Man, I tried to warn you. So did Toby. So don't expect me to feel guilty... when Deltarune Chapter 2 comes out in several years along with the full game.
(I am the fool it came out but NOT along with the full game)
(Deltarune, as of the release of this video, is not a complete game. Toby Fox admitted that the first chapter is only a demo. I thus cannot make a full Deltarune the Musical, but what I CAN do is release individual songs that aren't connected like a musical!)

The climax with the King also wraps up Lancer's development, at least in the Pacifist route.
@@randomclouds4404 Well there is no 'pacifist route' the story is the same besides the darkners not coming to help. Toby said that no matter what you do in all of the game, it will always be largely the same, and the differences won't really effect the whole story
Cool detail I just noticed: One of the most important aspects of Susie's character, especially in the first chapter, is how rebellious she is (refusing to join the party, breaking rules, etc.) This rebellious nature is highlighted in her singing; in this song, as well as Susie and Field of Hopes and Dreams, Susie never sings to the actual melody of the songs, instead making up her own melodies.
Susie is rebelling against the music.
The one exception is here in Vs. Susie, where she sings along to her leitmotif in the chorus, which showcases Susie succumbing to people's perception of her as a villain, instead of rebelling against that notion.

Ralsei sings like a pop singer matching his lyrics to the melody.
Susie sings like a Rock Singer using the song as background noise for Actual lyrics.
Lancer sings like kid show singer censoring himself and being comical with his lyrics
And chaos King sings likes an opera with lyrics because that's older traditional style of music.

Deltarune is actually criticizing Undertale, which make a lot of things in it taking a direction fully opposed to Undertale, and some others things taking a step further.

Oh my God the voice actress for Susie is PERFECT. Others were hit or miss, but this one NAILS the role. From Susie's low, growling voice to hungry howls of betrayal, this voice couldn't be better done.

I love Susie's voice in this so much. She's so aggressive and has a low-pitched voice to match, even when she's singing it sounds like she's always trying to sound tough. Even when she's sad and trying to convince Lancer to let her go. But then, when Lancer asks if they're still friends, her voice gets a lot higher as she's genuinely caught off guard. She goes right back to the tough girl voice, but it's something that stuck out to me.

i like the idea of this track being "vs susie", because it's not really her against lancer. it's against herself. she's hurt by someone she considered a friend, and her first instinct is to get rid of them. to make them sorry for crossing her. this isn't about lancer. this is about her inner struggles. lancer is her friend. probably the first person she looked up to, possibly. she respected him and he respected her.

I... that was amazing.... the voice fits her perfectly, and the lyrics show off both sides of her, the side that’s hardened up, that no longer cares, and the side that hurts because she thought someone finally cared about her, that someone didn’t hate her for being herself. I like to think that Kris is the protagonist, but Susie will be the hero. Think about it, she's disobeyed the soul's orders SO many times and forced others to as well, like when she forced Ralsei to learn R-Action.
I wouldn't be surprised if we had to face her at the end of deltarune if there's a weird route for each new chapter and you do each of them on the same save slot
One thing I love about the songs in this musical is how you throw the original melody out the window and make your own to sing along with the song. It sounds so good and it’s such a nice breath of fresh air!

Susie, for once, genuinely found someone who didn't care about the violence she had internalized as part of herself - in fact, actively supported it - and finally had a taste of friendship... and now she thinks it was all for nothing. The first time I went through this fight and heard this song, I had only felt a semblance of the mix of anger and sadness that I came to understand Susie carried in her. Hearing THIS version of the song? I actually came close to crying at the final verse. There aren't any decent words for me to express how much I love this, how much I love that you and your friends use your talents to put together such amazing pieces except for two:
