    So this proarmor over the Manis any day?? It looks definitely cool and less bulky than it's predecessor, but the red rubber parts in-between really look like they gonna snap easy when overextending or folding.

    Is it better to get this or to just buy a back protector that goes into a jacket?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on what riding you intend to do. If you ride on the track or just want to have one back protector to use with multiple jackets, then it makes sense to use a standalone back protector like this. -DrewZilla

    How do I measure my back to see if I am Short or Long

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Measure from your shoulder to your natural waist (at navel height) (or have a friend help).
      *Short Type: 39cm-46cm (15.4"-18")
      *Long Type: 46cm-51cm (18"-20")
      *SM/MD: fits up to 38" waist
      *LG/2XL: fits up to 48" waist
      Hope this helps! -DrewZilla

    So im 5ft8, 130lbs.35 in chest Is it a good idea to get the long Large-XL size to get maximum coverage? It seems like this armor only protects your spine rather than your entire back.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, for your height and weight, I recommend the complete opposite: the Short XS-MD. The Long Large would be too cumbersome. -DrewZilla

    revzilla which would be better for protection wise the equivalent manis or this pro Armour back protector

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The equivalent Manis offers a bit more protection due to the wider coverage, but it is heavier and less flexible compared to the Pro-Armor. Both offer CE Level 2 impact protection (higher than CE Level 1). -DrewZilla

    which one is safer, pro armor or alpinestar kr-1. They're both level 2 but does it mean exactly same level of protection?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Level 2 means that the force transferred is under 9 kN, but the brands aren't required to say what the actual force transferred is. Alpinestars has said that the KR-1 passes at 6 kN of force. Dainese is likely closer to 9 kN, and since lower is better, I would consider the KR-1. -DrewZilla

      @@RevZilla Thank you, I bought KR-1 and shipping was quite fast. I am 180cm and I bought LG, It's still fine but I think MD would be better especially under the suit.

    Can I use it as an insert for my HF D1 jacket?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, this race-style version is too tall/large to fit the pocket on the HF D1. Your jacket would accept the smaller Pro Armor G Insert. -DrewZilla

    doest seem to protect bending backwards , too flex ?

    • @laktoweiz
      @laktoweiz 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      8300 RPM for that go with the dainese wave air backprotector. Most of the trackriders use it :)

    • @Uninfluenceable
      @Uninfluenceable 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      this is common misconception. Back protectors are not meant to keep you from hyperextending you back, they are more meant to keep impacts away from your spinal disks and thus damage to your very delicate spinal cord.

  • @maskdavid1991

    For racing how do you compare this to the Thorax wave pro?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both the Thorax Wave Pro and the Pro-Armor have CE Level 2 back protection, but the older Wave Pro has some additional shoulder blade protection. However, the Wave Pro is a 'one and done' protector, so it has to be replaced after an impact. The Pro Armor uses a nitrile rubber, so it can be used for multiple impacts. In racing, that can be beneficial for potential gear replacement costs. -DrewZilla

      Most back protectors of this caliber have similar dimensions. The link will take you to the product page where you can find the different measurements for the different sizes.

    is that made from by D3O ?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is not. Dainese uses a proprietary Nitrile material, somewhat similar to the materials employed by Forcefield, but it is not D3O. -TeamZilla Chris

    @revzilla what size is HVB wearing?

    • @JDeezle21
      @JDeezle21 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also I'm deciding between getting this or the Knox Microlock air back protector today. Any help or opinions would be helpful.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      HVB is wearing a Long / SM-MD. I personally find the Dainese Pro-Armor to have a bit more airflow and overall comfort, but that isn't to say the Knox Microlock Air isn't effective or worth considering. This really does come down to preference. I'd choose Dainese myself. -TeamZilla Chris
