Back protectors and speed humps are designed to work together. Folks on the track use them regularly. The main function of the speed hump is to make the rider more aerodynamic when in a tuck position. Depending on how the hump interfaces with your helmet, it can also help prevent neck injuries, but it's not its primary function. ~Ali
I had this product for 10 years and 2 days ago used it while for a full send MTB session. I had a major crash and it saved me...still broke my L1 vertebrae, but I can walk amd move... without it...well I dont even want to think about that. Top quality ❤
It is not just Dainese. There are hardly any brands that include back protectors from the start. One of the exceptions, is actually the Dainese Stradon, which comes with a CE Level 2 back protector. The expense goes into the materials, design, stitching, and experience Dainese has had producing premium jackets. -CK
That is difficult to say without testing it out. This back protector is offered in a few lengths. It might work if you opted for a shorter length. ~Ali
I suggest taking a measurement from your waist to your shoulder and compare it against the size chart on the product page. Based off your jeans size, you will probably take the large version. Keep in mind there are 8 sizes in total for this product, based off a combination of height and waist. ~Ali
I still wear mine since 2013. It is 9 years old (today is 2022). My adjustable shoulder straps are so old, they are no longer "stretchy" like a rubber band, they are just solid straps, like a backpack. The waist band strap is surprisingly still in good condition. I want to get a new Dainese back protector but none of them have the shoulder blades protection anymore.
All depends on the crash. The material is designed to absorb, not reflect energy, so it will crumple upon impact to protect your spine -- similar to a crumple zone in a car. -CK
I love this back protector! Great vid with lots of help full info for ordering through revzilla! It fits great with my taichi race suit with the stock back foam in the suit. It is conforms perfect to my back. I love it. I will always use revzilla tv when ordering. It just so help full!
Is this one better than the manis?also you said it’s one and done so can you not just replace the honeycomb material inside and use it again? I already have this one and I’m thinking if I should get the manis. Thanks
No, the Manis is better. Also, you cannot replace the material inside, so you have to replace the whole thing. I would consider the Manis or the Pro Armor. Hope this helps! -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-manis-d1-back-protector *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-pro-armor-back-protector
how will this fit with a teknic chicane jacket that has a neck/whiplash protector? a family member just had an accident that left him in very bad shape. im not jumping back on my bike until I invest in something like this
Thanks for reaching out! Which Wave Pro jacket are you referring to? -Hi-Viz Brian 1. Dainese Thorax Wave Pro? 2. Dainese Wave Chest Pro Protector? 3. Dainese Light Wave Jacket?
@MrJurgis14 Check out the size chart on the product page! It shows how to measure your waist to shoulder, and waist to find the right size. If there's anything else feel free to call our gear experts!
No, it's designed to be worn under a leather race suit. We're showing it without a race suit in this video, so that you can see how it fits the body. -DrewZilla

Yes, in most cases. If in doubt, you can always check with Dainese directly and they will evaluate it for you. -CK

So I'm guessing that a good rule of thumb would be that if the aluminum honeycomb isn't deformed, it can continue to be used?
