This was great! As the Defiant you got seriously hammered that time they got their front disruptors on target but otherwise outmanoeuvred them and won. As the Warbird, you had the only strategy of cloaking and waiting until all of the disruptors were charged the unleashed hell, but still took serious damage from the quantum torpedoes. The only thing I would suggest in future is to try and fly the defiant through the warbird... :)
Hey huge French fan of Star Trek here ! That was a really cool battle The defiant firing quantom torpedoes two by two compare to the Sovereign class is very classy Can you make a fight with the constitution refit class? For exempel again't the miranda class to reproduce ST2 Wrath of khan or again't a bird of pray like the Search for Spock Thanks by advance
The D'deridex along with Vor'cha were always underdogs in this game, a kind of a glass cannon a fat juicy target with weapon arcs reduced to aft and fore. Compared to them even the Nebula seems like a beast.
On screen we see the Defiant tear apart Breen Battleships very swiftly. The warbird would go down just as quick, especially once the quantum torpedoes start flying.
@@JackSterling-ng2lu yes it did but we no virtually nothing about those Breen ships, they may have been weakly shielded for all we know. Once their energy dampening weapons were countered they didn’t seem all that impressive. I can’t imagine a defiant shredding a warbird that quickly, a warbird is the equal to a galaxy and it really strains credibility that a single Defiant would match that. The Defiant was powerful for its size but it’s not a god ship
I'm giving this to the Defiant. You still got pummeled as the warbird against the AI. If there was an actual person playing the Defiant it would have been a different story. While the Defiant doesn't have the battle endurance of larger ships, it's power plus speed and maneuverability give it an advantage over larger ships. And I LOVE the new quantum torpedo sound. It always irritated me they sounded exactly like the pulse phasers. Awesome battle!
The problem with the Warbird here is it has very powerful weapons but only a few of them: thats fine against other large ships but terrible against smaller, more agile vessels. The Warbird is equal to a Galaxy yet the Galaxy class, thanks to its 360 degree weapon coverage, would have fared much better against the Defiant. I'll have to put that to the test 🤔
@@adamlee2111 yeah I always wondered why large ships of the other powers were so sparsely armed. It never made sense. But I guess the Romulan's learned a hard lesson in the Dominion war because the came out with the new warbird seen in Nemesis. Though that one wasn't too impressive either.
@@02ujtb00626 My guess is the Valdore type is about equal to the older D'Deridex but is a less wasteful design thats quicker and easier to build. I hope so, otherwise its no better than its predecessor in any regard 😂
@@02ujtb00626 to be fair its only sparsely armed in bridge commander, but they remained in service & got retrofitted for a long time including more weapons and were in the process of getting decomissioned in favor of the Hpax wich was a much newer & arguably better version, atleast until Romulus blew up, after that the romulans split into the remnants of the romulan star empire and the more liberal new romulan republic, due to shennanigans of the loyal imperial tal shiar both sides ended up in a civil war of reunification and both sides used every type of ship they could get their hands on, even TOS era Tliss warbirds. The Valdore/Mogai was a heavy warbird that was a nimble glass cannon, it had the same role as the Vorcha or Akira/Steamrunner (engaging similar sized/armed vessels or smaller in 1v1 or larger targets in packs and supporting bigger ships in formations), the Ddrex/Hpax was a slow manuevering frontline battlecruiser that had the same role as a Galaxy/Sovereign or Neghvar (engaging hostile capital ships and breaking formations while drawing fire away from smaller ships). Beautyful design just almost all TNG and especially DS9 legacy designs were.
You did a good job. Though I think the game or AI needs to be rebalanced. The Defiant couldn't beat an uograded Excelsior class in the TV show. So having Defiant beat a D'Deridex (which is equal to a Galaxy) is very odd.
I'm still tweaking the Defiant so it may be nerfed a little in the future. Like you said, the rubbish AI played a big part here. I'll have to do a Defiant vs Galaxy match to see how the Defiant fares against 360 degree firing arcs
The Lakota was completely overhauled and an almost entire new ship. At least in my head canon. They only mention the quantum torpedoes and I think that she got upgraded phasers. But that doesnt mean that the rest of her systems wouldnt also be ugraded. Given how extensive refits can be, it is just logical to assume that the rest of the ship was upgraded as well. Many people think "Its just an Excelsior-Class, they are over 100 years old." But that doesnt mean they are underperforming.
I think this is not really Canon. The D'Deredix is we more powerful than that. However, subject to the Romulan tactic of decloaking and firing their massive salvo from the forward firing arc to gain upper advantage. The Defiant is powerful, but also it is much smaller and has to fight the same way as the Romulan tactic but with much more agility. Just my opinion.
It is powerful, but a ship like the Defiant is about the worse thing it could fight against. Its large and has only a few (but powerful) weapon placements. A small, agile ship with good weapons and shields can avoid its forward barrage easily take advantage of its lack of agility and size. Its equal to a Galaxy class but a Galaxy would fare much better against a Defiant due to its 360 degree weapon coverage
In canon we’ve not really seen a Warbird fight anything we can use to benchmark it against the Defiant. It could be weaker than a Galor or more powerful than a Sovereign for all we know. The only thing that’s established is that whenever the Enterprise D encountered one, both sides felt they could take out the other, and two Warbirds could destroy the Enterprise in seconds if they wanted to. We also saw a holodeck simulation of Voyager fighting two of them and that’s exactly what happened to an Intrepid class.
Its size should lead to a vast shield capacity, hull durability and weapon power if that huge volume were used in an efficient manner but sadly that doesn't seem to be the case
@@keyboardt8276 I feel like it had to be so large due to technological limitations. Kind of like the first cell phones. To get the raw power and levels of safety they needed, it had to be massive with the singularity warp core away from other parts of the ship.
I love the D'deridex class warbird.

Again, nicely done and well played on both ends. Reward urself with some; Romulan Ale.. it's on the house.

The Warbird got the crap kicked out of it both times. Even if it technically won the second battle.
The Defiant is one of the best ships in Star Trek. Ironically, it's one of the smaller warships 😅
There is no world where a warbird would lose to a defiant.
Best tactic for the defiant in this case: Get *INSIDE* the D'deridex. they don't have guns in that giant-ass gap
Reminds me of the "Star Trek: Armada" intro. Defiant even layed mines in there. 😀

The Defiant is by far the better ship. So much smaller and really it only comes down to the Captain as to what ship will come out on top.
the warbird is powerful but such a wasteful design. Replacing losses during the Dominion War must have hurt the Romulans badly
