@@brandonlesko3126 it was destroyed by the welfare laws and then punishment that was given to people for possession of crack that reagan implemented. And the men who sold drugs to feed their families were sent to prison for years. Which crippled the neighborhoods leading to more drugs being sold. And more fathers not being home.

I have worked as an attendance at a youth correctional facility and Collin is 100% accurate about the kids carrying gun in the inner cities !!! I cannot count how many times I've taught non-gun people how to shoot. Every single one lit up like a light bulb. There are few other things that match the empowerment and sheer pleasure of firing a gun safely and effectively. I'm really glad to hear you are considering becoming a gun owner.

My friend that manages a gun range and does the firearm training said when the pandemic started, at least in Orange County, the was a ton of left leaning types were coming in and massively butt hurt about having to wait to go through the process that their ideology created, to buy a gun/guns. Kinda crazy what happens when people start getting violent in the streets and the target becomes the affluent. This is all the result of how the internet is being used as a tool. Life on this planet could be so cool right now but society is stuck. Makes me want to become Dr. Manhattan and become such a threat because of my immense power and lack of conventional morality that your groups have to get over your problems and force me off planet. The ends would justify the means.
I recently started getting into guns a few months ago and my friend took me to a gun range in RI cause Massachusetts gun laws are fucking ridiculous. I live in a very liberal household so much of my knowledge on guns and gun owners is limited and it wasn't until recently that I started agreeing more and more with conservative views. When I went into the gun store the first thing I noticed were that around 1/2 of display guns were gone and the ammo shelves were practically empty, I asked the guy why there was an ammo shortage and so many guns were sold out and he told me about how many guns he sold personally and the number of gun owners that increased during 202 alone I was legitimately shocked. I think one of the problems of living in a state like Massachusetts is that you never really hear about the other side of the aisle and are stuck in this extremely liberal bubble so you tend to forget about the rest of the country and how it operates and thinks.
I feel you. I live in MA, few towns from RI and never really gave guns much thought, good or bad until about 5 years ago. I had thought about getting my LTC a few times then I started working with a lot of gun owners and got into it. I remember when Maura Healey banned "assault rifles" out of the blue and a bunch of my boys at work were buying rifles after work before the band took place. I was still waiting for my LTC to be approved. Got it like a month later smh. A lot of guys lived in RI and always talked about the guns they bought that I couldn't own. Ridiculous
12.5 million background checks were performed in the first three months of 2021. That's as many as the entire year of 2008. Not everyone passes those checks, but conversely you only need one check per time you purchase, so some people are buying multiple guns per check.
That's a good point but most people who aren't into guns personally or didn't grow up around them usually don't know anything about guns or the laws other than what what's been told to them, regardless of their political ideology.
Look up how many crimes are prevented or defended against using guns. The estimates go up to 3 million a year! Criminalizing guns might prevent 20K gun deaths but would increase crime by 3M.

False. How does no one actually study American history and yet feel the need to showcase their lack of education. You and all others on this comment section have zero understanding of its history. It had nothing to do with normal private citizens and everything to do with the militia. So if you’re apart of the national guard, you get to have a regulated weapon. Not apart of the militia, no weapon. It’s literally that simple. But, go and study the words during the debates on the bill of rights, given it came AFTER the constitution was adopted. Also, it wasn’t until the 70s that the NRA took over the false narrative people like you regurgitate. Most homes in America in the 19th century and into the 20th century had no operable weapons in the home. You might also want to look into the south and how they used militias to control slaves. I can go on, but I’ve already spoken above you and know too many like you to know you’ll never do research, just eat up confirmation bias. Typical fascists.
How can a militia form if the populous doesn't have access to firearms. Its there to prevent tyrannical rule. The reason the founding fathers gave the right to guns to the citizens is so they could make a militia to rise up against ANY tyrannical rule , especially our own.
@@danielclark6912 literally false. Founders were against violent uprising against their government. 2A was for states rights to have militias bc the founders were against a standing army. They would then be regulated by the states and join in on war to form a collective militia of states. This was until the war of 1812, where congress then never looked back on forming and approving an army every two years. Almost all gun owning homes in the 19th century had no operable weapons. And again, the government could literally give a shit about private citizens owning weapons in terms of being scared in any way. It’s adorable you’ve never watched drone footage and the fact they wouldn’t even need to deploy people to take everyone out. But again, the founders were literally against violent uprising, as it says in the constitution and even talked about in the Declaration of Independence a decade earlier. Look at Philly...145+ homicides this year, 15+ children being included in that & it takes a law-abiding citizen MONTHS to schedule an appointment for a concealed carry permit which then takes a couple more months to get into your hands. Where you live, which I presume is Canada there is a federal firearms license requirement. It's rational. Canadians are screened for mental health. Thus they have one mass shooting every 24 years while the USA has a mass shooting every 24 hours. Sometimes more than one a day. The Canadians require every federal Firearms license applicant go through in person Firearms training for rifles and hand gun. They are given a test to make sure they were paying attention. Then after the background check is done their license is issued into a live federal database. The minute a person commits a violent crime their license is immediately suspended. If a mental health patient is put on anti psychotic medication their license is suspended. They receive a message from the local police to turn in their firearms. The day a Canadian who has been vetted receives their federal firearms license they can buy any gun online. They must store it securely. They must transport it securely. And they are NOT allowed to sell it in a parking lot at midnight to a person that never shows their ID and may well be a convicted violent felon. Yes that's what we allow in America. Canadians are smart, fought the Nazis at Normandy and consider themselves every bit as free as Americans.
@@porscheoscar OOOO, a mass shooting every 24 hours you say?! Keep in mind though, you are far more likely to die in a stabbing here in America than you are from a mass shooter, by an order of like 5x more likely, or close enough to it. And imagine how few people you ever knew to have been stabbed to death. Yet, everyone treats it as if it is some big monster that is likely to kill your kids tomorrow. If we fix some of these cultural issues we have, we can really help with this sort of thing. Now imagine this: There once was a time where people had access to firearms with plenty of ammo that could still shoot fast enough, at a rate far higher in gun ownership today... And... There were no mass school shooters or anything. I mean, there was violence, but it was very much different than all the tropes for all the mass shooters you seem to want to pretend. You seem to be skipping a LOT about how this is culture, and that is only one in a thousand statistics that can be brought up to prove it. We need to ask why some of these numbers are higher than they used to be, even among populations with similar gun ownership as before, with even more restrictions on them than before. As for overall gun violence, remember, states like Vermont have similar murder rates than much of western europe, even beating out the UK for a number of years in the last decade, before much of their surge in knife crime in the UK recently. Yet, Vermont is very lax in the gun laws compared to most other liberals states for instance. Yet, most of the gun violence in this nation are actually statistics from the inner cities, and parts of this country others simply do not have. And the culture in the places of the violence, and those that don't.... Oh yeah, starting to see something? And comparing gun and non gun places, numbers, history (USSR is a case that I found always particularly fascinating for this, for instance), and we can see the same sort of rules and problems exist, that effect these numbers to a degree far higher than simple gun ownership.
@@porscheoscar Recently a gun ban happened though that banned most firearms by name however, even though the shooting that prompted this change was carried out with ILLEGAL, unregistered firearms.

New Jersey was the first state to recently allow gun tracing after violent gun crimes. Information the NRA has fought for decades to hide. It Basically proved what everyone suspected. 1. There are countless objects that can be used as weapons or to make weapons. Criminals and madmen would continue to kill. 2. In the USA there are so many weapons, that even in the impossible case that all honest people would decide to ban weapons and it would happen. It is simply not possible to eliminate the huge stock that would circulate on the black market. Criminals and psychopaths are not afraid of the law. So, combating the causes of violence and poverty is extremely difficult, but it is possible and it has been shown that in these areas much has been improved since the 20th century.
@an angry ninja. Welcome to the gun culture you will be introduced to some of the nicest people you have ever met. But sorry you got into firearms at probably to worst time but don’t worry ammo and everything will come back don’t panic I’ve been through four ammo shortages lol

Ffs clowns regurgitating talking points they don’t even understand. It’s literally fascinating how few people I’ve ever come across that have actually studied our founders, read their letters and speeches and studied their debates. Yet you all have concrete unmovable positions. The literal definition of sheep.

"Assault weapons' menacing looks, coupled with the public's confusion over fully-automatic machine guns versus semi-automatic assault weapons - anything that looks like a machine gun is assumed to be a machine gun - can only increase the chance of public support for restrictions on these weapons."
Look at Philly...145+ homicides this year, 15+ children being included in that & it takes a law-abiding citizen MONTHS to schedule an appointment for a concealed carry permit which then takes a couple more months to get into your hands. This guy is so smart and we'll spoken. He gets right down to the bottom of the issues at hand.
Excellent clip! This cannot be heard too many times.
Brother I can't tell you how much I appreciate listening to a civil and meaningful conversation about firearms. Where I live only the bad guys have guns and now the Liberal government is talking about mandatory buy backs for the ever shrinking legal gun owner's....Cheers 🍻
@@adrianbundy3249 all of those cultural problems exist in every other country of the world. Yet they don't have remotely the number of gun homicide, suicide and mass shootings because they have sensible gun control laws. We have the GOP, the NRA and the Trump crowd dodging the obvious reality
and regarding gun crimes in liberal cities. New Jersey was the first state to recently allow gun tracing after violent gun crimes. Information the NRA has fought for decades to hide. It Basically proved what everyone suspected. Guns are sold in Republican states with no control laws and are then transported into the inner cities where criminals pay triple or more.
@@resolamai4190 yes of course the crime was committed with a gun that was illegal because legally acquiring a gun in Canada requires an extensive background check including psychological in the first place. Meanwhile vrtually everyone of the mass shootings in America where 10 or more people are murdered occurred with a 100% LEGALLY obtained firearm
This was so well said. Very refreshing to hear someone that knows what they’re talking about. You could see joe itching in his seat to refute what he was saying but he knew he couldn’t cuz it was true
Rather than trying to deal with why people are killing each other they focus on removing the tools they're killing each other with.
A good first start.
Yeah, because humans haven't been killing each other since they found the stick, but apparently there's a way to stop that that everyone has been missing all this time....
On the other hand, to eliminate weapons from a country as large as the USA is not difficult, it is impossible.
Then, What is the logical answer if the idea is to help people and prevent murders?
@@r.daneel.90 eh, it was a tongue and cheek reply. Banning all guns is a silly idea. Regulation is the answer and where it gets complicated quickly. It's just funny, and frustrating, when people plop down in the camps of ban all guns or do nothing.
@@Charles-js3ri They are already regulated. What more do you want? Criminals do not care about new laws. They are criminals. Making it harder to get guns only hurts honest citizens.

This makes sense to me. It's the reason you always have a sidearm in the woods in case of predators and threats, be it animal or human. You just never know what you'll encounter
That's right! Instead of solving the reasons for gun violence, they just want to scapegoat guns, because they are elitist, they serve the corporations and the rich. That's why they will never solve POVERTY issue in this country.

Germany before Hitler was a lot like America. Most people owned guns and most knew how to use them from an early age. Hitler came into power and slowly took the guns away "for the greater good" and when he took over, the people that resisted, they didn't have guns to fight back.

"Growing up in poverty" isn't even the cause of murderous violence. The 'cause' is lack of parenting.
Oh yeah I bet you would know tough guy 😂
@@fizzysoccer Oh I do, chinese bot ;D
@Hacked at 1k Poverty didn’t do that lack of parenting did the world is filled with Third World countries filled with poverty whose families are tight close wholesome and they raise good children. 95% of America was in poverty over 100 years ago but people weren’t murderous idiots running the streets shooting guns at night into neighborhoods and taking selfies with cash and illegal weapons.
@Hacked at 1k It doesn't have to. Once again, that's a myth that democrats spread in order to pander for votes. If you or I are poor and we meet a woman, marry her, have kids, but we are struggling financially, then we simply live in a crappy house, drive a crappy pos car, eat less good as others, not have nice clothes or a new iphone, etc... but no one is holding our hand and making us smoke a crack rock or inject our veins with heroine. We have the choice to be a present parent and raise and teach our kids correctly. Crime comes from the "hit it and forget it" mentality of men just banging anything that walks and not being there for their kids to teach them as well as mothers, as well as self indulgence in drugs use(a choice).
You're a grown adult, it's not the "governments"(ie: hard working tax payer dollars from people who make better choices with their lives) job to give you money as an adult. It's your job to figure out your life and fix it.
Damn he articulated this so well. This needs to be heard by far more. Great intelligent insight. 👏

So simple, so true, so well said. He sums it all up in less than 10 minutes. I couldn't agree more!
This country has changed so drastically that my mother who has been a lifelong anti-gun person that after 2020 riots in Minneapolis she went out and instantly bought a gun. She now has her permit to carry and is now a daily gun carrier just cuz how close the riots were to us. I think that speaks volumes on its own and feel like most of the other new gun owners in america were the same way she was about guns until as of recent.
@Raylan Givens I bet you she’s still anti-gun and still voting for the same gun grabbers who made it hard for us law-abiding citizens to buy guns in the first place.
@Raylan Givens i agree with both statements above. I got my pistol about a year ago. shocked to see how methodically careful gun owners are with firearm and felt immediately embarrassed that I was ignorant and that i don't drive with the same seriousness as because driving a car can be equally dangerous.
