and again this lesson was impressed upon their hearts.* - *Every morning and evening throughout the year a lamb was offered for the nation.* - *Day after day the people brought their sin offerings, their burnt or thank offerings, to the temple.* - *In each case an animal was slain and the blood was sprinkled in the appointed place.* - *On every ceremony and at every service the lesson was stamped, Sin means death.*
    *Through this solemn ritual, that man would be deeply impressed with the heinousness of sin,* - *and would go away from the temple with a firm determination not to sin again.* - *The fact that he had killed an animal would teach him as nothing else could do,* - *that sin means death, and that when anyone sins, the lamb must die.*
    *God wished to impress upon Israel was that forgiveness of sin can be obtained ONLY THROUGH CONFESSION AND THE MINISTRATION OF THE BLOOD.* - *This served to impress Israel deeply with the cost of forgiveness.* - *Forgiveness of sin is more than merely overlooking faults.* - *It costs something to forgive; AND THE COST IS A LIFE, EVEN THE LIFE OF THE LAMB OF GOD.*
    *Of the final judgment the Revelator says:* - *"I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the book, according to their works."* Rev.20:12. - *"The dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books."* - *The Day of Atonement was a type of that day.* - *There were no books kept in the sanctuary.* - *But there was a record of sin.* - *Every drop of blood on the altar of burnt offering sprinkled in the morning and evening service constituted a record of sins committed.* - *On the horns of the same altar,* - *and also on the holy place, a record of sins forgiven was made by the sprinkling of blood as sinners came with their personal sacrifices to obtain forgiveness.* - *On the Day of Atonement the sins of those who had already obtained forgiveness were blotted out.* - *The others were "cut off."* - *Thus, the sanctuary was cleansed of the record of sin accumulated through the year.* - *This cleansing of the record also effected the cleansing of the people whose sins already had been forgiven.* - *The sins were blotted out.* - *They no longer remain as a witness against the people.* - *Atonement was made, and the people were not under condemnation.*
    *THE DAY OF ATONEMENT WAS THE GREAT day in Israel.* - *It was peculiarly holy, and on it no work must be done.* - *The Jews called it Yoma, the day.* - *IT WAS THE KEYSTONE OF THE SACRIFICIAL SYSTEM.* - *Whoever did not on that day afflict his soul, was cut off from Israel.* Lev.23:29. - *The Day of Atonement, occurred on the tenth day of the seventh mouth, called Tishri,* - *about the latter part of our October.* - *The special preparation for this day began ten days earlier.* - *Of this the Jewish Encyclopedia, article "Atonement," says:* - *"The first ten days of Tishri grew to be the ten penitential days of the year intended to bring about a perfect change of heart, and to make Israel like newborn creatures, the culmination being reached on the Day of Atonement when religion's greatest gift, God's condoning mercy, was to be offered to man."* --Vol.11, p.281.
    *"The statement is further made that the idea developed also in Jewish circles that on the first of Tishri, the sacred New Year's Day and the anniversary of creation, man's doings were judged and his destiny was decided, and that on the tenth day of Tishri the decree of heaven was sealed."* [Ibid].
    *A Jewish conception of what took place on the Day of Atonement is given in the Jewish Encyclopedia as follows:* - *"God, seated on His throne to judge the world, at the same time Judge, Pleader, Expert, and Witness, openeth the Book of Records; it is read, every man's signature being found therein. The great trumpet is sounded; a still, small voice is heard; the angels shudder, saying, This is the day of judgment: for His very ministers are not pure before God. As a shepherd mustereth his flock, causing them to pass under his rod, so doth God cause every living soul to pass before Him to fix the limit of every creature's life and to foreordain its destiny. You guys are fantastic! Raised by God and led by the Holy Spirit to work the harvest when it is most needed, for time is soon to run out… Myles and Halal, if you should stop resisting the Holy Spirit, so much light would reflect from you. Stop resisting truths.
    @1:30 in the video, Leviticus 16:5 does indeed say “…2 kids of the goats for a sin offering…” This text does not however say that they were both offered as such even though they were both selected for the same purpose, that is either goat could be a potential choice at the selection, or the casting of lots. We see this example with the two Jesus’s in the gospel of (Matthew 27:16…) Chist was selected to be a sin offering, and Barabbas let go. ( He probably went hiding in the desert because he escaped death lol. Don’t quote me on that one). The Bible is simple if you simply read it. 2 Goats for a sin offering is like an introduction; this language or context is used here because the casting of lots had yet to be done. If the animals were different and God had already chosen which would be kill without the casting of lots, perhaps Myles and Halal, and many others would be right. We can no longer afford to resist the teachings of the Holy Spirit who instructs us in all truths.

    • @AdventDefenseLeague
      @AdventDefenseLeague  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      No, he doesn't. Keep in mind, though, that neither of the two goats were designated their particular roles yet until lots were cast. Since they did not know which would represent the Lord's goat, obviously both had to be taint free to start the process. Later on, both were tainted with sin, yet only one died.
      The scriptures say that Satan sinned. It also says that Christ BECAME sin for us. One willingly sinned. The other never sinned but willingly became sin. Yet only Christ was sacrified. Satan was not. Which one of the two goats was sacrificed?

    Verse 5. - And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats. It was necessary that the sacrifice offered for a person or class of persons should be provided by the offerer or offerers. The two kids of the goats, or rather the two he-goats, constituted together but one sin offering. This is important for the understanding of the sequel". There’s a type and anti-type. You seem to have difficulty understanding in clear text that there is a sacrifice and also a symbolic transfer of sin onto the scapegoat. When you understand the physical practice of the Jewish nation, you will understand what will happen to sin and how it’s transferred to the back originator, meaning Satan at the end. The parallel is amazing and easy to comprehend.

    Forget about Miles . Time to focus on the whole of leviticus 16 . It teaches that we have righteous by emulating Jesus not because of Jesus . Why would God's Son offer a heifer as a sin offering for His Family i.e. for God our Father and His Son ?
    ALSO what does a burnt offering mean( your answer should know why God had no choice for the killing of Aaron's two eldest)
    Also why was the goat an sin offering for the congregation ( answer should include Genesis 3v15 ).
    Miles' probation will close when it closes for the SDA which is when the number 144,000 is reached .Miles won't be given a second chance when the 144,000 preach the second message .
    Read Hebrews 9 and ask can any doctrine that dismisses Moses be true . ( the red heifer represents Jesus ' divinity). The mind of Jesus and the name of the Father is love described three times in the last chapter of John . The three times mention caveats that without that love you can not be saved by the preaching of any one of Rev 14.

    So here's my question? What type of offering was the scapegoat?

    • @thatnicekid04
      @thatnicekid04 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      The scapegoat fulfills the type of atonement that you see in Numbers 25:1-13. Purging out all the wickedness.
      As in the type, after the high priest comes out of the most holy place he places the sins on the head of the scapegoat and sends him to the wilderness, likewise when Jesus comes out of the Most Holy Place in the Heavenly Sanctuary, He will place the guilt of all sins on the originator of sin, the devil, and send him to the wilderness never to come back in the camp of the people of God.

    You guys have it so wrong, when we pray and say lord please take away my sins, are we in the same breath saying lord please let Satan take away my sin ? Both Goat represents Jesus Christ, the goat was killed for our sins (Jesus died for our sins) and the goat that took away our sins in the wilderness. Jesus Christ, if you want to include Satan in the atonement work then that’s on you, this doctrine is one of the most blasphemous things the SDA teaches.
