I have both Trinity 3x110 and 165 3x110. While I agree that Trinity is lower, while cruising/going fast, I didn’t notice much of a difference. I tested using same wheels & bearings on both frames to get rid of variables as much as possible.

Thank you for the dialogue! It's nice that you can look at both sides of the coin so easily. Looking forward to seeing more of your skating progression!

There is a wheel setup that I was told about, someone named it the "fake rocker" where he set up his wheels like this:
    Flat setup,
Front and Back wheels are pointed or bullet profile - very narrow
Middle two wheels are wider and rounded.
That way when you push you feel like flat and when you tilt into edge is feels rockered

That sounds interesting. Never heard about it. Speaking of funny rockers, I saw another one for hockey players, there are some moving parts inside the frame that shift and rebalances as you move. I couldn’t find it just now and forgot the name. Would be great to make a research and a video about interesting rockers.

@@nikoblading I havent heard of that either, sounds interesting. I have seen something similar in skatepark skates. Speaking of skatepark skates, I use an unusual wheel setup in the skatepark, flat but with really hard wheels in the middle and softer ones on the outside.
My thinking is that the harder wheels dont grip so well, so are better for grinds as they wont bite as hard

@@Hdtjdjbszh I like your engineering approach to skating mate. I just came across another peculiar setup lately from NN frames, it's called Dragon+, the configuration of wheels is 90-80-80-80-90, I really want to try it.

I admire your enthusiasm to experiment. I recommend any Trinity frame. You will immediately feel the transfer of power between the boot and the frame.

All my frames I have is trinity mount, it just so happened that my first skates were PowerSlide and I got so attached to their boots and frames that I don't want to use anything else right now. So I'll trust your experience there. The only non trinity frame I have is wizard NR100, but it doesn't work for me so it's just collecting dust on the shelf.

Regarding specifically the Trinity mounting system, indeed they get us a bit lower, but I find I can't ride backwards too long with my Trinity setups. The frontal part of my feet starts to hurt, probably because Trinity throws our weight to this part of our feet. ☹️
Yeah. Sometimes I like to find a good flat parking lot and keep riding backwards for a considerable amount of time. 🤷🏼‍♂️
Truth be told, if I had to keep only one setup, it would be something with a 165 mounting system.

I'm using the K2 R100 frame adapted with 1cm adapter to my Rollerblade Twister XT boot. This frame has adjustable rocker and each axle can be set in 6 different positions. So you can have a flat, natural rocker, or even progressive rocker up to your needs and plans. :)
I got mine for about 60USD. It is not as rigid as typical wizard frames, but noticeably lighter. 311mm wheel base for some could be too long, but for larger feet like mine, it is fine. Also, I fixed some well known axle noise issues with a tiny layer of the teflon tape.

60 USD is like for free if you compare it with the price of wizard frame. Incredible amount of configurations. Looks nice too, I like this angular design. Cool stuff

@@nikoblading Cheapo one indeed, but unfortunately it reflects its build quality. Of course, it is not that bad anyways, and you can perform all the wizard moves on it, and the next day you set it back from rocker to flat when hitting the trail. The idea's great but I'd say it is more about the adjustable rocker system itself, which consists of a lot of tiny aluminum-made ports atached to quite a flexible lightweight frame that would never be as rigid and stiff as a frame dedicated for wizard/flow skating - especially at this price point. I used some Teflon tape ensuring all the rockering-spacers set tight with the frame already and thinking of using some Loctite on the axles too. In my opinion it is great entry-level wizard frame, especially considering the price of it, but besides of it it is an all-in-one 4x100, but unfortunately it is truly a jack of all trades and surely a KING OF NONE, hahaha :D
Here's how it looks adapted to my SSM boot (that additional 1cm adapter heel raise actually fixes the issue that K2 R100 does not have any significant heel raise like a proper wizard UFS frame). Cheers! :)

Good description, interesting solution to use a Teflon tape. I like the idea that you can by trial and error find your rocker that will suit you best and then you can just buy a solid metal frame with exactly that type of rocker. Eventually it will be much cheaper than buying tons of different wizard frames to find the best one.
