I🤗🤗🤩🤩🤩😎😎I would recommend the beta, zeta, or delta over the alpha for you just because you have been more into watercolor than acrylic or gouache lately and I’ve been liking those even more than the alpha for that!
I felt the same way about the S&B sketchbooks until I really used them on a consistent basis. That’s when I learned what you could throw at them and how well they handled it.

I personally use the Stillman and Birn Zeta series, which is around 270 gsm . It's hot pressed, but excellent for wet mediums. I like the hot pressed because it's better on my dip pens and doesn't mess them up nearly as much.
I can totally see that. I have dip pens and I can't imagine trying to use them on cold pressed paper--it gives me the chills like with nails on a chalkboard! Hot press for pen and ink work is simply delicious! :)

When I realized in my frenzy of gouache buying that I’d neglected to make room for a burnt sienna OR a burnt umber, I started eyeing the 24 lol! I’m glad to hear they are lovable!
This video was great! I enjoyed it because it was really calming to watch. I saw the sealed palette online once! But the ones I saw came with collapsible cups that you could expand and put water in it. The palette fits in the cup while collapsed so its quite convenient for traveling.
Enjoyed the haul. I like knowing the exact sketchbook details as well but instead of writing it out, i cut out the front part of the information (if available ) and paste it to the back page/flap/envelope.
That's a great idea--most of them also have those nice pockets so sometimes I put them in there, but the ones here didn't have them so I just wrote it out! I think pasting the actual info from the packaging would be much prettier, so thank you for that tip!

Im not sure if you're aware but the white Etchr lab watercolor sketchbook you have in this video is the "Everyday Sketchbook" not the 'Perfect sketchbook'- their 'Perfect Sketchbook' is black with heavier paper and is quit a bit more expensive than the white 'Everyday Sketchbook' you have in this video. But I have both and you really cant go wrong with either- they both are fantastic. :) Anyway great video and thank you for sharing. Much love!! 💜

I’m so glad this went over three of the Stillman and Birn versions to help you decide! So far the only difference between the delta and beta was the color of the paper. I actually just posted the airtight palette review, gouache swatch and test painting as my most recent video, and I did not have the exploding experience (lol)! I just overfilled the white a bit and it overflowed into the edge and cap where I did that. So I just learned that one was a bit too full, all the others were at a good level and it has been really easy to use! I will have my eye out for how well it keeps the paint wet. The Sarah Burns Studio vid I link in that one has GREAT info on her stay wet palette approach. Enjoy, and thank you so much for visiting my channel! :)

I absolutely love the 500 series music mixed media sketchbook from Strathmore I wasn’t thrilled with the 400 series but I used it I have a bunch of them that I got at a store called joblot ocean state job lot they were real they’re really expensive for comparatively
Liked and subbed! Have you ever tried Sui gouache? I'm not a huge pastel person, but their pastel paint set is sooooo creamy and beautiful! I have a hoarding problem with gouache and can't stop buying different brands, so I've been through them all. Honestly I think Sui is my favorite to date.
I like to write the specifics inside sketchbooks, but realized lately, I omitted the prices. (Actually, the way my art supplies are going, Id be dismayed to see how they’ve gone up in price. )

But I made a random purchase recently of a tube of Turner YELLOW GREEN when I ordered some other things from Jackson’s, just to give it a try. If you’re a fan of chartreuse, yellow green/olive green, you will love this bright yellow green. 👍

Thank you!! I have mostly gotten my Luminance in "open stock" one at a time on Blick and Jerry's Artarama. I usually check both sites to see who has the less expensive price the day I am buying. They are so expensive but I love them so much!!
That's not the etchr lab perfect sketchbook it's the everyday one. I have one and the paper is 100% cotton and I find it my favourite to work on. I think you'll love it, but the perfect sketchbooks are leather covered with fabriano paper. The everyday day one is beautiful to use though and is one I will keep buying.
I eventually figured it out but it definitely took a while lol!! I have loved the everyday one and I actually just got a fabriano sketchbook from New Mexico while I was there, so I'm excited to try that one, too! There's nothing like a new sketchbook to me!! 🤗🤗
I would say just get a few tubes of colors that you personally like (or just a cool red, lemon yellow and a cool and a warm blue) to see if you like the medium -- Holbein was my favorite but Windsor and Newton is a close second!!
Opening boxes videos are the staple of TH-cam these days! I have used many brands of gouache for years and W&N are an established artist brand, I prefer Turners Design Gouache, I am rather disappointed in the new wave of acrylic gouache, it is really just flat acrylic paint, not gouache at all! True gouache is opaque watercolor and it re-activates with water and paint! I do hope that you continue to create and share your art journey with us, I do hope to watch more of your videos, be safe out there! Sizing will really be the differences between watercolor sketchbooks, well that and cotton VS pulp papers. Buh bye!

I have a couple stillman and birn sketchbooks. I like the cold pressed ones better than hot pressed. They’re really nice, though!

I have the 24 and 36 pans sealable pallette love them I have 3 of the 36 and 2-24 pallette and they’re like 13$ on amazon
