    • @voteZDLR
      @voteZDLR 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@abhisheksuratkar I do think two of the prophecies will come to fruition just simply because they're staring us in our face. First, the one regarding the Long Night -- Azor Ahai, the Prince who was Promised, you'd think would come along in one way or another. Whether it's a noticeable fantastic thing like suddenly the person who IS that person (if it is one person at all) starts glowing in this fiery light, or whether it's just simply that someone very important has been there the entire time and will be given a sudden burst of unnatural strength or courage, I don't know, but it's one of those things they've been hinting at for a long time and only have been increasing in the hints as time has gone on. And no, I don't think it's a Red Herring when it comes to that one.
      The other important one that I do think will come to fruition is Dany's visions in the House of the Undying. I feel pretty sure that Dany's seeing the Throne Room in King's Landing back in Season 2 as being completely destroyed, either white with snowfall or cinders, I think that will happen if only because I think either via an attack from the White Walkers (could explain the Snow) or if it's an attack from Dragons or even if Cersei blows up the Red Keep (fire and cinders -- in case it's not snow) I think one way or the other the whole idea of "who wins the Iron Throne" is and has always been a Red Herring. I don't think anyone will. I think one way or another it's going to be entirely destroyed by the time anyone "wins" it at all. Which is going to completely reframe Dany's ambitions if she survives long enough to actually see the destruction herself or not. I don't know. But for all the time they've wasted in prophecies, books and show, the idea they're not going to realize SOME of them I think is crazy. No, not all, there's no time, but some of them surely.

      He could simply end up as the last man standing. If Jon dies then it's almost definitely going to be a heroic sacrificial death, possibly killing the Night King, and as it's all bar written in stone that Cersei and Danaeyrs will die one way or another, he could take the Iron throne just because there's noone else left to do so. I doubt they'll take this path but it almost seems viable.

    Robert says this line referring to Joffery and Sansa but it seems more fitting for Gendry and Arya.
    If they marry, the alliance will parallel Ned/Lyanna/Robert: a Baratheon marrying a Stark to take the crown from a Targaryen. And Jon and Arya have the same brother-sister dynamic as Ned and Lyanna, and he would be friends with Gendry like Robert and Ned.

      As we Draw Closer to Season 8... i honestly think the Kingdoms will go back to Pre-Targaryen Conguest, Best outcome for Gendry is to be lord of Storms End and the Stormlands with Arya at his side. Gendry have not done anything ''Duty full yet'' so after the Wars that is coming is coming to a End will he do his Duty and say yes to be lord? i Honestly think so.

    • @voteZDLR
      @voteZDLR 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@Basedbateman97 I have been saying for years that I think whoever becomes "King of Westeros" is going to look at what he or she just won and realize that all of the destruction that was wrought upon the world is BECAUSE of the Iron Throne. So with that, let's say Jon wins, I think Jon is going to make his first and only action as King (besides legitimizing certain people like Gendry) is to grant independence to each of the seven kingdoms. Make sure that someone is in line to care for each one, then with all that done ride North to begin rebuilding Winterfell etc. I think Gendry and Arya will go to Storm's End. If Sansa marries, I bet she only marries for political reasons and therefore will marry Sweetrobin in the Vale.

    • @voteZDLR
      @voteZDLR 5 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@RedRoseSeptember22 Nah, Arya has consistently reminded people of her aunt Lyanna for the entire duration of the show and the books. Lyanna, like Arya, was a tomboy. The kind of woman that only Robert Baratheon could fall madly (and I mean madly) in love with.
      Meanwhile Lyanna elopes with Rhaegar, in spite of these "non-ladylike qualities" herself and has enough of a sex drive to conceive Jon. I do think Arya is a more extreme version of that same tomboy now by necessity, she's literally had to become coldblooded and bloodthirsty just as a means to survive, but at the same time that doesn't mean she won't one day mature into a woman who wouldn't mind having a family of her own. Just because she doesn't want it when she's like 10 years old doesn't mean shit.
      Besides, I'd argue that Sansa is the one (in the show) who is least likely to marry for love ever again. She had to deal with Ramsay after all. Sansa will end up marrying Sweetrobin because it will cement a relationship between the North and the Vale and also because she's the new Littlefinger, basically, and he would be an extremely easy husband to control.
      And if that's not enough to convince you let's boil it down to classic foreshadowing, in Season 3 I believe just before their separation Gendry is preparing to go join the BWOB and she pleas with him to stay, telling him "I could be your family" and he just smiles at her and says, "No, you would be my lady".

      It's not bloodlust, or she would have killed many more people. She targets evil people who've hurt innocents--and only the Mountain and Cersei are left. I do think she and Gendry will be betrothed by the end of the show.

    • @MiaLeyden
      @MiaLeyden 5 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      Arya is already in danger of losing the connection with her humanity and Gendry might be the anchor she needs. He will allow her to keep being a warrior because he is one as well, but will give her a reason to remain stable and not go completely wild and reckless after the imminent war.

    • @FabalociousDee
      @FabalociousDee 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @ktelle Murdering others have different effects on different people. Arya was bent on revenge from the beginning, whereas Jon didn't really know what he wanted and was just kind of thrust into being a killer. The common theme with many female characters written is that their endgame is short term love, justice and/or power and Arya is no different. Jon has only one objective - prevent destruction. So it's totally different. Sorry for the rant. LOL

    • @MiaLeyden
      @MiaLeyden 5 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @ktelle Heck no, it's not about body count, it's about personality and motivation. Jon kills when he has to, the only time he almost lost it was with Ramsay and he stopped when Sansa called it. Arya received training to tame her feelings and is killing for revenge, but once her list and the battles are done she could lose her balance, especially if Jon dies. That's why in my opinion she is in a greater risk. I guess we will all find out in a few weeks.

      well we know at the very least he'll be a key player in the machinations at Winterfell with him using his smithing skills to help properly prepare all their weapons. Maybe he'll even sort of get used as part of a Bran vision in restoring the knowledge of how to curate Valerian steal, since the guy that was Gendry's boss at that shop way back in s1 was one of the few smiths still around the world who knew how to reforge it.
      And, OF COURSE he and Arya will have a proper reunion. That's not saying anything more long term (should they even both survive) will develop on from there, but yeah obviously we're all still going to get a basic reunion we've all been waiting for (same thing for Arya and Jon, Arya and the Hound, Sansa and the Hound, Bran and Jaime, Jon and Sam, etc)

He’s so much to learn even as a Lord of the Stormlands and Warden of the South (still can’t understand how Bronn with his experience was removed from this title). And with Davos and Brienne on duty in the capital and not being able to help him become a lord, he has no ally to rule the Stormlands. Gendry likely is Cersei's son she claimed died, who she actually sent away so Jaime's son would be King. Chances are this will be revealed in the next season by Varys or Cersei either one or both of whom were Gendry's secret benefactor. As well even if it turns out Gendry is really a bastard, Daenerys may Legitimize him to gain the support of the Baratheons.
      Any way it happens a Legitimized Gendry has a hereditary claim to the thrown as strong as Daenerys'. Her best 2 solutions to deal with Gendry's claim to her thrown are to kill him or marry him. Who was the Prince that was promised? Azor Ahai, reborn. Who was Azor Ahai? He created Lightbringer and ended the first coming of Night King. NOTE, he CREATED Lightbringer!! That makes him a "smith" as in blacksmith. Who is the remaining blacksmith in Winterfell. Also, the PRINCE that was promised. Who is the ONLY Prince in Winterfell. The son of King Robert Baratheon. Now, what other Smith that was also a Prince was in the Game of Thrones. Only Gendry. I was disappointed that the show did not finally complete the "Prince that was promised" development. Sansa says so in the books, she says Arya preferred the company of common people and would make friends with anyone. She made friends with the butchers boy mica and and fought the literal crown prince when he hurt him and she saw gendry and hotpie as members of her pack, her family, not caring about their blood status. In short Arya is cool and her gendry would be great together and I can’t wait for the Their reunion. Thanks for coming to my tedtalk

    I adore Gendry, and I obviously adore Gendry and Arya together. This show is so thought out, he wouldn't be in the final season if he didn't have an important role to play. They brought him back for a reason and I can't wait to find out why!

    Me: If Gendry and Arya don't marry I'll be pissed. They've mentioned SO many possibilities of them marrying like when Septa Mordane saying she has blacksmiths hands. And Robert does say "I have a son you have a daughter. We'll join our houses." And he calls her his lady. They better marry or I'll be very upset. VERY UPSET. Plus they have amazing chemistry

    I thought about that a few months ago that the perfect ruler would be Gendry. He is the true underdog bastard, not Jon Snow. Imagine an ending where there's a final battle and it ends when Gendry defeats Jon Snow with a warhammer to the chest like their fathers before. Heil King Gendry, Long May he Reign!
    A more possible story, Cersei is wants nothing to do with Robert's baby when she is pregnant, she does everything to lose the baby, she takes potions, etc...eventualy she gets the baby prematurely and say to Jaime to "get rid of it". Jaime leaves with the baby but does not kill him, gives him to some blacksmith. Upon joining the fight at Winterfell, everybody introduce themselves and Davos is like "this is Gendry, RB's bastard". Jaimes is shocked but doesn't say a thing. then later on when Gendry is asleep, Jaime look at Gendry's shoulder and see the same mark that the baby had. He is convinced that this is Cersei's child and Robert's legitimate son. When Winterfell is about to fall, Jaime realises it's pointless to continue and knock Gendry unconscious. Gendry wake up and he is tied down in a charriot with Jaime travelling along the King's road. Jaime's goal is to show Cersei Gendry and tell her who he is. Closing to King's Landing, they are attacked and Gendry escapes. So later Jaime penetrate the Throne Room and it's too late he sees Euron Greyjo dead and Cersei laying near dead by Gendry's warhammer. He is like nooo what have you done, she was your mother! Gendry is besides himself, Jaime kneel down and Cersei is getting emotional. Gendry kneels down too, take her in arms and Cersei dies happy finallly.
    Lannister Men enters the room and Jaime explain to them that Euron killed Cersei and that Gendry was Robert's legitimate son and the heir to the Iron Throne. They all kneel. Gendry Baratheon become King of the Seven Kingdom and Jaime Lannister become Hand of the King like his father before him. And as with his...gold hand destined for the job.

  • @gheilers
    @gheilers 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    The show's "Gendry" is actually a composite of two different characters in the books: Gendry from Flea Bottom, and Edric Storm, the only publicly-known-and-acknowledged bastard-child of Robert Baratheon (and Delena Florent --- Stannis' "cousin-in-law"). The way D&D bastardized the story and characters (no pun intended) made it impossible to provide "Gendry" with any reasonable way to be a "major player."

    Finally! I am so looking forward to your upcoming GoT content.
    This video has given me so much to think about. Gendry seems to be great example of how smart D&D have been to listen to the fans and then giving them what they want. I don't know if they always meant to bring him back or write him off. But either way, it looks like they an interesting way to get him back in the story.

    There's no rightful heir to the iron throne, it was made by blood, the Targaryens conquered westeros with blood, ruled for 300 years, stopping out any rebellion with blood until Robert, Eddard, and arryn came along, And then the lannisters took over when Cersei killed Robert, Jon, Eddard with the help from Varys & Littlefinger and her family
    Jon, Gendry, Daenerys don't have any right to the throne because their fathers lost the throne, If anyone is rightful heir its Cersei's kid as of right now
