Glad to see you wrapping up this series bro :) I ended up getting some of the dlc based on your videos. Hope you're getting Clans, keen to see if you can still play some mercenaries styled gameplay
Glad I could help inform your decisions about the DLC! I'm getting Clans the day it comes out and I'll probably even livestream my first experience with the game here on TH-cam. I really hope in launches in a good state.
I have realized that I've had this DLC for almost 2 years, I constantly play the game but never once have I actually started the campaign because f Kurita.
I don't know, boss. You say up the challenge, but I'm fighting against some ten to twenty thousand tons in enemy tonnage (not counting tanks and air assets) a mission while I can only bring in 400 tons.
I think there's a damage reduction based upon your speed, and hostile attention accumulates as you fire. If you stand still a lot, and have been dealing damage, you're gonna be the center of attention without alacrity's modesty curtain. You should only ever stop moving when you realize you probably shouldn't ever stop moving.
Plus, most assault mechs have massive head hotboxes. If you have nice long range weapons, like the nightstar in the video, you can decapitate an Awesome with 1-2 shots.
I recently got this DLC on a sale. I do think it's worth it for a reduced price, but the normal price is a bit steep. That said, I think the campaign missions are better than the rise of rasalhague missions, which often seemed to be slightly altered versions of regular missions. What's the music you played in the outro?
I agree. This DLC is easily worth it if you can buy it on sale. The Dragon's Gambit campaign seems to have had more work put into it than what we got with Rise of Rasalhague's. The only saving grace for Rise is that it also gives us the rival mercenaries mechanic. The song I used is Two Moons by Bobby Richards.
game continues to be a dissappointment because of its abysmal release state that laid the ground for every dlc to just be clutter that dosent change anything significant
I wouldn't personally call the game a disappointment, but I definitely have notes. The launch was rough and it took the devs a very long time to address seemingly simple issues. Some of those issues, like the idiotic AI, were never truly resolved. That being said, some people do their best work after learning from their mistakes. I'm rooting for the developers because I want MW 5 Clans to be really good, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried too.
This is why im very skeptical about the new Clans release, the AI has always been bad in MW5 and I've played over 300 hours (mostly modded) so I'm well familiar with this game and the issues. I don't see that they have fixed the AI to a decent degree that will improve the gameplay experience significantly enough. Lets see
@@Logan912 its not okay to need to pay another 60$ in dlc for miniscule features that get dwarfed by mods and its not okay to need modding to have a not barebones experience
@@maze4184 Welcome to modern gaming which does indeed suck now that it’s become the norm. Of course, back in the day, we had expansion packs, these DLCs are all cheaper than those were, and I’d hardly call Kestral Lancers, Rasalhague, Dragon’s Gambit, and Solaris “minuscule.” Honestly though, my least favorite in the series is still MechWarrior 4 which was a step back from MW3 in nearly every way.
This was great. BUT YOU GOTTA DO SOLARIS! IT HAS THE MAN THE MYTH THE LIVING LEGEND OF THE ARENA! DUNCAN FISHER!
Solaris Showdown aka the return of the king!

Thanks for continuing with the reviews they are perfect.

I can't blame you. They are sarcastically evil at times.
Yeah but they got sick mechs
Also cmon its fun being the baddie
Youre a mercenary, if you live you get to keep the money
wtf, this is the dumbest thing ive read in a long time. You realize it's a story? and a game?
Yooo, didnt think you would make these anymore.
Very happy being wrong. 😊

They have to stack the deck against us. It's the only way they stand a chance! …Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be hiding in a corner for no reason.
@@ElphBoyK That repair bill sure is stacking the deck, huh?

The mad lad did it!
WAIT WHAT? There is dogs in the game? *petmode activate!!" ;=P

the Longbow just sucks.. expensive arm weapons with no backup? Yeah, it is like Victor but worse. Awesome 8T beats it even when AI uses it.
I agree. Even the best Longbow variant feels mid at best. There are much better fire support mechs out there for similar and even lower tonnage.
Was that a Johnny sighting at the end of your video?
Yep! He just kinda hopped onto my bed while I was recording lol.
😮

It's not 2019 anymore. It's okay to like MechWarrior 5 now, and it has been *massively* improved with updates and the DLC.
