@@maJastoL not hating but i doubt northlane would reach this level that they are in right now if adrian was still the front man, Marcus is overall the better front man.. Adrian put them on the map but marcus put them on the top
@@richard6200 Not hating either I love both which is what I'm trying to say. It just felt like the death of one band and the birth of another. Marcus is probably the better vocalist overall yeah, but there was something about the old stuff too and Adrian was still the better lyricist imo.

Felt that right away too. I feel like mesmer was Marcus's intro and now he's fully leveled up and the band has gotten closer and stronger and Obsidian will be their final boss haha

@@ThroughtheWalls He definitely gave them the evolution in sound that they maybe needed. However, I consider them two different bands almost when you talk about Adrian era Northlane and Marcus era Northlane.
I get different things from both, so I like them equally. Although...Node wasn't exactly great, I started getting into Marcus when they did Mesmer.
You gotta check out Dispossession though, it's like a rite of passage for any Northlane fan, that and Quantum Flux.

Northlane is one of those bands that a new band member changed the whole destiny of the band. Marcus is in my opinion number one heavy vocalist in the world. And then the whole instrumental masterpiece to support his talent and vice versa. One can not go without the other. Fucking epic.

reminds me of freefall in a very abstract way with the tappy riffs, this has such a classic northlane signature to it while staying relevant with the alien-esque/synthy futuristic sound, i cant ask for more, this is just amazing, my body and soul is so fucking ready for april 1st man !

@@liamgideon5589 eeeh, Monu kinda lost me to be honest but I still have some hopes. They've become too formulaic and rely on labyrinthine riffs which are then paired with generic albeit technically clean singing and screaming. Love Malyan's drumming style tho so he could save the thing for me.

Back in 2019 at the ALIEN listening party in Melbourne, Nic approached ME (not the other way around) and asked me for a chat and a beer. We spoke for over an hour - and the conversation only served as a confirmation as to why I love this band so much and will continue to support them no matter what they decide to do next. If after 6 months you see them without glasses your brain is a bit like "wow wtf"
It's the same with instrumental versions. I listen to Shadow of Intent exclusively without vocals.
