    Great video... BUT you can store the charging bung on the hook of the charger flap without it dangling like on your video. There is a thin lip around the edge of the bung which slots nicely in to the hook on the charging flap. The advantage of doing this is that the charging bung doesn't collect water in the rain!

    3:20 on the sides of the AC cover there is are latches to attach it to the flap. You don’t need to use the strap.

    Very useful video! I could not resist trying the emergency braking using the parking brake switch and can confirm that it works really well. Anyone teaching someone to drive in an i3 should know about this function because you can grab the wheel with one hand and apply full braking with the other - it's just like having dual controls !

    I spent ages trying to find a good used i3 in the colour I wanted with adaptive cruise control. Being a "city car" it seems to be a rare option. Hopefully collecting it next Wednesday. Now you say it's not a very reliable system ! arrgghhhh.
    Another very useful video so thanks for posting

    • @stumbledotcom
      @stumbledotcom ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s reliable in as much you’ll reliably get the error when driving directly into the sun. Though based on my experience with a 14, 17, and 21, the system was improved in later model years. I rarely see the error in the 21.

    • @kmusicmagazine
      @kmusicmagazine ปีที่แล้ว

      This is actually one of the very few flaws of this great car. When the adaptive one stops, the car actually slows down and breaks. For others cars behind you, the driver in front of them breaks without apparent reason. That could really be dangerous.

    • @blairfalconer915
      @blairfalconer915 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, the adaptive cruise control is good when it works though. Had an i3s as a courtesy car recently and that only had the regular cruise control, you certainly notice the difference 👍

    Hello Martin,
    Another great video, very informative. Wondering if you guys can do a video on what can cause charging problems on the i3? Recently my i3 started flashing red and gave an error message saying charging cable problem? I thought the charging cable lock was not working properly and replaced it with a new one but still get the error and can't charge the car. Any ideas on what I should check next?

    Thanks o much for these tips and tricks. I love my i3, I do have a couple of niggles with the software though, perhaps you know if the following is possible… 1- automatically apply the parking brake when Park and/or Stop is selected? 2- on Start i3 defaults to Comfort drive mode, can it be set to remember the previous drive mode, eg Eco Pro?

    I use the wiper service mode if I'm parking in heavy rain. It reduces debris getting caught under the blades.

    Interesting and useful info. Can you please tell more about optional "heat pump" and how to set and operate it in i3, thanks in advance.

    • @jaakkoiswatching6437
      @jaakkoiswatching6437 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The heat pump is just a more efficient heater, operated just like the standard one. It does make some noise though, it uses the AC compressor for heating too and the radiator fan humms.

    Is it possible to do comfort access without using the remote, i.e. from a control inside the car? In a tight garage, you want it to exit the car without rummaging around in pocket for the key in order to activate comfort access/exit.

  • @mrimpulsive1
    @mrimpulsive1 ปีที่แล้ว

    two things :1rst ) Is there a way to keep the car on when opening and leaving the car such as a quick stop like ou can do with all other vehicles in the world so you don't have to start again upon entry .
    2 ) any common issues that happen that causes car not to come out of park and leaves you stranded . You put car into drive bounce back to park or neutral but will not go anywhere . square around blinking park shows up in the small main screen ? two places seem to suggest since EME shows on on of the many error codes EME . It that was the case I would buy just dont want to buy just to find it related to something else like a parking moduel ?
    Seems to be popular issues in blogs so maybe good subject for upcoming video :)

    • @wiselyauto
      @wiselyauto  ปีที่แล้ว

      1) Not really but there is no harm in the car being turned on/off frequently.
      2) We are looking at doing some videos exploring the i3 drivetrain in the near future.
