Right?! They put off some heat for sure, something very useful in Alaska.

Great choice! There's a reason why the Jotul 602 has been popular for DECADES! Enjoy!

I can't wait for mine to arrive. The same one you have. It takes months to get one of these. If our did not arrive on this shipment, we wouldn't get one till May.

Very cool. Yeah I think ours took about 8 weeks to get up here. Well let us know how you like it once it comes in 👍

I have a 602 in my cabin and its WONDERFUL. However Im getting short burn times. I stoke at like 11 and wake up at 3 4 and its out zero left burned to ash... I guess I need to dampen down to like ZERO more. I really want a 6 hour stoke but seams like 4 is all im getting..

Keep some ash inside the firebox. When reloading rake all the coals forward then pack the stove full. Burn on high air til it catches good then Med air then all the way shut. It should burn the load front to back and leave some coals in the back 5-8 hour latter depending on the wood.

How much did the stove itself cost? I assume you got it new and installed it yourselves? I have to replace my classic Jøtul cigar stove after many years of dependable service. I paid $75 for it used, and drove it home in the backseat of my car, lol. Apparently, the prices are protected. Used stoves are at a premium and are being snapped up quickly.

    How much it worth?

Wood stoves range anywhere from 1300-5000 new depending on what you’re looking for. If you’re looking to buy one, I’d recommend finding someone local near you and talking to others in your area for where they bought theirs. It is well worth the investment!
