- The Jack Daniel Distillery introduces Jack Daniel’s American Single Malt Whiskey as the brand’s first permanent expression crafted from 100% malted barley. Jack Daniel’s American Single Malt is offered in a 1-liter size packaging at 90 proof for a suggested retail price of $99.99 and is available now exclusively in select duty- free retail locations across the globe. Jack Daniel’s American Single Malt is the latest innovation from the Jack Daniel Distillery, featuring a 100% malted barley mash bill that is ground, fermented and distilled in Lynchburg, Tennessee. The special whiskey is charcoal mellowed and then aged in new, charred American oak barrels before being finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks.
In this review some friends with more single malt experience than me from Bourbon and Booze podcast joint me for the review. Sorry it is a little long. It was Sammy's birthday and we had been recording and drinking all day long. I hope you enjoy! - บันเทิง
American single malt is a category that doesn't get enough love from the whiskey community on TH-cam so I'm very happy to see this video
Thanks for watching!
Just in this last year I have been opening my eyes to the American single malts and it really changed my perspective trying the JD and Rare Character selections!
Available in duty free stores and select military bases.
Yes, And I know someone who got one at a military base weeks ago, so some are already out there.
Love you guys! Thanks for what you do for the community
Thank you for being here!
Interesting take on wanting it as a unique bartop bottle vs. being something you'd want to stock to drink. Makes sense.
Thanks!
I’ve only tried one American Single Malt. I’m looking forward to trying more
Come back and let me know what you think when you get the opportunity to try more
Malt whiskey is not for everyone. Some people love it (I'm one of them), some people hate it. I don't know anyone who is in between on the whiskey. I would say if you like Woodford Reserve Malt Whiskey, you will like this.
That is reasonable.
Hello Randy, unrelated to the Jack, I have noticed this in some of your other videos, what is up with the all white bottles sitting on the bar? Such as the willet bottle? Just curios
My wife likes to create home decor out of whiskey products. She painted the bottles for the bar counter. She also made ornaments out of mini bottles for a whiskey-themed Christmas tree - th-cam.com/video/XiSslX0difI/w-d-xo.html
How about a link to their podcast. I can’t locate it

Aw man, disappointed to hear this is a travel exclusive.
I think the only other distillery that has finished multiple years is the Thomas S. Moore line from Barton.
I should have known that, but I didn't. I will have to look into that.
I've never had an American single malt. Does it taste like scotch? What's a good starter for me under 40?
They usually don't taste like scotch. The good ones taste more like irish whiskey to me. Balcones single malt reminds me of Auchentoshan. I like Westward and Pflugerville. Andalusia also has some nice single malts.
@@BourbonRealTalk thanks
Bring it on but it’s going to be hard to beat Scotland for Single Malts. I just hope they keep going.
I think they are going to try to make a TN style of single malt rather than try to compete with the world heavyweight champion.
Yeah it's gunna take some serious work and experience to beat the Scottish titan's where whiskey is concerned I'm a bourbon fan and I am currently drinking it but still have serious love for the scotch whiskey hands down will always take the win
@@craigfinn3126 Scotland definitely can make a strong argument that they are the world's premier malted barley producer. This bottle isn't trying to be scotch, but something new that represent TN.
Was that knife a Buck 110?
No, it is a fake damascus blade fornign knife I inherited from my grandfather when he passed. He collected and machined custom knifes. I ended up with a couple of his hand made knifes, and that buck knock off.
It sounds interesting, but not quite like a 'Stranahans killer.'
I will have to check out the Stranahan single malt.
I heard a wise man who is incredibly handsome say he thought this tastes like watermelon jolly ranchers!
That is true. I had had so much to drink doing the drunk history segment that I forgot to say it in this recording...but water mellon for sure!
I am the first like! Woo-hoo! 😁😆🤣
Yeah! Number 1!
Sounds interesting but not worth over paying to get.
I think the price will be reasonable in duty free.
