KALEIDO jess the interviewer was being rude though if you didn’t pick it up, Joaquin was honestly justified for his assertiveness/passive aggressiveness. The journalist was hella disrespectful and Joaquin honestly put her in her place.
Watch the moment she actually asks about the film, he becomes extremely professional. He only goes off on her when she tries to pry gossip out of him.
It's honestly not too uncommon for celebrities to get annoyed during interviews, the footage just doesn't see the light of day
She was rude and aggravating. He was unimpressed and disinclined to be overly accomodating. He still gave an interesting, thoughtful and nuanced answer about working on the film.
What was rude? The guy had to spend a couple of minutes of his day to answer questions, and he blows her off like he's a fucking diva. He gave a canned answer as if he made some kind of deep philisophical decision to voice a fucking animated bear. He was contractually obligated to do this movie in order to do another movie. Just do your job, stop acting like you're the next coming of jesus christ.

I agree but he's also an eccentric personality on top of that. It's clear that his worldview is that people don't necessarily need to take anything from his performance and, on the perspective of utility, he didn't need to have been drawn in as some kind of revelatory experience to be the voice of a bear....he's being brutally honest that it was a job and he was interested in the craft. It's entirely possible that HIS temperament and willingness to not be a plastic fake hollywood person has gotten him into trouble.
