Just bought an i3....this video helped me a lot, thanks

So pleasing to see real physical buttons, not attention-scavenging touch controls. Other manufactures, take notes!
I aspire to own an i3 when my budget permits (current prediction, in 2025 I'll buy a used 2022 i3).
Thank you for this excellent walk-through.

If you rest your finger on one of the 1-8 buttons without pressing it, it will flash a quick reminder of what it is programmed for on the screen.

That is a super useful feature, especially when you've just set the buttons!

I think the BMW infotainment is the best there is, BUT one thing that others have over BMW which I hope they add one day (unless I am missing something) is the speed limit of the road you are on displayed on maps. It's very useful in other cars I have had/driven. So many times you don't see the speed limit on the road signs and it's very helpful to just look at your map and see.

Definitely agree on the infotainment, not ever noticed the speed limit function but I typically use carplay which mitigates this.

Great video! Just a quick tip: I presume you also have a video explaining how to actually drive the car, maybe put that in the description of the video? Just so peeps like me who found this video first can quickly go to the 'first in series' vid and then go back to watch this more detailed one!

How can you show the Speed Limit on the instrument cluster?

On the sat nav can you set it so the view is more on ground level instead of being a over the too birds eye view

    Really nice guide, thanks!
Is the base screen the same as this, just smaller?

    • @DriveGreen
      @DriveGreen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, pretty much.
There's a few small differences: like the ability to split screen for example.
If you have any other questions, please do get in touch!

Hi I’ve got a question, the voice control system on my i3rex has stopped functioning and I think the mute might be activated can you please tell me how to turn it off, when I press the voice button on steering wheel the mic symbol appears and it bongs to show it’s activated but it won’t accept any commands plus I can’t input an address on navigation via voice control. It looks like the mic might be turned off/muted

Hi guys, BMW i3 2018, impossible to do next track on a bluetooth device with the steering wheel. (this wheel does next track into a bmw connected apps) Next track only work with buttons full right on the dashboard (not practile), any fix for that ?

Probably to late to help you, but if you have an Apple device, hold down the "speak" button on the steering wheel (beyond just pressing to talk to the car itself) until you hear the Siri beep, then say, "Siri, next song."
